  • 6:34 - ...oh, okay. *puts shirt back on*

  • Oh my god, DC, a bomb!

    A bomb!

    sorry -_-

  • The original story was in the manual who the mermaid was; it explains that she was found on the beach sun bathing and that Mikey and her became friends, then Ma' and her two idiot sons found out about it shortly after breaking out of jail and kidnapped Chunk first and then the other 'Goonies'. It was actually suppose to be a tie into a sequel movie that never got the go-ahead.

  • Gotta love the sound when you ready the hammer for application to wall/floor/ceiling/oldlady.

  • Can't believe I never knew you made this an LP. You've saved me from the no-TV-in-the-summer doldrums!

  • Damn...there sure is a lot of caves and such under Astoria, Oregon...

  • 'i only beat the old woman with my fists because she was withholding a candle from me' I used the same excuse for ice cream but the policeman was still mad. How does candle > ice cream when it comes to old woman beating?!

  • @PowerfrogsBeotch Ask my parole officer!

  • I loved this Game even if you needed ro Rescue Annie the Mermaid, a Character who they just came up with - it was Goonies afterall and that was what made it great.

Hitting the Old Lady - never gets old. XD

  • apparently Goonies was popular enough in Japan not only to get a Famicom exclusive movie game, but that was so popular that IT warrented a sequel. Ohhhh Konami, you so crazy.

  • bullets? from a gun? your one true weakness! bullets from a gun!

  • I rented this game a few times as a kid. I only vaguely remember the Goonies movie... I think I should watch it agian. c_c

  • How many crabs did it take to make this video crab people murderer.

  • Fun video! Nostalgic game! :p

  • i like your videos

  • Good movie! crab! ^^

  • I have watch the movie before. I guess it was ok but i love the song in this version.

  • HAY. The whole plot twist of the game was that Annie is a mermaid, you don't find that out until the end... I'm sure one of the14,406 people who have viewed this are WEEPING.

  • Yay Stan Bush... I think. They put that on Guitar Hero now. Oh and I don't know if I told you, but I named my band Needlessly Huge Penguin for you.

  • You've definitely got the kind of voice for this kind of this man Awesome.

  • The old lady withheld a candle from you, so you hammered her to death?!

    Wiiin

  • I LOVE COREY FELDMAN AND COREY HAIM!

  • hahaha great singing man!!! :-D

  • Beating up senior citizens in dingy dungeons yields positive results every time

  • Anyone notice how similar the exploration stages are to that of the lousy NES game Friday the 13th? The music for them is even similar to some respect....

  • "What do I do? I hit you."

    XD

  • Also, where is the 'My only weakness! Bullets! From a Gun!' from?

  • I've never seen the Goonies. It's a movie, right? What's so great about it?

  • Man, in one video, you got further in the game (kind of) than I had in owning it for years.

I do remember something about scuba gear though. I probably got it way out of order.

  • "We can survive this, all we have to do is be...good enough."

    Hilarious!

  • Don't apologize for your singing, DC! Without it, we wouldn't have Castlevania Birds, Singing Ninja Tank, the Melody of Deceased Crab, or any of your other classic songs!

    Also, Annotations are interesting. *nods*

  • i like the annotations... but if you use them again use a lot of humor:P

  • I loved the game..it was really hard and the movie was really good too

  • Nice stolen zelda music.

  • one of my favorite NES games and movies ever!! This was really hard as a kid! You've inspired me to play it again. Awesome LP

  • something about yoyos remind me of star tropics

  • something about backsides remind me of La Mulana

  • Nice job with the annotating, DC! (I'm not allergic to punctuation)

  • Man I never beat this as a kid!!! I'm going to go play it now XD

  • "You got the touch... you got the power." Nice the original Transformers The Movie reference. Nuff respect.

  • 0:13

She's just like the Shouty Priest from Mondo Medicals! Her eyes twitch out of sync as she talks (maybe shouts, who knows), wears a black dress with white stuff around her neck and doesn't spell stuff right.

  • I'll do the tuffle shuffle

  • Wow, you discovered the two items I've never been able to find, and probably never would have if I never watched this, too.

    Thanks :)

  • I like the annotations, but if they're going to slow down releasing videos, I can learn to live without them.

