Alright I just installed this on my laptop and I seen some mistakes you made. First guides crap just use mbr so in customization click the mbr and it will boot ok. I had the same issue so it should work also the voodoo kernal does work
Gotta have your hard drive on the #1 SATA port. not 2 or 3, but 1. And if you have IDE drive there can only be the hard drive connected to it no CD. Get SATA dvd reader or sata hard drive.
Do not partition your disk in OSX's partitioner, partition it in Gparted - Linux partitioner, and then when installing just erase - quick the partitioned ext3 partition to HFS+ (journaled). I had the same problem when I partitioned my HDD in OSX's partitioner. So download Linux - Ubuntu LiveCD and do it. And a note, CD should stay inside the tray for the first boot.
happened to my computer! it said no harddrive! with that light! i all you do is unplug EVERYTHING on your hard drive blow it off plug everything in again and it should work (WORKED FOR ME)!
damn REPLYING bug I HaTE IT !!! youtube should fix it finally is that so HARD ???!!!!! i can do it in 10 minutes with any scripting language and any database, YOUTUBE DEV DICKS !
i tried installing iDeneb and kalyway but they both never got past the grey apple boot screen with the spinning cursor. But my congratulations to anyone who can do it cos vista is realy annoying me at the moment!
when u get to the "F8" command prompt at darwin boot, press F8 indeed and type -v so you will be displayed what`s going on on boot time [v means verbose mode] maybe the errors show up and you can fix them ...
its an easy fix all you have to do is go into your bios and change it to hard disk boot priority and cd as your second boot disk after installation and restart!
I have an ECS 671T-M3 board. The bootloader loads the kernel extensions, but it isn't able to proceed to the Apple logo screen... Any tips? I already asked the guys at Insanelymac but they aren't giving me a response...
Thanks for the comment! I don't even have this motherboard anymore, I just keep the video up so that other people with the same problem can find solutions.
You what your problem is? You can't read. Look below you at my comment about how I confirmed that I got this to work a LONG time a go. I am typing this from my laptop which has leopard and XP dual booting.
It was from the people here who actually posted constructive advice that I learned tons about OS X and how to install it on about any intel hardware.
So heres an idea- fuck yourself and the arrogant horse you rode in on.
Aww, Evan doesn't like it when someone tells him that he doesn't know something. Maybe you should turn on approval for comments so that no one can offend you. BTW, glad you learned something and for your information I did read below, the point was that even though you finally got it working you posted a video here that showed you didn't know what you were doing at the time.
It wasn't me, I was just the one that pointed out your calling someone out on something you couldn't even read right. That's two strikes on you now. Care to try for the third? Sheesh. BTW, if you're going to call someone out on their supposed spelling issue then maybe you should know how to compose a sentence properly.
Select MBR not GUID. You selected every single Nvidia driver, select only one ( 128mb one probably ) I used 10.5.2, not 10.5.1. I haven't found a computer I can't get to work with enough tweaking. Typing this on an SSE2 AMD/ATI hackintosh. After 2 days ( no sleep lol ) I got 4 computers dual booting. Try flashing to latest BIOS. Other people on OSX86 have got this working with your board.
the most recommended motherboard for osx is the ASUS P5W DH Deluxe. i have the p5n32-e going to see how it goes once i get kalyway. what hard ware are you trying to install it on?
timboak is right "ive had the same problem...if you boot from the cd press F8 then type "rd=disk0s2" it will boot right up..." takes some time to boot but works
Asus P5B-E,Intel Q6600 Quad Core, 4GBRAM, EVGA7300GT
I had this same problem. Take all of the spaces out of the partition name an then completley zero the disk and guarantee it will run perfectly. I had the same problem and I did that and it armed perfectly.
after the instalation is done do not remove the disk it should say "press any key to install OSX" and it should count down from 10 dont tocuch anything and it should just start bootinh up i have to do the same thing for my 10.5 to boot up or i get a operating system error
I think it is like M4NITOU says. Do not use any spaces for your HD-name. I did it first, and I came up with the same problem as you got in this video. Use OSX, and not OS X as you did. Also check-off the KERNEL-drivers at the top at 05:03, and also check-off all the sound drivers so you're sure to get your sound working properly. Good luck ;)
Please buy a Thermaltake Big Typhoon CPU cooler if you cherish your hearing... That stock cooler of yours makes more noise than a Xbox 360, and that's a lot:)
ive had the same problem...if you boot from the cd press F8 then type "rd=disk0s2" it will boot right up...i have a theory that when you are formatting your hard drive for some reason not everyones computer formats with the drive name "rd=disk0s1" i think if you manual name your volume that, it should boot up right after install..just my suggestions, hope it helps

I suggest that you do not put a space in the name of the partition.

If at first you don't succeed, try try again.

The problem is you know way too little of what you are doing. The BIOS choices show that.

I have read somewhere that kalyway installations usually fail if the partition name has a space in it. Try "OSX" instead of "OS X"

McKack 4 years ago
The reason i think you have the problem is that you cannot have spaces in your partition name with the Kalyway repack.
Try "OSX" instead of "OS X"
M4NITOU 4 years ago
If you check your logs, the of the partition makes a big difference... Try "Leopard"
That should do it...!
Cheers
