  • My grandparents used to sing this to me when I was around 2. My mom showed me this video and I couldn't remember where I had heard it before. Brings back memories ^^

  • Thanks for the comment - yup! You can see in my notes that it's named after the Galashiels man Robert Coltart, and from all the links on YouTube a lot of people refer to it as Ali Bally Bee (or similar) as well, from the first line of the chorus.
