  • j'adore cette chanson qui fait partie de mes "classiques" immuables.je ne conçois même pas de faire un cd sans elle et bobby golsborro (honey) écoutez si vous ne connaissez pas c'est tellement reposant et beau...

  • what a gorgeous voice. it just goes to show you that a great voice isn't always enough. exposure, circulation, the record label you recorded with, how they promote you, stage presence. how many talented artist i have had the priviledge of listening to in the last 5 years that i had never heard of before even though i was born in this era. thank you youtube

  • Timi was unfortunately overlooked by the public, beguiled by the powerful voice of a young girl Brenda Lee, and did she have a voice. So Timi became an also ran, but she should have been a Derby Winner

  • version of ELVIS is beautiful

  • @jeanphilippe21220 a female version of elvis just as good

  • Timi says it all. 5 stars,

  • You look back and wonder what happened to people like Timi. Back in the day she was one of my favorites. Great voice, delivery and she performed excellent material. I love this.

  • Think about it. How many singers with this power and range and magic come along in our lifetime. I am sixty six and fell in love with this girl forever. Where are the voices like these? I sure do miss her.

  • I can't even guess who could do it today.

  • gee what a voice I can even guess who could do it today.

    dam good!

  • Beautiful!

I'm a massive fan of PJ Proby but have to say that this version by Timi beats PJ hands down!

  • magic. There will never be another like Timi

  • I love you!

  • Many sincere thanks to "Kinyoman" for posting Timi Yuro, that song and the photos, a true thrill to hear her powerful vocals...just dripping with emotion. I was about 13 or 14 years old when I first heard her sing "Hurt"...it really got under my skin and Timi became a favorite at first listen. I also had a teenage crush on her as well...She was ( is! ) a real beauty with a rare vocal sound and power...Wow, I love her, and always will be in love with this song.

  • Are you a good person?

Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a women with lust u have committed adultery with her in your heart.

If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? The Bible teaches despise the value of your eye compared to the value of your soul. would u sell your eye for a million dollars? And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. needgod.com

  • @standingontruth1 And what does your proselytization have to do with this song?

  • you really hurts me.....you breaks my heART....B'coz i still love you so....

  • Timi had such a wonderful, powerful and emotional voice, and sung Hurt to its best potential magnificence. She unfortunately chose songs from that particular era which were also recorded by more popular entertainers of the time and so therefore they got more airspace, but she was and still is tremendous.

  • This lovely lovely moving song by Timi Yuro takes me back to magical times growing up in lovely lovely Liverpool

  • Great song the only other version that is as good was elvis

    WHAT A VOICE SHE HAS!

  • TIMI YURO AND CONNIE FRANCIS WERE LEGENDS NOT LIKE THIS JUNK THEY CALL MUSIC TODAY.

  • So dont then xxx

  • As a recording artist and stage performer, I performed this song . Hard as hell to sing. I made sure that Ms Yuro was given the props as the orginal performer before Elvis. A great song is just that, a great song. We all try to sing them. But??? Give props where they are due.

  • I only heard this song a few weeks ago and now I can't get it out of my head. It made me cry.... Who sings like this anymore? How beautiful.

R.I.P. - Ich trage ein Licht für Dich

  • eto pala ang english version ng aray ni mae rivera..

  • This song goes deep!

  • The best song ever

  • I've never heard this song before..... iT'S a BREAT SONG

  • Timi Yuro's best song.a timeless classic.

  • Fantastic ...beautifyl

  • Timi and Brenda Lee define a brief era of pop romantic ballads that will last forever, especially, for those moving through junior and senior high in the early to mid-sixties. It is a testament to the quality of writing and production that these tunes have withstood an onslaught of (some perfunctory) changes to musical taste and style since that period of time.

  • One of the greatest torch songs ever !!

  • I've always known Juice Newton's version (and actually thought Juice wrote it).... but this is SO hauntingly beautiful. So glad I found this.

  • For years I thought she was black. Sing girl! LOL!

  • @MelodyMaker151 yet another singer of Italian background :) boy they can sing.........see Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennet, Perry Como, Al Martino, Connie Francis, Frankie Valli, Mario Lanza, Franco Corelli, Mina, etc etc etc......

    bella canzone! x

  • How could 21 people not like this song ? I don't think it really matters what kind of music you like this is a well sung song from a ( REAL SINGER ) !

  • FANTASTICA CANZONE, CANTATA CON TANTA PASSIONE! NON PUO' ESSERE MAI DUPLICATA!!!!

