  • Damn! I was flying a dragon, fighting the witches in Medieval age for five minutes. Doesn't feel good to be pulled back to reality.

  • People who whine "wah this is fake, doesnt sound real" Stop being such dorks, i can bet you that you wouldnt doubt a second that it was real if you heard this in the new Batman movie.

  • Nice enough, but yet another piece which hides, rather than reveals, exactly the sonic capability of VST or other sampled orchestral instruments, and that's why they are used for films, because you never hear a long enough phrase or theme to judge. Why does no-one ever post a simple 4 part Mozart piece, or more transparent contemporary piece, so we can hear each section with clarity? The answer is that unless you trigger every note with manually manipulated excrutiating detail, the flaws show.

  • Just a bit off information for the audience off this plugin. This plugin is tailored for professionals. But... the poeple who made this software, also score HUGE hollywood movies. They particularly make soundtracks for trailers, and they are very good at it. The company/band is called "Two steps from hell". Its the same poeple that make music for the movies we watch. That why it sounds so good.

  • the 1 people who dislike this video is Mozart.

  • I cry myself to sleep knowing I will never own this VST.

  • @GingersnapsBrony u will one day;) but u have to start with edirol orchestral first:P

  • the intro sounds like the E.T soundtrack loool

  • One dislike... someone must have had some bad coordination when trying to click the like button.

  • So amazing!!!! ^_^

  • Epic!

  • UNBELEIVEABLE!! OMG

  • I have this library and still can't make music like this I guess you need to know what your doin huh lol....who ever did it is Amazing!! 5 stars*****

  • HOLY FUCK!!!! this is really the best orchestral MIDI editing I've ever heard.. but I am really worried about the REAL MUSICIANS that play these instruments and this is their job :-(

  • @Tharladyn7 don't be.This is crap for them and for the real classical audience.Cheers, mate!

  • @Tharladyn7 I agree the sound is impressive, but when it comes to the real thing, real orchestras will always be recorded, it just sounds better and always will haha.

  • Are you kidding me... this sounds so real!!

  • ya tienes el east west!!!bueno haora si etamos a otro nivel

  • pense que era el sonido de spiderman xD

  • @dulsesaborchocolate Yeah, I heard that Danny Elfman uses Storm Drum 2, which is another software developed by the same company, so I guess that Elfman might use this program too.

  • arghhhhhhhhhhhhh ... excellent... i loooooooove it

  • Excellent tool and a brilliant demo but it's so damn expensive, seriously, I could write a score on manuscript paper for £20 and hire a full orchestra for a day for less than it would cost for this gear

  • @MegaMatnik I'd rather pay $1000 for this piece of software than for image editing software. And many people buy Photoshop & co.

  • Thomas - there are some heart hitting theme's - fantastic !!

  • what other patches were used as addons ?

  • i crapped my pants hearing the choir at 2:00

  • Sick piece!!

4:39 sounds like Spider Man is coming

  • Why couldn't I have composed this piece :(

  • Thankyou so much for this....Totally inspirational, incredibly musical - and one of the best demos I've ever heard!! you have a real gift!

  • If you buy this program is it just the strings that come with it or do brass etc (all the other instruments used in this demo) come with it too?

  • @BertieWatsonMusic You have to buy the other sounds separately, this is just a string library.

  • You almost need a Super Computer for to use this Program to its utmost; beware, check out the Optimum requirements before you lay out your money on this software. Its awesome but its HUNGRY. CPU and RAM. Needs 64 Bit DAW too.

  • okay i have to buy this now. Great video!

  • its so beautifull...!!

  • This is the most incredible computer program I have ever seen... ever.... in my life...

  • how did you achieve those trumpet sounds?

  • I thought why is it so epic? Then i looked at the description and it said "Composed by Thomas Bergersen." :3

  • Man this is GREAT MUSUC...!!! Now I want this program

  • Beautiful...where can I download this?

  • The 0 people who disliked this video know good music.

  • @iam0jordan0JE0edmund you don't like it?

I think it's awesome. Hard to tell the difference between this and a real orchestra...

  • @davidthmovies I love it.....in fact Thomas Bergersen is my greatest inspiration for film scoring.

  • @iam0jordan0JE0edmund Oh oh. We got one coach!

  • Is everything we are hearing in this demo from the Hollywood Strings Diamond Ed.?

  • @860anthony Yes it is. I have Hollywood strings and I must say whewwwwwwwwww!

  • This is prob one of the most craziest plugin ever mad!! You need like one of does computers they use at the white house to play this baby :P

  • jesus h christ

  • I've played this over about 8 time now. Love it!

  • holy, I want those french horns... any idea if theyre live recorded or another VST?

  • @Sepharite Either live or EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Platinum, I can't tell the difference in this recording, but since they appear to be using Symphonic Choirs, I'd assume it's Symphonic Orchestra Platinum

  • This plugin is effing SICK!

  • @BlackIce415 It's also probably worth more than your car lmao

  • This is the first time I really dig to a DEMO music................ this music has hooked in my head!!!

