  • How much did Juan and Eva Peron know about the activities of Nazi war criminal Otto Skorzeny? They both should have been thoroughly interrogated by the Israelis.

  • Evita remains a sadly dismissed film. It's not perfect but deserves much higher praise than it has received to date. The directing, the musical score, Antonio Bandera's intense performance as Che' is nothing less than stellar and Madonna-one of the most reviled and hated actresses ever-delivers a remarkable, emotional and award winning portrayal of Eva Peron. Though some see it as nothing more than a long form music video- Madonna truly is an actress here & deserves respect for this film.

  • Madonna did a great job in this musical movie about Evita, great honor to Madonna and ofcourse the real Evita. And Marilyn Monroe to but she hadn´t enything to do with it, but i adore her to.

  • Still the worse film I have ever seen, it was a complete assult on the ears.

  • @Manoo62 Since this is as you claim to be the worse (excuse me WORST) film you have ever seen, you clearly don't get out much. I find it completely unbelieveable that this film...out of the millions of films released upon humanity since the early 1900's, you find this film to be the worse of the worse. Or should be it be should WORST of the WORST? Clearly you have a Madonna issue and have taken this moment to voice it as a thinly veiled review of this film.

  • @valleyguy72 I was a fan of Madonna in the early days but she lost the plot in the late 90's when she started believing her own press. Evita was a total assault on your ears from start to finished. I cant ever remember feeling so mentally drained and glad it was all over after watching any other film. Clearly the other half of the audience felt the same after only half an hour of it. Hand on heart I have never seen people leave a cinema on mass like that before, truly dreadful.

  • Fantastic! Her acting is so great!

  • This video proved that she's also an excellent actress, flawless! I love her

  • excellent

  • The director was amazing for this movie, but I feel like Madonna was such a let down. This song is Eva's final stand. There is so much more that she could have done to make it great. Also, Patti Lupone's "A New Argentina" far surpasses anything Madonna can ever do

  • @JAKEHasArrived Let me tell you that Patti might be amazing but she was not a good eva...for us, here in ARGENTINA this performance was more real than the any one portrayed on brodway before. Every Evita before were like a scream queens...passion is not screaming while singing.

  • she can act ...when she wants...:)

  • @cryingpurpletears13 at 33 years of age. far too young...

  • @Dogos73: She was 38 at this time!

  • @EurovisionFan1990 They were talking about Eva. She dies at 33.

  • I've never been a big Madonna fan nor had anything against her, but she did a great job in this film, it requires a big range for an actress. I would have like to see her tackle other substantial roles. Would have been interesting.

  • This song was so awesome...in fact the whole movie is! And this part still makes me cry.

  • magic...

  • best actress!

  • every actor gets that one moment that defines their acting career, for madonna it was evita. she won the golden globe and yes she was snubed by the oscors, after all maybe they saw it as one long music video. lets be honest that is when she is her best. love her but she aint a good actress and that is something she herself has always said.

  • Magnificent!

  • Awesome !

  • The last few minutes of EVITA from "Eva's Final Broadcast" to "Lament" feature the best acting moments of Madonna's ill-fated career as an actress. She simply pulled it together and gave an incredible performance.

  • @Joseebus She had a director who could actually direct her.

  • I can't believe she wasn't nominated for an oscar for this dumbasses!

  • Crying..... i love you M...

  • that light switching off gives me goosebumps everytime. fits perfectly "how i lived, how they shone, but how soon the lights were gone" Amazing.

  • I hate that i find this scene sad because i'm pretty sure you are not supposed to feel sorry for eva peron. The woman had what was coming to her. Yes nobody deserves to die but at least her death helped the argentines to realise how dreadful she really was and how much damage she caused

  • @pearlypops I'm from Argentina and trust me ... your opinion about her is totally from somebody who did not read alot ... start by using the internet more and inform your self THANK YOU!!!

  • PIANO TEACHER plays MADONNA DANCE MUSIC !

  • i was about to cry in the middle of class when we watched this!

  • Looks like I;m gonna cry :'(

  • I haven't seen this musical, or the film. Why does she die?

  • @MonMartian cervical cancer, caused by her whoring around and her abuse of the Argentine people.

