How about using the PC game of Guitar Hero and build a program to detect pixel colors that way? You can easy make a virtual bot to play or output to some solenoids for more action. Cheaper :)

that would be way too easy.. its like "cheating".. they use the information our eye would get to detect the notes... its a bit cheating too because they read out the direct video signal on a specific position but thats way harder then reading out pixel colors..

terrorist hunting. listen to a whole bunch of peole talking and pinpoint locations of "targets" based on multiple color and note pitches. wow you might have a gold mine if this doesnt already exist.

That's because the project isn't finished yet. As the video description states, we currently have detection software working and will soon interface it with the robot.