  • aww i was doin the truffle shuffle

  • The annotations are cute. I like them.

  • OH MY GOD IT'S THE GOONIES II

I bought this game last year for 3 bucks at a video store and like it. Never beat it though.

But now I can watch DC beat it, hooray!

    Also the annotations amused me.

  • Really funny annotations!! The behind the door parts remind me of really old text adventure games, where you type in commands or use a menu. Come to think of it... Ain't a game like that LP-worthy? Not very action-packed, I guess, but DC's commentary makes anything bitter taste sweet.

  • ...dude. That just blew my mind. StarTropics has a kid named Mike with a yoyo weapon... Goonies 2 has a kid named Mike with a yoyo weapon...

    ...NOTHING MAKES SENSE ANYMORE! o0

By the way, to DC, this LP rocks so far, keep up the good work. =3

  • The Annotations were VERY entertaining :3

  • The Annotation was good. I like how you use them. How often are you gonna use them? Your videos are still good with or without them, but I was just wondering how often will you use them.

  • The annotations are very nice for people who are using your videos as walkthroughs, but they aren't necessary. If they are going to push back your releases from one a day to one every few days, I'd say it's not worth the extra hassle. That's just my opinion though.

  • Live Commentary (?) plus a few written comments is sooo the way to go man!

and maaan did I love this game when I was a child definitely following this!

  • YAY singing

  • personally i think the annotations are great, both directional and joke annotations.

  • I played this game so much as a kid...

  • I'm kinda biased... anything deceased crab... is good crab... hmmm did that make sense? Ah well, I subscribe to you, cuz you're one of the best things on Youtube... hell, it keeps me off xtube ;).

Keep up the good work Crab !

  • i saw teh goonies yesterday.

  • i cant see the annotation thingies. must be since im watching on my wii but who cares better quality!

  • Oh my gosh, even before I watch this, this game was so awesome back in the day! :D I never could get to the end until I played it in Nesticle though. Wow, I feel old now. :S Anyway, awesome choice!! :D

  • Goonies II ? what happen to Goonies I. good video DC

  • You know DeceasedCrab, you don't have to apologize for your singing. Your voice is like those you find in the Opera! But better! Besides, I think there isn't enough singing, can we have more singing? Maybe an entire video of your magnificent singing voice?

  • Huzzah?

  • I love the annotations :)

  • The problem with annotations is that I'm able to watch the video before you add them, making me miss out. Though I'm perfectly willing to watch a video twice.

  • Also, whoa! I never knew about the candle, and never could figure out how to get the transceiver, thanks for that!

  • "Pop-Up Video: Let's Play Goonies II"?

And yeah the map system and the 'front' and 'back' areas seem ... familiar for some reason.

  • Oh man, I used to play this game a ton as a kid! My friends and I found every item except that transceiver for some reason...we could never find it...

  • i like the annotations but if you don't want to do them don't do them.

  • The verdict is in! Most of you do not want directional annotations, but you wouldn't mind the slight joke annotations every now and then.

  • That is true.

  • Agreed with that verdict, DC.

  • Personally I think the annotations are a little distracting. Easy to miss what happened in the game while reading them. They could be handy to show secrets you missed or didn't want to do.

  • I love the annotations; keep 'em up! They're a solid addition to any video so long as one doesn't go overboard and completely suffocate the footage with them.

They are a pain in the butt to do though... I hear that.

  • platforming... and exploration? LET'S PLAY FRIDAY THE 13TH! X_X

  • I agree with rocky183 its nice if you put a joke in here or there but the directions are a little overkill.

  • I say you add them only for eather some joke on the situation, or if forgot something.

    Nice video.

  • Like the neat li'l annotations. :3 But, they're totally not necessary.

  • Some of the best books are pop-up's, so pop-up videos must way better than just "regular" videos. lol

  • Next time you see someone in one of those rooms, DC, you must HAMMER them into submission!

  • Hammer into Anvil!

  • This game is Great!!! I always got lost though. Never could figure it out.

  • the annotations were kinda hard to get used too but i guess they helped explain things.

  • The 3D exploration segments actually remind me of an extremely simplified version of Shadowgate for the NES. Even the music sounds similar to a few areas in Shadowgate.

  • lol this is funny, the annotations are funny as well but why are you telling us which way to go? in case someone uses it as a guide?

