the radio commercials on their radio were really annoying. they think they can say anything and people will follow like its a bible or something very very authoritive. to me its brainwashing and limiting people into narrow minded views
@mistertube7 the radio is a powerful media tool, as you probably know. And yes, they might have sounded annoying, but it was being put to good use. Do you know that Uganda has one of the lowest HIV rates in the region? How do you think they managed to do that? -> effective use of media, with NGOs reaching out to people by persuading them to change their habits...
Would be good if you kept that camera little more inside or locked the window. Could have been snatched... (It's my country, so that's y i've said that)
:o really? honestly, i thought Uganda was amazingly safe! i didn't have one unpleasant encounter with anyone - everyone was really very, very friendly :)
:) i went there to investigate the impact of HIV/AIDS has had in the country, and also went there to collaborate with a NGO called PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) ^^
@fireonimu i would disagree with yoru video description. you're with a group of people parading around in a car. nobody will notice you during this time. To get a feel of the real kampala i think a person should be seperate from other whites, walking the streets and interacting with the locals. That experience is completely different to what this video is like to watch
@mistertube7 parading is a very nice word. Are you trying to piss me off? ^^
Of course we were in a car, we couldn't do our volunteer work walking around Uganda! And our presence there wasn't so people could notice us, we weren't attention-seeking people trying to be famous or trying to get everyone's attention.
We were a group of 16yr old students with two teachers, yeah, we really were going to walk alone. Because it's not as if the teachers had any responsibilities, right? ...

I stayed at Modest Inn, on Mawanda Road, i think. It's a really nice place. The owner was very funny. He's got jokes.