  • @evaperonwasbad Yes, the movie shows here in a very good light. She got to the top by prostituting herself out to powerful men. Then, she stole money from her charity foundation to use on her fancy dresses.

  • @sara7977 If I may, the casting couch was how all actresses got parts back then? Not that I'm defending Eva, I'm not at all, but all actresses were basically prostitutes. Her marriage to Peron, though, was basically the end of her climb up the ladder and she became so infatuated with him that she discarded her acting career for him. And she also forced the poor to contribute one day's pay to the foundation It was theft from both the rich and the poor.

  • @sara7977 also, if I may, I love Madonna's music, but her political views and her view of Eva Peron are very warped. The only good thing Eva did was give women the vote, but in doing that, she stole the accomplishment from real Argentine feminists like Victoria Ocampo and Alicia Moreau de Justo who had worked for generations to get women the vote. It would be the equivalent of some actress saying she'd gotten American women the vote when the credit goes to the feminists of the first wave here.

  • @GoddessofCoruscant Oh boo-freakin-hoo, sorry sweetie but your statement is warped. Fact is Evita was responsible for passing this bill. Had those women you mentioned been successful they would have gotten the credit. They didn't, Evita did so she rightfully gets the credit & also for pushing for womens equality & equal pay. Don't like it? Too freakin bad. You can't change history sweetie just because you dislike the woman. I seem to find you in every Evita video & bashing her. Bitter much?

  • @tabugirl I have been to Argentina. I've seen firsthand what her politics did to that country. Being pro capitalist, pro USA and pro women's rights, I cannot support her. Socialism doesn't work because by taking the wealth away, everyone just becomes poor. The intolerant ones are Peronists. One Peronist even told me the bank should take away my house simply because I'm a capitalist. How's THAT for bitter?

  • @GoddessofCoruscant I find it hilarious, I mean LOL, that everyone who doesn't agree with your views and politics are warped. There is more than enough room in this world sweetie for more than one opinion & I for one commend madonna for actuallly researching this woman. she did the research and based her opinion on that. Heaven forbid it contradicts yours. Who are you? The end all of all political debates? Hardly sweetie, hardly. Tah tah.

  • @tabugirl I find it appaling that you support a regime that took a country from first to third world status. Your comments towards me are also very hateful simply because I do not worship your 'Santa Evita.' I researched her too.

  • @sara7977 Try a little harder on your research sweetie. Eva was NEVER a prostitute, there is no evidence of any kind that she ever was. she may have had lovers but please name me one actress who hasnt had lovers. Secondly, her charity did a lot more than pay for fancy dresses. Try building hundreds of hospitals, schools, orphanages, homes & the list goes on & on & on.

  • @evaperonwasbad well either way it's a great song. Eva doesn't sound like a wonderful person, but the song is very good.

  • Comment removed

  • @DeanaUSA I think it was more 'cause here own mother died of cancer when he was like 5 or 6 years old, the same age Eva was when her father died.

  • Madonna truly did justice to this film. She shined like the brightest fire!

  • Madonna did a fine job here even though she really has no talent also her whole carriage and look was almost perfecly match to Eva!

  • Muito emocionante.

  • i always cry at this movie

  • madonna was not in her teens and seems to be an adolescent eva. perhaps she was a little exceedeed in weight when she was dieing but you should know she was about to give birth... that proves she's AN ACTRESS

  • "almost hear the camera cranking up for each scene".... geez, someone is grasping at straws to find things to hate about this movie.

  • You need to get a life and stop hating. hating fits no one. Leave the woman alone, at least she made her millions from the movie and won an award. What do you have except bad mouthing people that are way better than you financially and otherwise online. Here's a thought for all you haters of celebs, they do not even know that you exist - as such GO AND GET A LIFE, AND UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER.

  • she portrayed that role impeccably, it was and is a musical. Madonna gave 110% in her portrayal of Eva Peron, i feel your criticism is one of a personal attack on the celebrity that is Madonna. Some people dislike her thus feel it difficult to separate the iconic musician from whatever role she is playing, i totally disagree with your comments and suggest millions of others would do to. The film won masses of praise from around the world which was reflected in its Oscar and Golden Globe wins.

  • @dreza4 i heard somewhere late at night madonna actually loses sleep because you think her acting was bad. haha. those millions and that oscar just wasn't enough.