  • The annotations are cool to a point. Just don't overuse them like some people did.

  • Not entirely down with the annotations. It was like commentary for commentary.

  • Annotes are good DC..but i know how tedious they are. I already did it for 2 LP Lites i did a week or two ago..royal pain in the ass. Boy am i glad i have a Mic again!

  • Truffle Shuffle.....

  • I suggested annotations when they came out and you listened to me! Woo! If they're a pain to make, you should just use them if you forget something.

    Also, old lady punching.

  • You're right; it's too much to assume that he thought of it himself.

  • Sorry for the past unhelpful comment. Now here's a real one:

Annotations, since they're a pain to add in, I don't think you should be showing which way you go when you go 3D, we'll all spare you of that, but you could keep the random jokes, or use, them to mention something you forgot or whatever.

    Bottom line is, they're fun.

  • Annonnations!

  • best when use to fill in miss out DC goodness.

  • One or two annotations in a video for like a joke. Not every video has to have them. As usual awesome job DC!

  • I think I read somewhere that Annie comes from the first Goonies game, only released in Japan.

  • how do you do the pop ups?

  • You know, I never even knew there WAS a candle in the game. I used to guess in those dark rooms. That's the only way I ever got past them.

  • Alright! Goonies 2! This ought to be another great LP, though I'd watch you play any game, really.

The annotations were kind of cool. I'd say do whatever you like. This is supposed to be fun, and if you don't have fun making annotations, don't do it.

  • I love the new format. you dont need to do the comments all the time, just now and then when you have an afterthought. keep it up, DC!

  • I like the comments, but I wouldn't bother noting each direction you go in the 3-D modes.

  • I would throw the annotations in occasionally, if you think they would work in that situation. Like that one guy said, the direction ones are kinda pointless.

  • Yeah. And they're a pain to write in.

  • I'd say you go with the random jokes every once in a while ^^ I agree with theiriw though, they are a bit distracting, so don't overdo it :P

  • i like the annotations but maybe make them a little more easily viewable

  • Annotations were very helpful.

    Also, needs more truffle shuffle.

  • Don't worry about the annotations, doing these must be hard enough.....

  • The random jokes on the annotations are funny. The directions are unnecesary, unless you want to make the LP more complete, like a guide or something. If I ever play this game, I would probably try to figure out the directions alone.

  • Nice vid, keep em coming!

  • lol just saying, though i'd prefer your style any day

  • Personally, I don't like the annotations - there is too much to follow on the screen, and they are very distracting...

I think it's a great idea, but hard to do effectively.

  • Honestly, I like annotations. But, it's your choice. If you don't like making them, don't make them.

  • I like the annotations. If it's too much to ask, however, you don't have to do them.

  • Okay. I have added annotations to this video to help show what's going on. Let me know what you think. There are annotations for first person moving, and some random jokes.

  • I like the annotations. Just don't wear yourself putting them in DC.

  • You liar! You said nobody in their right mind would LP this...oh wait, that explains alot.

  • A Yo-Yo as a weapon? What other game have I beaten has that as a weapon? *Wink*

  • A lot of you are noticing the similarities between this game and La-Mulana. Given that this is a Konami game, it doesn't surprise me. There are definitely Konami-like elements in La-Mulana, sort of a best-of collection.

  • Definately not suprised, just completely forgot about the two-sided dungeon.

And yeah, La-Mulana was meant to be a spiritual sequel to Maze of Galious and Seal of El-Giza, but has elements from many Konami titles, and even other MSX games (such as the Hell Temple "reward")...

It's a love letter. Written in blood. Whose blood, it's best not to ask.

  • "Seal of El-Giza"... Wow, you don't see that one referred to very often. And I totally agree. A good game for a LP. Too bad my english sucks.

  • Well when I saw the maps in LM, I was reminded of this game... which makes sense of course... Doesn't Maze of Galious have a similar map system, too? (I've only seen the PC remake in your other LP)

  • O DC why do you love yo-yo games so?

  • some of the best music ever in video games

  • Don't tell me to feel welcome, DC. You're not my mommy.

  • The Warp Zones and different worlds/areas remind me a little of La Mulana...

  • I love this game , such a great game. Im still trying to buy it but i cant find it anywhere...

