@xanderlane haha. Which part at 1:17? The weird bird/laser sound? I had a lot of delay on my guitar signal, so I think it's an echoing string scrape noise
@N3V3R5UR3ND3R I did not save the backing track to this song so it's not available. If you have guitar pro, you can use the tabs as a backing. thanks!
@guitargod874 lol I could tell you that it's on an amp stand that's not easy to see in the video, but that would be no fun. So i'll just say I have psychic powers :)
@Ripskater00 this is a month's late response (sorry), but I'm playing mainly in B aeolian. During the tapping part it does break into a G lydian-type sound
I love this solo! It has so much more depth than most solos, both your solos do. It's a toss up between this one and your Crazy Guitar Solo Fiddly Diddly. Think I like this one more. Your Metroid Medley rocks too. At least you Got Muscles! keep them coming
BTW man, I always loved the riff at 1:17 to 1:34. when we did this song in front of a good 300 people this was the most commented on bit by some very talented bands some of whom have now moved into light stardome or at least on thier way. I thought you should know dude. I'd strongly urge you to incorporate that into a really strong dark song and lock it down. All the best IC.
@IcechickenSr I'm sorry if I never got it to you. That's why I got a website up now to make it easier. All the better if you did it by ear, and that is really, really cool that you played my song! And I'm glad everyone loved it. I'm still doing tweaks to the song here and there, so we'll see what comes out
LOL i love at 107 you checking out how buff your arms looking haha. Anyways I just watched your latest vid and it's great to see you comming along since this. I once asked you for the GP 5 file of this, never got it though which is cool. I ended learning by ear and played this pice of yours at the bar and we gave full credit to you of course and people loved it! Cheers dude, IC
This is amazing. Three years have past, and your skill must have amplified greatly since this video. You are one of the inspirational forces of my learning guitar. I can say I knew who you were before you were famous.
When writing solos, i get rly stumped. say its a backing track in E with E G# and C# ( i think thats 1 4 6) what scales would i use so i can go over the entire neck
E would be the scale containing the notes E,F#,G#,A,B,C#D#,E so it would be 1 3 6. So the main scale you could use would be E major. If you want to go up the neck, you need to know the other positions of E major (which are also "modes") and how to play these up and down one string as well
so are the other postions just the same scale on a different position, so like instead of the e on the 12 fret 6th string the root note is on the 2nd fret 4th string?
@Ablithealbino that would be an example. So you'd start on the 2nd fret, then play 4th fret, 6th fret, then go to the 3rd string and play 2nd fret, 4th fret, etc. or you could start the scale on the 7th fret, 5th string
Dude, really like it, think the aim of this piece sounds really good. But i gotta admit i'm in one of those "GOD DAMN GIVE ME YOUR SKILLS I SHOULD BE PRACTISING WHY THE FCK AM I ON YOUTUBE WATCHING VIDEOS OF BETTER PLAYERS?!" Moods...As opposed to just humble appretiation :P
Only been playing a year, but im a stage where i have to really start embracing theory. Currently going through every Cmajor chord that exists along with all the arpeggios with this lol
haha, I know what you mean. I think that can contribute to a driving force because it kind of awakens your own expectations, as long as you don't overdo it and guitar playing keeps the enjoyment factor. For learning theory, I recommend learning the concepts, that is, how to construct scales/chords and how to use them so you're not just playing the chords. There's a lot of books out there on theory, my website has a couple books that i'm using if you're interested
The inspiration came from MAB's "no boundaries" and added 9th chords (i was learning them when i was taking lessons). The rest came from experimenting with riffs I wrote
Thanks, It took about a year from the first version I made of this song to create this. I'm in 3 bands, my main one eternity lost. I've got only older footage of us up right now though
I wish to learn at the feet of the master!! Lol...JK man, JK, that was really impressive! How long did it take for you to master sweep picking? I just can't get it at all...
lol, thank you! Well I haven't "mastered" it but it took me about a year or so to get it to this point. It's a complete change of picking style, so it takes time. If you haven't yet, try using some of the stuff from my lesson videos, and that might help you progress
HAHA! I knew you were Chuck Dietz within the first 2 seconds. How? The guitar and the arms, which made me remember that old video where you say it sucks but then flex and bust out a great solo!
