  • i saw the EXACT same thing on Jonathan ross

  • Carrot top after. LOL

  • "and because we're Americans, THERE'S A POTATO!!!"

  • I replayed it after they finished it the first time without knowing the trick that well before hand and was able to work it out :)

  • "Where did the potato come from?"

    Probably Idaho.

  • How was he there In 2010, If this was uploaded In 2006.

  • omg! glaods is in this!

  • I always get pissed when people do this trick because I can never catch the movements, even though I know how it is done in a theoretical sense.

  • just did this at the royal variety

  • I've mastered this trick now. Why does this video have over a million views it's not like they're world famous

  • @12151998able they are world famous. it's nice taht you've mastered it, but that doesn't make the trick "fun". and their version is genius. it's no longer about the magic, but about the performance.

  • @troglodyto i n=know that it's about presentation. and i do make it fun, trust me. But i respect your opinion and u r right. It's about the presentation

  • @12151998able Yes they are....

  • ITS A MOTHA-- FUCKING-- POTATO!!!! xD

  • i think there meant to make it hard to understand

  • This video is a lot better quality of the same trick:

    /watch?v=8osRaFTtgHo

  • the layout of the seats pisses is infuriating.

  • Teller has the coolest job ever

  • IT A POTATO.............A REAL POTATO

  • Comment removed

  • was that a potato?

  • its a FUCKING POTATO HAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Show me someone do that trick with a t-shirt on!

  • Search Kendama's!

  • i bet the secret preparation is preparation H.

  • I loved the "And this is not juggling, this is misdirection!"

  • i hate that you can hear the broads in the background.

  • @Poundcakes hahaha

  • Don't watch the rest of the video. It's just a bunch of gossiping women.

  • There i was thinking "YES I CAN SEE HOW THEY DO IT!" but they show it all at the end...

  • penn and swellar

  • LOL I love these guys - they're more than welcome to the non-magical castle <3

  • good video until you see the c*nT's from the view

  • Penn must Realy LOVE, or HATE the potato xxD

  • Wow thats awsome :)

  • That takes SKILL! Even though I already knew how it is done, it still is impressive the way some magicians can do it really well.

  • watch teller's hand at 1:40 DO IT!

  • potato!

  • I found it hard to keep up even with the clear cups!

  • @RaunchyLobster It's because it really was magic! :p

  • @RaunchyLobster I think that is one of the ideas. Even if you know how it's done, the years of practice have the final word in performing the trick.

  • I would like to see this without multiple cameras cutting back and forth.

  • @plejarenmasterrace why does this guy feel the need to reduce his arguments to personal attacks? makes me think he has insecurity issues.

  • I'm just curious. Does Teller have a disability or is it just a matter of him not wishing to speak? I found it very strange that he never says anything!

  • @Coetzeeful yeah he just chooses not to speak. ive heard him speak a few times :)

  • @Coetzeeful Teller usually does not speak during performance, but he speaks normally when not in performance.

  • @Coetzeeful What happened was when Teller first started doing magic. He was terrible, and would always get into arguments with people taunting him. He then stopped speaking in his shows, and realised people would heckle him much less. And it caught on.

  • This is a really awful program. Penn and Jillete are awesome as always

  • @MillionMillionBirds Penn and Jillete?

  • god *

  • His kid looks like Teller.

  • 3:29 The POTATO :)

  • @MrSigma tell me how Jesus died and came back alive three days later. Religion is fake? Your fake.

  • Easy, Religion's are unprovable, evoloution is.

  • @speeddemon1226 Tell me how their is no God? Tell that their is no heaven? You can prove nothing either, thats why its faith. I dont want to argue with you just be respectful of others view.

    ps

I also like how you cant even state that religion is fake you have to ask with a ?

  • @reallyletsdoit That's excactly the problem, you can't prove God. There is an infinite amount of things you can't prove, so how do you distinct one thing from another? To do that you use proof and evidence, and there is no proof or evidence for god. Therefor (for now) the logical and rational conclusion: there is no god.

  • @reallyletsdoit

By default there is no god. There is no reason or evidence to believe one exists and therefore is an assertion. The burden of proof is on you. Its up to you to back up your assertion and prove your claims. You cannot "proove" the inexistence of a god just as you cannot proove the inexistence of invisble pink unicorns. However, religion can be falsified which means whatever particular god that is connected to it, can also be falsified. God may be unprovable but YOUR god is!

