Keep in mind that this has probably undergone many changes since this performance. This was over 2 1/2 years ago. I'm pretty sure Rick Rubin probably said "Yeah, this part is good. Keep that, but this part, that part and that part sucks. Do this, that and the other and we'll put it on the album." That's his job. That's what Metallica is paying him to do. So, take this song for what it's worth, but don't expect it to sound the same on the album.

does anyone remember early eighties punk and thrash trash. Does anyone remeber that alot of those lyrics consisted of a lot of "whoas" and "aahhhs". doesn't anyone remeber old misfits or samhain. Maybe the whoas in this song is a way of getting the youth back to their sound? Is it just me? I think maybe this is tribute to old stuff. Why does everyone insist on slamming them instead of hearing the genuis of the boys here? Is it easier to slam them and hang out with the mjority of the "cool kids"?

Keep in mind that this has probably undergone many changes since this performance. This was over 2 1/2 years ago. I'm pretty sure Rick Rubin probably said "Yeah, this part is good. Keep that, but this part, that part and that part sucks. Do this, that and the other and we'll put it on the album." That's his job. That's what Metallica is paying him to do. So, take this song for what it's worth, but don't expect it to sound the same on the album.

as a guitarist and singer, i find that most of the talent of metallica lies in james hetfield. hes an incredible writer and rythm guitarist, not a vocal wonder but a fuckin awesome voice! hammett is not very technical, hes a very sloppy player and lots of his solos are written by hetfield, mustaine (kill em all, ride the lightning...." or rock. love metallica tho.

Honestly, Metallica mixes the best of the genres into Metal. Think about Motorbreath, it was a LOT like this song. very punk, but still Metal.
Like Load, very blues, but still indeed Metal.
St. Anger is raw. I liked it, other than the no solos part (and good thing they put solos in Frantic during live performances such as 2006 seoul). It would've been better had not Bob Rock decided the way he did.
and now that Bob Rock is gone, Metallica will reign even better than they have.
