  • how much hp and torque

  • @ShakeNBakeSTL .. not a whole lot. 43 hp @ 6400 rpm (rear tire 37 hp @ 6500 rpm ) is the stock spec so this bike will have a bit more than that, maybe 50. You want HP get a KTM or Husaberg.

  • Is a Suzuki 650 street legal and freeway legal in California???? If so how much is a 04 -11 650 dual sport cost???

  • @Hector3158 ... yes it is a street legal dualsport. About 5,000 new, less for used.

  • lovely sound ..

my dr is work in progress now ... can`t wait to finish painting and stuff to make some video`s

  • is that pipe street legal?

  • @YamahaGuy1991 .. It is the FMF Q2.. was under 96 db when new so yes. However it was overdue for repacking at the time of this video.

  • @looseroots ok thanks, I have same bike but 03. Wanna get exhaust but nothing too loud and obviously must be street legal. does it drone at all when cruising?

  • @YamahaGuy1991 ... Drone? No. I've never heard of a single droning. Nice rumble at cruise, raps at wot. I tour all day and enjoy the sound, not irritating at all. On the other hand I have a KLX250S with an FMF full system and it is painfully loud while cruising.

  • @looseroots Your dual KLX250S ....has it been as relibial as your 650se ?

  • @linoleumcarving ... Yes, four years now without a problem. A typical Japanese bike, very reliable and low maintenance.

  • Is that a stock taillight? Thanks...

  • @confusedsay No it looks like it comes from a DR 350 but they fit the 650 and looks a little sleeker.

  • @christiaanajcronje Sure does, thanks man!

  • @confusedsay Its a stock DR250 tail light. Plug and play.

  • @looseroots Thank you, Sir!

  • how well does one of these fair with stop and go traffic? I'm a little afraid of the air cooling....

  • @SlightlyFrozen ... it is air AND oil cooled. See that huge oil cooler on the right side? It never overheats even on slow going hot and dusty singletracks. While other water cooled bikes are boiling over!

  • Can this seat 2?

  • @DeadBeluga ... yeah but it's a bit snug unless you're both damn skinny! I have a Corbin seat on now, but its really only good for the rider.

  • I noticed you thanked Jesse Kientz for parts but I guess I'm asking more about an actual location/distributor/storefront. Thanks again & your DR really does look & sound awesome!

  • @graemelockieable ... I'm on the Island too and get some parts from Adrenalin Motorcycle Co-op. I'm cheap too and acquired most accessories including the SM wheels by buying used bikes, stripping and selling them in stock form. I've owned four DR650's and might buy the fifth one soon!

  • Very nice! Immaculate looking & sounds great, but you already know that. You maintain your bike in such a way that embarrasses me with the way my bike looks. I ride an XR650L & I couldn't help but notice you are from my home province. Where do/did you get all your parts & bits & pieces if I may ask? I live on the Island & have found it difficult to locate some parts for mine. Well, I'm cheap & don't want to order off the net. Not much selection local.

  • im was 14 when i 1st went on one of these i think it was a 1989 model and they have so much frekin tourqe

  • I so fucking love the deep sound of single cylinder 650ccm bikes with racing exhausts!

  • I can't decide if i want this bike or a honda cbr600rr...... Seriously struggling to make a decision.

  • @edge24x .. completely different bikes so you need both!

  • @edge24x CBR 600 is just adrenaline bike for short cruises, DR 650 is allround for everything. I you dont fear death and like to risk, speed and curving buy CBR, if you are calm and just want to enjoy riding or want to use the bike for many purposes or like adventure in nature, buy DR. If you cant decide go for compomise - Honda Transalp 650, V-Strom 650, BMW F800 GS - better onroad than DR, worse offroad.

  • @Indy7272 How does the dr650 go on windy roads and around town. It's going to be my only form of transport to and from work and school and going on trips. Will it be suited for everday riding and on some windy roads aswell?