  • Thank you so much for this song... She was something else, wasn't she?

  • beautiful!!!

  • One of the Best.. R.I.P.

  • Wow what can you say, what a powerful voice and beautiful song, i did hops with brenda when i was singing with tony and the raindrops back in early 60"s, great girl.

  • lets now see how elvis did with Hurt..eddie arnolds make the world go away was good but the soul was not crying

  • one fine voice...one super classic recording by this Chicago native.....

  • class abslolute class

  • Wow, what a voice. She was great. The woman could sing. Thank you for the post.

  • Great Song,Great Voice,One of the Best

  • The best artist i have head, and the Best song i have ever heard. She was Just great,

  • anyone with a 'good' ear dislikes ANYTHING that Timi Yuro......EVER......did!!! You are idiot's.....she's been my all time favorite female artist since the early 70's!!! Shame on all of you.

  • @carolyn4121 Keep in mind, With the birth if disco, Talented singers & Musicians were ushered in the background, while really non-talents were propped up as a Talent. We have been going down hill ever since. With voice modulators & Autotune, Moms Mabley & Redd Foxx could be hailed as great singers.

  • She's got the pipes.

  • Where did the 20 people who disliked this come from??? What a great singer. RIP Timi.

  • No woman ever sang better than she did. These singers now days should study this song.

  • Incredibly expressive. Is there anyone on the contemporary scene who could match this?

  • what a set of pipes!

  • The lady sang from her heart and like her voice, it was big.

  • miss you mom, so much...

  • those were the days!

  • So many have recorded this song, but this is the version that rips your heart out

  • @dylandollyspud - So right. Her voice was awesome but her emotion behind it was permeating. Still gives me chills after all these years.

  • Timi Yuro messed up my whole life. I have never been able to love another since I discovered her.

  • What a powerful voice this woman has!!

    Beautiful!!!

  • Listen "Fausto Leali - A Chi" and then we'll talk about...

  • @Giamerico NO WAY!!!

  • I hope everyone had the chance to see my dear friend Howard "Little Lil" Benway preform to this song on stage in Las Vegas as part of the long running show "Boylesque"

  • I am 28 and I have been listening to her sense I was 5 and my mom loves her and plays it all the time I havent ever met one person who has heard of her so i am so happy people do up here yeah!!

  • Love this lady.....................

  • Of the 9 versions of this song I've heard, this original is the BEST, but Juice Newton's, a number 1 on the Country chart in February 1986, comes a close second (other versions are by Connie Francis, Roy Hamilton, Little Anthony & The Imperials, the Manhattans, Elvis Presley, Carly Simon and Bobby Vinton, all available on YouTube)

  • Born Rosemary Timothy Yuro, Timi Yuro (1940-2004) proofs that good art doesn't gets older. I live in Brazil.

  • I truly love her, I hear her every morning when my father plays it in the formal room in December. It's just very nice to hear such a captivating voice when your eyes open--and I wish was I had been born in her era, I probably would have been her biggest fan. :)

  • another great singing voice.timmy yuro sings with true feeling; wonder if she may have had times that "hurt" lovely best wishes you you all..

  • This version is the best female version and Elvis's version for the male version. What a voice.

  • By far the best rendition of this song.

  • What a nice voice...

  • wow amazing voice, Teena Marie was among many

  • Just a wonderful singer with a huge voice. A female version of Tom Jones.

  • @skipper8257 Tom Jones pleaseeeeeee ????

  • Fantastic voice. Amazing tiny woman.

  • ik droom daar helemaal bij weg

  • Oh such wonderful memories

  • One of the all time "wow" songs! That voice gets your attention....and holds it.

  • She has the same birthday as me!! Although I was born 54 years after her haha. Also Elvis covered this beautifully.

  • great song and singer!

    kayobee

  • when i hear this song i threw up in my mouth a little

  • Sorry to nit-pick, but this version has an oh so small skip at 1:07. This is a great song by a great singer whose songs never had any imperfections.

  • @TheKayobee

Wow, I think your right. Where can I find your version of this song? I would like to listen to it.

  • Why does 2lovs4music "tear up"? Because Timi sings with raw emotion. When any singer does that, from Callas (Maria) to Cline (Patsy), it takes your breath away.

  • Why do I tear-up when I hear this======

  • My mother named me after this woman. My name is (maiden name) Timi Charles now Timi Headley. I get so tired of hearing: Did your mother want a boy? No, neither one of my parents wanted a boy! My mother simply loved this song so they named me after her!