  • @speeddemon1226 lol, is this related to the video clip?

  • He sure is enthusiastic about that damn potato

  • @ReachGameplay That's cause it's a DAMN POTATO! Not just any old potato!

  • i do this with a grenade, but then the kicker is a appearing the pin in someones hand :) people only see this trick once sadly :(

  • @conradcoolio Now that is a statement I can respect. While you and many others have been using "facts" from unproven sources, I'm fine respecting your belief if you are doing so for your personal benefit, and for concluding the argument without attacks.

  • they remind me of Laural and Hardy

  • @MrSigma i bet ur a virgin u nerdy fuck

  • @EvILMoNKey9427

I am a nerd alright, but how can I be a "fuck" and "virgin" at the same time? Amazing to see so much hatred in a musician like you. I thought musicians appreciated the viewpoints of others. Sad.

  • i saw that the first time x.x they are good but still

  • that is balls on the wall crazy! :D

  • Love them

  • At 1:11 the fat guy puts the ball inside the cup. =)

  • Why does everyone hate these two?

  • @iiJoshbromley They broke all the rules of the magic circle, and theyre abit irritating.

  • Great=] but hey, @MrSigma and every other arguer, through confusing points and crap, what are you exactly trying to say (in simplest form)?

And if you argue with any one these days (especially on the Internet, where EVERYONE can see) don't expect respect=P

And don't call it your own argument, if it was, it would be a private message of some sort. But, it's a comment. People read them, anyone could.

  • the first time they did it, i saw teller put the ball under the cup whilst penn was juggling but apart from that, very good

  • They have to do stuff over and over again to keep the standard high.

  • lol at penn and teller they are jokes

  • its obvious that teller puts a ball under the middle cup at 1:14

  • i like how people say ' oh its so obvious how he did that he just slides it under crap trick'' in a video where they show you what they do haha you guys are well smart and how can a simple slight of hand trick start up a massive argument of religion you believe he doesnt get over it isnt the main thing of christianity turn the other cheek?? argue on real forums leave the comments for comment about this....... these guys are fantastic showmen i would love to see them live

  • something goes into the last cup at 0:57 (right hand below table before placing last one)

  • Even though Penn and Teller revealed how to do this trick, you'd still haveta be good with slide of hand to fool the crowd. Amazing!!!

  • i havent seen these guys in forever :)

  • theSpew

  • i was wondering have there every been any magic ticks that have never been found out how they are done and have there ever been any magician that have died with great tricks and not told any1 so they are lost forever. just wondering

  • Clear plastic cups and yet I STILL CAN'T KEEP UP!

  • Check out Andre Kole. He is far more sophisticated than these two who are akin to the three stooges (the fat one counts for two of the stooges). The brains behind their act is also the brains behind criss angel...johnny thompson.

  • For Andre Kole... youtube.com/watch?v=DGFHQpuXbjQ

  • 77 people want a potato

  • "So how are you holding up? Because I'M A POTATO"

  • it must b in thier bit 2 not ever hav teller speak. it strkes me as odd

  • @cruelbusiness1984 ironic isnt it? that teller doesnt speak... yeh its a part of their show, he rarely speaks....

  • these guys r brilliant :)

  • 7:04 "Right back with Carrot Top."

Let me get this straight, Penn and Teller's act was a warm up for the main event Carrot Top? It's like holding a heavy weight pro boxing match in preparation for the finals of Bum Fights.

  • You see where Teller slides the ball under at 0:55 when he places the third cup he uses his other hand to slide the ball under.

  • A REAL POTATO!!!

Penn and Teller are the coolest magicians ever.

  • 76 people don't like potatoes

  • Then the interview starts at 3:36, so I stopped you should stop at 3:36.

  • The first part of the trick was basic slight of hand, the rest Penn and Tellers secret stash, a potato.

  • Can you do this with just one guy?

  • 76 magicians :D

  • Magic potato!

  • Obvious at 1:40 if you watch closely

  • its obvious how he does the 3 under the cup at 1:34

  • @lankinator24

    yea..... just replayed an noticed

  • although clear cups, it is still amazing, fast hands

  • TELLER IS SO CRAFTY! God these guys are legends

  • Hahaha when i first saw the title I thought someone will be cupping someones balls.

