I just recently was lucky enough to witness Clutch acoustic Greenville SC everyonne met and signed th e band for a good cause also ... while my signing I said to Neil ' I know its not your yawz song but the way you guys do Cross Eyed Mary ... and just shook my head like ' that shit fucking slams " but didnt say nothing and as was turning away glad to even get my cd signed he said ' thanks !! thats a really hard song to play " just thought i'd share . this songs drops bottom Xllent RnRoll !!!
Certainly don't mind a slide show. Excellent cover version of a cracking tune. I saw Clutch supporting Motorhead a few years ago. They put on a superb show and gained a lot of new fans that night.
OH MY GOD!!!!! Jethro Tull, the ORIGINAL hard rock band, with two of the world's best drummers, unprecedented music, and a band that actually CHANGED MY LIFE, was covered by Clutch, the greatest band i've heard of in the last 20 years? i luv me some you tube!!! P.S. metallica was great on the black album,( sad but true is the best) but Tull and Clutch are in a league all their own "ready to rock if you wanna roll....please step away from the vehicle!!" Meanwhile, back in the year one
This cover is brilliant. I've been a fan of these guys since they were playing little Fire Hall shows back in MD in the early 90's - they've always been top notch entertainment, and nice guys to boot.
@gurn00 NICE!! Bet that was awesome....this is on the "Sucking the 70's" compilation...pretty cool 2 disc set..bunch of stoner rock bands doing covers of 70's tunes...check it out. Unfortunately itunes is probably your best bet to pick it up.
CLutch has covered Pink Floyd's "Money", multiple blues musicians, and have written they're own killer material. Honestly one of the greatest bands of our time and genuinely some of the nicest people I've ever met.
@RepentNow3572 Hahaha...I didn't realize that some knuckle draggin' neanderthal voted down, just goes to show you that you can take the man out of the ape, but you can't take the ape out of the man...
Great Tull Cover as for Metallica vs Clutch. Clutch has been Clutch since they've been around. They never changed and stuck to they're roots and thats why they are revered as one of the most consistant bands in rock/metal. They're worst album was strange cousins from the west. And really that album wasnt terrible. Viva Clutch for saving RocknRolla
I cant count how many times I have seen clutch, they are so fuckin amazing live.I just discovered this Tull cover, holy shit!!! unbelievable Tull is sooooo underrated!
Metallica said that because Jethro Tull won a grammy on the category best metal song so Metallica got angry and thats why they said that bullshit and of course
JETHRO TULL IS BETTER 1000000 LIGHT YEARS THAN Metallica
I disagree, metallica still play world tours, are in a great mood, have many grammies. They play for and care for their fans. Shit my bro saw jethro tull and a train went by and he didn't even play "locomotive breath". Metallica is more versatile, and has payed their dues going on world tours for 3 years at a time. I am sorry sir, the only way they could be better is if you prefer the material they play. THATS IT!!! GREAT COVER BTW!!!
Excuse me ? Metallica is more versatile than Tull ? what planet are you from ? Tull Has Been Touring since 1967 . they probably didn't play Locomotive Breath because they have 21 studio albums from which to choose material . Their music can't even be categorized because they experiment with everything .. blues , prog .... they're one of the bands that spearheaded the hard rock movement in the late 60's - early 70's ...Metallica more versatile ..lmao
Well the material I have always heard from them was classic jam rocky stuff. So if that is true I stand corrected, but metallica Did a lot more of drastic changes in their career and openly did a lot of diff stuff. It was more noticeable
@motorbreth4 Metallica more versatile then Tull. In my entire life I never thought o see such ignorance in written form! I couldnt agree more with your response!
@jethroboogie This is true but seriously Metallica did get robbed for that grammy because Tull had no buisness winning the grammy for metal. But Metallica did win the grammy so they need to get over it
awesome cover...yes Jethro Tull, the intro is a little different, the rest is pretty much the same. Metallica may have said that, but it is completely false...Tull is great and timeless!
he sounds like ozzy on the first sabbath album, awesome
