  • Toronto still has streetcars even though it's 2011 as I write.

  • wonderful video - wish I could have been there!

  • Don't tell me you have no trams there....?

  • Some really wonderful historical footage of Vancouver here. Thanks for sharing Michael.

  • Those actually aren't streetcars... they're inter-urban trams.

  • Thank you for sharing! This is a wonderful reflection of the roots of where the new Olympic Line came from!!

  • Just wondering what bridge that was near the end, with the single lanes on each side... ?

  • Thats the old Cambie bridge.

  • thx. when was that bridge taken down or rebuilt, you know?

    thx again.

  • As a kid in 1984, we walked across the old Cambie Bridge to see the pope at BC place. Shortly after that it was replaced in time for the 86 world fair. I remember driving across this bridge numerous times with my parents and passing beneath that truss structure in the middle, which the trolleys used due to the overhead support for the wires. There were also single lanes to the left and right of the truss structure. If you look at the end of the bridge, you can see City Hall on the left.

  • You can thank General Motors for this, i think they should give back what they stole from the good public

  • We all need to see more of these excellent videos.Especially as Vancouver considers trams as the perfect non polluter.