  • such a shit trick, everytime that mute one sets the cup down he puts sumfin under it with his right hand

  • THE DAMN POTATOE

  • Even after watching this I still don't get it and Ive watched this a few times now. Those slick buggers are fast!

  • I liked the part that Penn was talking

  • @fuckyousonsofbitches You mad, bro?

  • anyone know of a show that also portrayed magic secrets but was done by a guy who wore a mask? That's all I remember from it.

  • @Lpedraja2002

The "Masked Magician".....i think the show was "Magic Revealed"....he is on youtube.com though!

    hope that helps.

  • @Lpedraja2002

    'The megicians code'.

  • Gotta love those real potatos, as opposed to those damn fake chinese potatos, they look real they smell real but when you take a bite all you get is tofu and chinese newspaper.

  • When Penn and Teller produce potatos under cups, people applaud their skills and call them magicians and have a good laugh. But when one guy produced wine from water 2000 years ago in a similar performance, the ancestors of these very same people called him divine. Why so? Is 2000 years the difference between miracle and magic?

  • @MrSigma It wasn't just 2000 years ago. There are still people do trick people and claim it's divine or supernatural forces. The difference is that penn&teller tell you they're going to fool you, you pay them money, and they fool you and you go home entertained knowing you've been fooled. Psychics, astrologers etc lie and claim they have supernatural powers and take your money, and you go home thinking you paid for a legitimate service, but in fact you've been scammed. That's the difference.

  • @MrSigma because we can SEE Penn and Teller.

  • @MrSigma Raising people from the dead, feeding thousands from food meant for one person, curing every disease and hurt imaginable and spreading love, tolerance, and forgiveness is what made Jesus divine, you Christianity hating asshole. Oh, and coming back to life after being crucified, dead and buried sorta counts as being divine as well. People come to see a youtube video of Penn and Teller doing their thing and you have to pollute it by insulting religion. Way to go. Do you feel all superior?

  • @CJC1295DAC

Looks like abusing others by calling them as "assholes" is your true "Christian" virtue ! I have not abused anyone in my comment but you have shown your true fanatical nature by personally attacking me. As for me poluting this video is considered, your comment is completely non-sequitur. Since all observed "miracles" are nothing but magic tricks performed by magicians, we can safely conclude that Jesus along with all prophets and gurus who showed "miracles" were all tricksters !

  • @CJC1295DAC

    Continuing further,

Recounting biblical tales of fantasies does not make them genuine. It only shows that your mind is trapped in tales of childhood indoctrination. A small lollipop was given to you in your childhood and you still hold on to it like a kid. Also, correlating magic tricks of a bygone era with those of modern illusionists is not called polluting videos.

Yes, religion does pollute young minds by enslaving them into perpetual slavery. Prove your claims with evidence.

  • @MrSigma Did they supposedly raise from the dead?

  • @MrSigma - Um, what are you talking about?

I have yet to see Penn and Teller, David Blaine, or Criss Angel raise the dead, or come back to life after three days after being brutally murdered.

Just saying. If Jesus was an illusionist, he was a dang good one.

  • @Dan00bindahouse .... right... nobody has ever faked a violent death in the history of the world...

  • @hellbound102 - So when the Bible says he turned water to wine, and it suits your point, it's true. But when it says he was gruesomely whipped, beaten and hung on a cross, able to count all his own bones and unrecognizable as a man, it's untrue.

And with no intention of sounding rude, this isn't your argument. I was talking to MrSigma.

  • @Dan00bindahouse ok, first off, i said nothing about water into wine you ignorant fool, second off, christianity is not to be shoved down peoples throat through arguments or force, its called free choice, read the bible, its in there, furthermore, i am not here to argue that Jesus doesn't exist, im only saying your examples are crap, you cannot prove Jesus exist by quoting miracles written in the bible, because if somebody doesn't believe in him they wont believe the bible

  • @hellbound102 - You will speak to me respectfully or not at all. To call someone a fool is to say they have nothing to do with God, and I will not be spoken to that way.

Now, as I said, MrSigma WAS referencing the bible in his post. Read it and then come back here. But do it respectfully.

