1. Safety - all surgery carries risks, your mum's risks need to be assessed by her specialist
2. Hospital stay- usually around 3 days in Australia all going well
3. Pain-yes some discomfort, normally on light pain killers at discharge, again varies according to specialist technique
4. Post op-usually walking day 2, light activity for 6 wks according to specialist pref. See the prolapse surgery library at my site for much more free info
@livs2laff1972 Hi. My mum is in her mid-50s and will have surgery soon to repair prolapsed uterus. As a person who has actually experienced the condition and gone through the process of surgery could I ask you a few Qs - hope you'd be willing to answer but I'd understand if you weren't:
1) Is it a safe procedure?
2) How long did you stay in hospital after the surgery?
3) Are you experiencing pain in the area where surgery occured?
4) To what degree are/were you incapacitated after surgery?
Hi yes my pleasure!
