Anything that mix different waveforms, like tri, saw, sin, pulse.

Here are some good stuff:

Refx - QuadraSID : To make good C-64 sounds.

Refx - Vanguard : To make various chip-sounds and all kind of semi digital sounds. Really awesome!

ymVST - To make Atari sounds. It's freeware too, but awesome!

NES - To make Nintendo sounds.

Quantum64 - To make really strange "chip sounds".