  • @Dan00bindahouse Pffft, who the fuck do you think you are to be giving people orders over the internet? Just read your post and try to comprehend the self-importance and arrogance you exude. It doesn't matter how you want people to talk to you, you will get talked to however we fucking want. Suck it, fool.

  • @morningstomper123 - Then I simply won't reply. My attitude isn't narcissistic, but I do deserve a level of respect from you, just as you do from me.

Otherwise, arguing is pointless, as it only leads to chaos.

Now I suggest you leave alone the arguments that don't concern you.

  • @Dan00bindahouse "Then I simply won't reply" Not really the best line to open a reply with.

"Now I suggest..." That's more like it, I can respect that. Good day.

  • @MrSigma Don't forget they didn't have video cameras then conveniently! ;) Oh and he got some dudes to write and poorly re-translate (etc) a book.

  • @MrSigma

    + this actually happened

  • @MrSigma show me that video, and i will congrats him.

  • @MrSigma You're close. It's 2000 years of science and education. These guys could probably be earning six figures working a day a week as con men, instead they work their asses off six nights a week at the Rio, their hit series "Bullshit" et al. We should be thankful. I'm sure they are.

  • @MrSigma

Figures someone had to bring Jesus in to it eventually.

If Penn & Teller aren't even remembered in 2000 years, you'll know perfectly well then why, 2000 years after Jesus did his tricks, he isn't remembered.

  • @MrSigma I think the same thing....even his resurection, could have been staged with a double. I think the 7 angels were instrumental in perpetuating/executing the miracles...

  • @MrSigma youre so fucking right dude. god damn its finally explained

  • @MrSigma no. shutup.

  • @THECATSATONTHE3Q

Why must I shut up? Using what authority do you ask me to shut up? Please justify your reasons for asking me to shut up. Are they religious reasons? If so, has your religion made you so insecure that you are compelled to say "shut up" to those that do not agree with you? If not, then you asking me to shut up is in itself an irreligious act. Either way, you have no right to ask me to shut up. Internet is a free zone for people to express their opinions.

  • @MrSigma shut up.

  • @MrSigma You see children? MrSigma is what we like to call a 'Troll".

  • @Axion3812

You see children, MrSigma is a scientist trying to educate you.

You see children, the religious fanatics are out there to teach you hatred for people who differ from you.

You see children, one you develop a scientific temperament how you can expose saviors, prophets and gurus?

You see adults, children are more intelligent than you and will recognize the futility of religion one day?

  • @MrSigma I am a child. I am a christian. How does that make me hateful? I'm 17 years old, and at the store I work at I was running register, plenty of Muslims shop there. I had one man from Jordan there. Don't tell me that we're hateful towards others. It's the opposite. If anything, stubborn atheists are exponentially more hateful, preaching about how it's wrong to shove religion down peoples throats, while if you look at it, their the ones doing just that. Granted... some Christians are over t

  • @Axion3812

I never said that all Christians are hateful towards others. I have well meaning Christian friends myself. Nowhere in my original comment have I said anything that should offend anyone. But overall I am continuously getting hateful messages from some fanatics here. To the atheistic mind, it appears obvious to correlate the so called miracles of a bygone era with illusionist tricks of the modern magicians. But those obsessed with Christianity cannot take that and hence so much hate.

  • @MrSigma he top, but there is always going to be the select few who give the others bad names. Same for atheists. Christians. Jews. Muslims. Hindu's. ALL people. Of all beliefs or lack of. So, with all due respect, fuck off.

  • @Axion3812

If you are not hateful why would you and others personally attack me for an innocuous comment? If you read all the messages in the correct order, you will find that I never initiated a verbal attack on anyone. But my mailbox is getting full with hateful messages from fanatics and hence had to reply sternly. Still, I have not used a single expletive or personally abusive remark on anyone. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I have full freedom to express my views without fear.

  • @MrSigma But there is one major difference... one off them really exsited!

  • @MrSigma Nice theory but 45 angry Christians thumbs you down im not christian so ill have to think about that was there a magician 2000 years ago who went by the name jesus who was fooling people who knows?