  • It was in her bed that Evita voted for the first time like every other woman in Argentina that day!

  • its the best proof that madonna it's a good actress.

  • Madonna is a very capable actress, she chose the wrong roles and was let down by lacklustre scripts and greedy directors eager to cash in on her amazing legacy. Madonna acts all the time, to put on a show as great as hers takes more skill and professionalism than any actress could ever muster in a directed and scripted film. Could Cameron Diaz or Julia Roberts do what she does on stage? No. Madonna has conquered all fors of entertainment just like Cher, she should be proud of herself.

  • @benjo231 Thank you!! :) Love her or hate her, Madonna is a LEGEND!

  • @benjo231 Acting as a persona is way different than as a character in a film.

  • @benjo231 she is a very good singer!

  • i cried when i saw this part.. her voice is so touching! <3

  • @musicminded2012 Cervical cancer metastases

  • Best part of the movie! The emotion is so real. I love it.

  • i almost cried now..

  • ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ The marvelous Miss Teresa

Teng remains the world's best singer.

  • nadie mejor qe esther goris para esta pelicula

  • I cant believe I call myself a Madonna fanatic when I have never seen this movie... that scene was incredible; definitely going to make a point to watch it now.

  • This movie is amazing. By far my favorite musical. I honestly believe Madonna payed Eva Peron perfectly.

  • @1122styes Miss Ciccone did herself proud in this movie.

  • oh shit i'm crying! i love You Madonna, you were amazing in this movie!

  • verry touching.

  • Madonna is amazing in this film...now if she could stop doing other shitty movies and do more like this then she can get an Oscar to add to her Grammys.

  • this makes me cry every time i watch it

  • God she was so awesome in this movie.

    Make's me cry.

    ''How they shone''

    Ahh, that get's me... =(

  • ive seen this film twice all the way through now and it got me both times even though i knew it was coming

    so sad

madonna is amazing in this film :)

  • evita should be me walter and bono should be che

  • sad! but she is great.. i love her.. the Queen Madonna

  • Evita Peron was a Legend , 100% she was great.

  • OMG.....this is great,,MADONNA you was brilliant in this movie

  • In this scene Madonna makes me crying. It's very very sad! And the song is very beautiful.

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE

  • Evita Perón is legend !!

  • impresionante!!!

  • man i love this madonna was great in it i cry every time

  • Notice that she doesn't have her brown contacts in for this scene?

  • I think this movie brought out the true beauty of her I thought didn't exist.

  • not you again...

  • Only Madonna could play that part, she was born for it and deserved her Golden Globes, bravo

  • @starmick5 I second that. I believe that Miss Ciccone should have been nominated for an Oscar.

  • @starmick5 Madonna always said that playing Eva Peron was one of her greatest dreams, I think no one else could do it better than her. When the light turn off on the window, I get a chill, it's so emotional

  • why was I thumbed down? It's obvious I've done the research and ALW's fans have not!

  • INCREIBLE!!!

  • SHINY TOOTH!

  • Evita is legend !

  • Having completed a novel on Eva Peron, I must say that this death scene is not realistic. I do not believe with all the research I have done that Eva Peron regretted what she had achieved. This death scene represents ALW's view of women rather than the true story of Eva Peron.

  • i think you are not understanding the song. shes singing that she wouldve rather have achieved all that she did in her short life rather than have a long life without any achievements.." or esle i could choose time" the lyrics show that she felt she had a fulfiling life.

  • I agree with gvsu11md from the movie and musical is saying. I did it ! I didn't live lond, but i lived ! and did what i wanted. She is telling her story of just achieving everything she wanted!

  • Why do you think that she's regretting it in this scene?? It's not that at all...

  • because she's crying...

  • Madonna has a new fan after seeing this movie. She is amazing as Evita!

  • E' meraviglioso e troppo triste, mi viene da piangere. Madonna qui è "UNICA"

    e' mer

  • how come she did not get the oscar???????

  • She was not even nominated for an oscar that year yet she won the Golden Globe for her role. Even though she was not nominated she was still classy enough to go to the Oscars and perform a song from the movie.

  • my late grandmother loved this film much it is so beautiful that leela m'crarrson find it good for her children and husband and the rest of the band.

