  • HF is perfect for people who fix there own stuff, however if you plan to run a business you need something that you can count on working and withstand the abuse and HF really doesn't fit that, not that HF doesn't make a quality tool cause they do but it's not a 100% going to work day in day out tool. I managed to get everything I need for to fix my AC for less than half of a dealership charges so yea...

  • how should my gauges read for my central ac system

  • If someone is serious about going into HVAC business or to become a tech in this field should considering investing in a real good quality geages. Harbor Freight known to carried a very low quality tools. No offense to HB-Freight store or the loyal customers but I had shopped there and had bad experiences. HVAC Techs, invest in a good brand good quality tools.

  • @thisisnotyours1

Agreed. For the occasional user like myself, they work fine. I was able to buy all the parts and tools to do the job on my truck for less than it would have cost to pay someone to do it for me - and now I have the experience and the tools to maintain my own mobile A/C.

HF has some decent quality stuff and some really cheap stuff. These are closer to the decent quality end of the spectrum, I believe.

  • @thisisnotyours1 if tool has moving part, Harbor Freight is really junk.

  • General Direct from Harbor Freight, right, got some on sale with super coupon for 24.00, myself.

  • when replacing condensor, due to a leak... and evacutationg the system,

should the oil be added, frist is one can enough?... most care or is that 2much?

or is r134a added frist then the oil... please comment

  • superheat/subcool say any more?

  • R-134 Alpha Guages!!! from Harbor Freight

  • Good eye! Yes, they are.

  • you most likley have a resitriction in the low side of the system

  • do you know why would the low pressure side is 80psi while high is at 100? thats what I'm having.

I know low should be 30 and high a bit higher. but can't gat the comp to suck gas.

    tks

  • I made the video last summer, but as I recall is was between 70°F and 80°F at the time.

I did pull a good vacuum for over an hour before charging the system. The old compressor had a leak around the pump body so I replaced it, the receiver/dryer and the orifice tube then recharged the system.

    Still working well today!

  • whats ambient air temperatures because that has to do alot with ur gauge readings and did you vacuum the lines before recharging