  • @MrSigma this is a trick, Jesus was devine and used the power of God to help him, this is just trickery, fooling the eyes. talk back to me when someone else turns water into wine

  • @conradcoolio

The very fact that a claim has been made that someone turned water into wine puts the performer of this act in the same league as magicians and illusionists. This is because water and wine have separate chemical compositions and cannot be interchanged unless there was sleight of hand. Also, you know of this story only though a book and hence there is no objective basis on which it should be termed as legitimate. You do it out of faith which by definition lacks reason.

  • @MrSigma i assume you are an athiest correct? The big bang THEORY hasn't been proved by science either. hense its called a THEORY, so u believe by faith aswell.

  • @conradcoolio

The word theory is used in a different sense in science than the way it is used by common people. A theory is the best possible explanation of facts that can be supported by demonstrable evidence. Since infinite arbitrary claims can be made about the nature of reality (by different religions), only those that are supported by experimental proof should be held admissible. Till now, there is no evidence for any religion but overwhelming evidence for theory of evolution and BigBang.

  • @conradcoolio

Oh ignorant little child. Do you know what the word "theory" means in scientific terms? gravity is also a THEORY.. but if you don't believe, i invite you to go to the edge of a nearest cliff, jump, and see if you fly.

  • @conradcoolio

    lol

  • @MrSigma No, it's just that 2000 years later people are smart enough to realize it's fake...

  • @MrSigma all im saying is that it takes faith for both, and i see that both of our opinions are not going to be changed, and btw im 14

  • @conradcoolio

If you are 14 then you are very young and you should have said that earlier. Anyways, because of your age I will not discuss this topic with you anymore and I hope that you find happiness in whatever you do in your life.

Having said that, people change all the time. In fact most atheists were religious in their childhood but as they grew up they educated themselves with science and the futility of religion was obvious. Science is based on evidence and not on faith. Thank you.

  • @conradcoolio

When have you ever heard the word faith being used to describe NOT blieving in something? "I have faith that goblins and fairies do not exist" ?

Probability and logic tell me that a god doesn't exist. They are made of facts not guesses or maybes. No faith is needed.

    tard.

  • @plejarenmasterrace all im saying is that if GOD created science, he isnt bound by its discrepancies.

  • @conradcoolio

If god had the physical capability of "creating" science.. what is the mechanism that allowed him to have that physical capability? he gave himself that ability? well that makes as much sense as saying he created his own existence. That ability was always embedded into his mechanism? well then that means he IS bound by some physical law/limitation which renders the word god as "meaningless" .

  • @plejarenmasterrace see we have the misconception that everything has to be created, because in our world everything has a beginning. God is not bound by this or any other worldly conceptions

  • @conradcoolio

No, YOU have the misconception that the universe had to have a brain behind it, and time and time again that notion has been rendered improbable and absurd. This "god" you speak of, if your gonna give it human characteristics, then it CAN be accountable to the laws of physics and rendered impossible. The 'argument' (if ya wanna call it that) you made for the eternal existence of god, i can make the exact same case for the eternal existence of energy which caused the big bang.

  • @conradcoolio

You havent made an intelligble argument other than "it just does, and you wont understand because your brain isnt designed to". BULLSHIT. This is basically a get out of jail free card and allows to get out of not answering, because you dont actually have an answer.

  • @plejarenmasterrace

eg, me- "explain to me how santa travels around the world in just 12 hours when it takes that amount of time to get to australia from the north pole, alone" you- "he just does, his conception of time in reality is different to yours" That is an example of one of your answers to me. Not intellifent, and you don;t have an actual worth while argument.

  • @conradcoolio

Not to mention. There are so many pertaining flaws and random imperfections in nature and the universe, that it also falsifies the notion of an "infallible" "perfect" god.. how can perfection create such blatant and ugly imperfection? a miscalculaton?

  • @plejarenmasterrace if you've ever read the bible u would realize that this is a stupid question. before sin everything was perfect, but when adam and eve sinned they created a barrier between God and us. God could have started over but because he is a just God he didn't make us robots

  • @conradcoolio

Oh here we go. Yes, because a rib-women who was convinced by a talking snake to eat an apple, that god had planted there purposely, took a hissy fit and therefore future generations of babies deserve to be born with cancer and aids. Yep. Im done responding to you now you little 14 year old retard.

  • @MrSigma well i am not the conformant of youth these days. im a strong christian believer and i am very active in the church. and even if God doesn't exist, being a christian betters my life and that is a fact