  • aw so sad. :(

i remember Madonna saying this scene was particuarly hard for her to do, but the crying scene wasnt too hard because it reminded her of her mother and her death. her tears were real.

  • she was genious.what a role.congrats madonna

  • esta cancion siempre me recordara al amor de mi vida

  • lo siento =(

  • this gimme goosebumps!!! such a creat scene

  • omg!!!!!!!! she should have be given that year's oscar!!!!

  • i second that, at least the golden globe was for her!

  • this movie is amazing!!

  • I love this movie

  • Are you kidding this is great!!! About every other movie she's done is crap but not this one.

  • this is so sad :(

i watched this film/musical for the first time earlier today and was as good as crying during this bit

    madonna is awesome

long live the queen of pop!

  • me parece bien lo que hizo madona ;) porque puede inspirar a que mas jovenes y gente de otros paises se interesen en la historia y lo que fue Eva Duarte (Eva Perón)

  • hmm while you are right there what your negleting to tell these folks is that her husband FIRST wife also died of cervical cancer form std....... which its more then likely that she caught it from peron!

  • Well since you brought it up Che's (Antonio Banderas) first wife died from the exact same cause. What does that say?

  • That the choice was hers and no one else's.

  • LMAO!

  • but the third wife never got it and Peron himself he had any std disease. thirdly it might just have been conwinsendence sorry i think i spelt the word wrong. you get cervical cancer or uterine cancer which ever one she died of without having sex with someone and u must remeber evita was sexually active before Peron so she could have gotten it from anyonelse and finally they not sure which one she died of whether it was cervical or uterine. only evita, peron and their circle know

  • haven't seen the movie yet... how did Eva Peron die?

  • she died of cervical cancer

  • Cancer :'(

  • cool actauction great

  • Madonna was stunning.

  • ITA, the entire cast was brilliant. Madonna

was awesome and casting Jonathan Price as Jaun Peron and Antonio Bander-

    as as Che was genius.

  • I hate this seen, 'cause its so sad /;

Its a great movie, love it<3

  • Is it just me, or are others bothered by the (bad) dental bridge she wore in this scene (to conceal her upper gap)? The lighting seems to highlight it...

  • it's just you...

  • your the one who will burn

  • Very touching scene. Wish they had kept the 2nd verse from the original Broadway play: "

The choice was mine and no one else's. I could have the millions at my feet. Give my life to people I might never meet, or else, to children of my own. Remember, I was very young then, thought I needed the numbers on my side. Thought the more that loved me, the more loved I'd be, but such things cannot be multiplied.... Oh my daughter, oh my son, understand wh at I have done."

  • kedvencfilm és kedvenc sztár ő az isten és ez mindig is így lesz.(L)

ha igazibol meghalna akkor mennék utána.:(

  • wow... i can't believe it... it actually brought me to tears! especially when the lights turned off... and she tried to sing until the last few breaths of her life... (in the movie) =)

  • She won a Golden Globe for best actress in a musical comedy with her excellent performance in this movie. She was pregnant to her doughter at the time. Great song, great actress, great star. Long live the Queen with your children.

  • Uhm

    isn't it 'Evita's death'

    because of the

    genitive or something...

    well, better leave it ;-)

  • wankkerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • llore con esta escena y eso k odio los musicales

  • Eva died so young. 33yrs of age. I feel bad for her. Even badder for Juan Peron. Seeing her for the last time. Che's part kind of creeps me out.

  • greatestttttttttt movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I actually have never seen this movie but I am familiar with the original cast recordings. This is one of my favourite songs from the musical and its a shame that they did it in this style. Such a great song, didn't deserve to be sung a capella and in a gasping manner.

  • they went for acting instead of singing, Madonna might have the weakest voice of the Evitas, but she had the best acting scenes, especially this one. i know its a musical, but this look more real sang this way.

  • que porqueria la cara como una torta mal madona mal

  • god she should have gotten an oscar...she is art...wow

  • people obviously dont get the point to this scene this is evas final moments and she is reliving them with jaun saying that even if she could have traded them for a longer life she wouldnt have the voice is raspy and shallow as she is dying from cancer at 33 years of age watch the film read the boi then you will understand

  • "People" also don't know how to use punctuation and proper grammar.

  • madonna estaba un poco gordita para interpretar esta escena de los momentos finales de EVITA
