It kills the whole ambience. I really dug the first nightmare on elm street but when freddy started cracking funny lines on the sequels that just killed it for me. Check out an italian movie called "salo", that shit really scared me cause it seems so much more real, it is based on real events.

It was a film a few friends made, in no way were they taking themselves completely seriously. You really don't seem to understand that. caught this show on very late night tv, it works so well, on bbci player, they've tried to copy the format of a host and 4 or 5 guests but they discuss topics like can scientists be moral etc, and instead of charismatic creatives and actors it has hardly known intellectuals, columnists and of that ilk, as i like this show so much, i had high hopes for this other one, but it was awful, boring and badly directed, hot and bothered nobodies talking over 1 another, shows just how good this show is

From what I understand they would give them 5 or 6 topics of discussion and then see where the conversation went from there.

I would imagine that this is 3 or 4 hours worth of footage whittled down to 48 minutes, so you're getting the best of the best, which lends to the impression of it being scripted.