  • Front and backsides? I belive this is beginning to look alot like La-Mulana.

  • You just had to play another game where the protagonist kills things with a yoyo, didn't you?

  • Lol, what do you do? To this day, that still doesn't make any sense.

  • For the English impaired:

It means "What are you doing?"

  • this game is so hard when I was a kid... haven't played it in a long time.

  • I doubt the Truffle Shuffle would be that satisfying on the NES.

  • Did the original manual explain the fact that you need to hit certain walls to collect secret items? I hope so...

  • So THAT'S where Mikey came from! I was always curious how Konami stuck Mikey in Wai Wai World. This explains it.

  • Your voice is awesome! You sound like you are constantly high on something :D

  • This reminds me of Dr. Chaos, except this looks much better.

I have to admit, that's a pretty good NES remix of the that old Cyndi Lauper song.

  • Goonies 2? Awesome!

  • So from Jaws to Santa to the Goonies. I think someone broke DC.

The "broke DC" comment can be taken as not involving this video at all, by the way. Stupid comic.

  • Back side areas? Wish I knew that when I was... what was I, ten?

At least you don't have to sanctify any Mantras...

  • Fratelli in Italian means brother...

so... you almost get murdered by a Brother brother?

  • This game's maps and some of the music remind me a bit of Legacy of the Wizard. Generic stone patterns and dramatic slow music for all!

I'm wondering if the guy below me meant "complaints"...

  • Is the music in the room exploring bits the same as the music in the cabin exploring buts in Friday the 13th on NES?

  • lol chunk owes u a trufle shufle

  • YES!!!

    I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVEE this game!

I just beat it for the first time very recently, and it may be one of the best games ever. Forget what Irate Gamer says... play this now!

  • One of the games i always wanted, but never got as kid. Thanks for showing me, DC. Thanks a lot.

  • Say...is this another game that lets you use a yo-yo as a weapon?

  • They are so few in number!

  • Don't forget you can equip a Yo-yo in Earthbound. Also, Rygar's thing is kind of like a yo-yo.

  • Lol, you kill stuff with a YO-YO :O And you also hit the walls and items appear. Weird game :/

  • TRUFFLE SHUFFLE

Damn i laughed my ass when he did that in the movie

  • woah woah woah...bats? backside areas? ladders? Has Mikey stumbled into La-Mulana?

  • I was *hoping* someone would've pointed that out... even the map system seemed kinda similar.

  • Nice choice DC, I was hoping you'd hit this game eventually :)

(though I still have my fingers cross for Dr. Chaos)

  • That music inside the doors sounds far too much like Zelda music...

  • Lol, he's killing stuff with a yo-yo. He also punches a wall and gets the explosives :D .

  • This game is great! I'll make a movie out of it!

  • dude, that guy totally walk hacks!

  • It's kind of sad of me that I didn't even know what the Truffle Shuffle was from until now...

  • Gotta put those old people in their place. That candle-hiding business has gone too far!

  • lawlz you hit old people to gain scented wax you burn!

  • I was under the impression the mermaid was mentioned in the movie.

  • I just saw it and this is clearly false.

  • You're probably thinking of the octopus that Data mentions near the end. The sequence was edited out of most versions, probably because, well, tentacles....

  • Yeah, there are a few versions where you can see that scene as an extra, but none that I've seen have that scene in the movie itself. Just like the convenience store scene (which I only know of because HBO actually showed it, but not the DVD).

  • Uh oh, I'm getting shades of Dr. Chaos. That's not good. On the other hand, TRUFFLE SHUFFLE

Actually, I've never watched that movie all the way through. Consider me green for this LP!

  • The first person exploration sections aren't nearly as painful as Dr. Chaos because no turning is involved. You can never see the south wall, but that's okay.

  • I can get behind this! It features virtual muggings!

  • Glad to see a new LP!

    Gonna love this one.

    Your the best DC.

And be careful, They may Knit you a Sweater.

    That itches!

  • Sorry for asking, but where does that "you got the touch, you got the power" thing come from? I've seen it before and I was thinking Captain Planet or something, but if you can tell me exactly what it is I'd appreciate it XD Anyways, keep it up! Whether it be... Punching old ladies who lost their glasses, or throwing yoyos at murdurous animals and people with suits!