  • @yexey obviously you dont now a good song when you hear one!!!!! beiber is crap compaired to this lady

  • Check out live version by Michelle Nova, very good

  • wat is this sh1t?!?!?! JUSTIN BEIBER rulez 4 eva <3

  • @yexey do you ever know how to sing or interpret a song, if you don't like it why bother listening!!!

  • @yexey

You are the expert. Now, may I have a number 3 with fries, and don't forget to supersize it.

  • How can people choose the DISLIKE button? This is a classic song! She had such a powerful voice for such a petite lady!!

  • its so beautiful miss you dadxxx

  • Awesome classic !

  • WHEN i FIRST HEARD THIS SO MANY YEARS AGO, I did not know if this singer was man or woman.Wayne Newton confused me so.

  • @MrDognapper I too never knew at first if it was a female... and the name timi didnt help, but she is amazing

  • Thank you so much for posting this song! Timi Yuro has an unforgettable voice and presence. I remember this and Make The World Go Away from when I was a kid, and it still sounds amazing. Thank you for the memories.

  • So much emotion, raw soul! OH Timi......I still tear up hearing her sing this!!

  • This is real talent.

  • This is the worst Johnny Cash cover I have ever heard.

  • Geoffrey this is a vocal sex attack. Diffydunco

  • I'm 17, and I really enjoy this. I want more music similar to this.

  • Hi Super super super,pozdrawiam MrElvis2:):)

  • This was on the sound-track to 'Casino'.: :) .; Fuckin' great!

  • Truly one incredible voice, like nothing I ever heard..couple that with her ability to put emotions that 'smack every listener to your very soul' Timi was a musical gift to all of us!

Where has all this talent gone..today NOTHING is like this! Patsy Cline had it and a few others... but today it seem like 'no talents after a quick buck' were all the losers.. Thanks Timi, where ever you are for bring this joy for all generations.. Dean

  • So beautiful, nothing more to say!!

  • @desert3347 let's hear " A chi" by Fausto Leali

  • stirs up emotions. very strong.

  • very strong. i can feel it when she sings this song. very cool.

  • Timi's greatest songs were"Hurt" & "What's the Matter Baby". No singer who ever existed could compare to her voice and the emotions she put into a song.

  • this song was made for timi to sing. wow !!!!!!

  • I love this song with all my heart...

  • d820m, you are my soul mate. Timi's "Hurt" and Jackie Wilson's "Danny Boy" have been 2 of my all time favorites for over 40 years. Some 20+ years ago I had to add Roy Orbison's "Danny Boy" to my list.

  • Who are these 19 dead beats with no taste

..gee maybe they hit the wrong button

  • Who are these 19 dead beats with no taste

  • mom, miss you

  • In Spring 1968, I attended "The Groovy Show," a Los Angeles TV show for teens, hosted by Sam Riddle, a local DJ. The Two guest performers were Timi Yuro and Iron Butterfly (eclectic show). In the middle of the show they had a trivia contest between two teams, I was on one team, with Timi as my partner, against another teen and Doug Ingle. We had a ball! Timi was fun, kind (overlooked my pimply goofiness), and smart. We won the game and I went home with a wad of cash. I will never forget her!

  • super.geweldig.

  • still the best. thanks again, jg

  • I just found out she's in heaven....May God be with you!

  • If there is a better song, sung with more emotion than this. I have yet to hear it.

  • it is superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ............

  • Grazie! Splendida,penetrante voce!

  • I was eleven when this came out. It still gives me goose bumps just like it did back then. I wore out the album this was on! She could Belt it out of here!

  • An absolute Living Doll with a voice that grabbed my soul & said, "baby, right now, you're mine, and I would never, never HURT you." One of the great voices of all time.

  • A beautiful song. Thank you so much for the upload.

  • she sings this soooo well I'm sure she must have felt lifes love pains to sing this with soooo much feeling ....but she has a great voice xxxxxxxx

  • What an "Incredible VOICE!!!!!" she is a Female Tenor? I always thought this was a guy singing falsetto? thanks for up loading.

  • Ahh, early 60s, a high school Junior at Central Tech, madly in love with Carolyn S. This was our song. I'm grey today and my life has moved on without her, but the opening belt of this song can still buckle my knees a little and almost put a tear in my eye. I cannot help but smell Carolyn's perfume each time I hear it. Thank you sincerely for touching a very personal chord in my heart. You young kids: LOVE NEVER DIES. Treat your lover with respect and honor. You'll never outgrow losing her.

  • rip ma