  • @edge24x If u put on right tires, it will do great, in windy roads those enduros and motards can keep up with much faster bikes, only on straights and long fast curves they will lack horsepower. For what u say, ideal bike for you is travel enduro or travel road bike, definitely not supersport like CBR. I recommend V-Strom 650, Transalp 650/700 or Versys 650, if you also want to ride in terrain, then F800 GS or DR 650.

  • @Indy7272 What about the 650 savage for road? What is you opinion of the 650 savage?

  • @kenzo5716 I dont know much about this kind of bikes, not my cup of tea.

  • @Indy7272 .. It's a dualsport meaning you are not limited to paved roads but can ride just about anyplace in the world. Very versatile, economical and mega fun!

  • @kenzo5716 Ok for a beginner type of cruiser. Although a 650, its a different engine.

  • Very nice DR. I have a 2010 DR which has been 'tarded but the list of things still to do is very long. What sort of power increase did you notice with those mods? It sounds mean as hell with that muffler too. Any chance you could put up a vid of your tarded DR? Would love to see it as there are not that many on youtube.

  • @tubbybasset - Thanks! The DR comes alive with these simple mods. Freeing up the breathing is the trick. The '03 'tarded DR is similar in every way plus stiffer Eibach springs, Excel wheels, Buchanan s/s spokes and new DR hubs powdercoated black. I'll post a vid of it next spring.

  • @looseroots The exhaust, air intake and rejetting will be the next mods I undertake. I am in Australia and plan on fitting a Staintune exhaust, not sure if you guys are allowed to use them over there? I will rejet the carby once the exhaust is on and change the airfilter to a hi-flow. The suspension will be upgraded at some point shortly thereafter as I am sure they used marshmellows instead of fork oil in mine, it really dives under braking. Did you do a full change out of your suspension?

  • when you were saying turn up the sound i turned it down because i thought i was either gunna get rick rolled or something was going to jump out

  • im lovin those handle bars

  • j'adore cette moto, encore +quand elle bien équipé comme celle ci !

  • The exhaust almost sounds like a helicopter, lol. Cool vid man.

  • my dad has the exact mods in his bike!!

  • sweeeeeeeeeet bike... i have an 03 with 20500... daily driver... love the "home made" eliminator kit... sexxy bike....

  • how much you pay?

  • i just bought an 05 yesterday! its a big bike!

  • where did you get that tailight? Is it off the dr250?

  • @TannerBurtt yes, it is a DRZ-250 tail light.

  • one of the better looking dr's that i've seen on youtube. i have one, and really like what you've done. i just replaced those godawful blinkers today with smaller ones and really like that, as i'd whack the big ones getting on and off the bike all the time lol

  • @wojolohre Yeah mate I'd love to replace my BIG blinkers too but riding in n out of Sydney traffic all day I need all the blinking I can get lol

  • @bulleuston76 i hear you bro, as i came down under and rode a gs500 from sydney to cairnes to darwin last fall, and sydney was the place i worried about getting killed the most, other than the kangaroos at night in queensland that is. great country to ride in though and wish i would have been on a dr instead!

  • nice looking bike!

  • Actually it sounds pretty crisp and clean , thats pretty sweet

  • love it man, the go-anywhere bike just what i want. if only i had the oney for a 650 :/ hows it do off-road for a 300 something lb bike? sounds gnarly when you give it throttle then let off!

  • Sounds wicked man!,same bike as mine.DRs are a good bike!

  • Pipe pops nicely. Carb rejet yet? You probably know this already: it's easy to do. BC has the sweetest rides. I rode from central alberta to Vancouver via crowsnest, with a couple of days on some overgrown fire roads. So nice. Rode back up through Pemberton around the resevoir, was terrified I wasn't going to make it to a gas station a couple of times, heh. Ate all of my rear tire in the one trip, but wtf, maxiis are cheap and sticky everywhere. 32K on the odom. DR's last forever. Enjoy.
