They were surprised by the technical perfection of the record and their friend told them they are very famous in the Death Metal scene. Hence they called them the "Eagles of Death Metal". Both (Jesse and Josh) decided it would be a good band name (just like QUOTSA, they´re neither queens nor from the stone age).