  • Ich brauch das! *.*

  • I need this!!

  • Comment removed

  • can't get this song out of my head for months. it's fantastic.

  • OHH MY GOD!!! there is no way software did this... no way. this has got to be an actual orchestra

  • goooooooooooooooooooooooood!!

  • @Railgunmani Search Symphobia and prepare to crap your pants. I have EWQLSO and I regret I bought it

  • @Lgw1984 Thank you for a valuable opinion. I should not judge it in the putt externals. 3ks

  • Holy - Fucking - Shit... *clicks Like button machine gun-like*

  • @3lackrose Symphobia kicks EWQLHS' ass

  • how come I hear a big choir, trumpets and clarinets in a string library demo?

no doubt it`s a good piece of music,

but not quite what you`re about to get if you invest in this thing.... :-)

  • @felixneun I think it's a demonstration on how the Hollywood Strings samples can be integrated with other libraries and still sound aesthetically pleasing.

  • Could someone please give me a quick break down of what instruments are making what sound

  • So good!

  • why are composers so fucking bitchy aha. if you bitch then you probably suck, dont get jealous.

  • does Hollywood strings also have the choir i hear? or is that a different program, if so can you tell me what it is? thanks in advance.

  • @whatsittoyaaa Hollywood Strings is just strings, the choir is the composer's private sound collection (as well as the brass, woodwinds and percussion)

  • Brilliant progression and transitions ! Simply awesome ! I have the silver edition but this absolutely blows it out of the water ! My only concern is that it might put traditional musicians out of business ! It's that good !!!

  • This is as good as it gets when it comes to virtual strings. After that, it's all about proper engineering and proper writing. IE: Proper bow length, bow direction, rosin, vibrato, properly tying your notes together, along with setting your attack, sustain, retain and decay times properly, so as not to violate what a violin can and cannot actually do. That is... if you are shooting for realism as well as fidelity.

  • This sounds absolutely amazing!

  • wow all the sounds you hear are worth your life savings!!! how cool! for most of us this is a bargin at only $10 000 !!

  • @bally28 Its actually not bad at $1499 since it is the best strings you can get .

  • Another song called Soaring over Los Angeles is like mindblowing imo

  • all East West vsti's sounds the same only plugins diffrent take East West orcestra gold edition same strings as hollywood haha fuk u East West only the name is good

  • wow. That was awesome

  • I didn't see it anywhere, so:

    This is amazing.

  • That's sick for a VSTi.

  • This sounds epic! Great job!

Does anyone know what the use is of buying the Symphonic Orchestra now? I mean, drums are from SD2, now strings are from Hollywood Strings, choirs are from Symphonic Choirs... so.. what's the use of the orchestra??

  • @Tanax13

The use of buying SO over Hollywood strings would be the 10th of the price ;)

  • wow, seriously fucking WOW! I want this!

  • i soo need to get my hands on this!

  • Where did the rest of instruments came from??? Isn't this program just about strings??? Thats a full orchestra with chorus and all. What program was used for the rest of the orchestra?? I know chorus was recorded live cause they are saying words.

  • @miguelriveraibanez This is East West Software. Everything you are hearing is keyboard/ software from East West....Including the Choir. The other programs for the other instruments/ vocals not included in this particular program can be found here. eastwestsamples . com / index . php

  • @miguelriveraibanez the choir by the way is East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Choirs.......look it up ^_^ You'll be surprised at what East West software can do.

  • @musicmaker11 Whoa, u're right!!!! dude I need like the whole package, so I better start saving some good money =S It's shipped from Australia, right??

  • @miguelriveraibanez I haven't looked to see where its shipped from, but yeah, the complete composers collection will sett you back about a grand or so....it does cost a pretty penny.......I have East West RA, but i want the big packages soooooo bad!! just a few more years and I'll be able to afford it haha...i hope

  • @musicmaker11

    -

"the choir by the way is East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Choirs.......look it up ^_^"

    -

    No it isnt.

  • @miguelriveraibanez

    -

"I know chorus was recorded live cause they are saying words."

    -

There are various libraries out now that can have choir sing "words", but this is a custom library by Thomas Bergersen. Same with the brass and winds. Watch out for East West however since they are working on brass, winds and choir which they will be selling just like Hollywood Strings.

  • this is so amazing, definitely worth investing!

  • why do i feel like the high frequencies are gone as if compressed in 128 kb/s if it's the youtube quality why didn't u upload a better audio quality version?

  • Anyone knows if this is Eastwest's Symphonic Choirs you hear on the background? you'd say it is but for the Desiderata demo Colin o'Malley used Tonehammers Requiem, and my god that sounds good

  • @Idsz yeah iwanted to know about that. and for epic choirs is ewsc better or is their one even better than that

  • @jab106 check out cinesamples voxos and tonehammer requiem - 2 new choir libraries

  • @jab106 ok thanks im looking on getting requim lite since it is the cheapest of all

  • @Edbrad you took alot of effort to disprove every comment that says the other instruments are EW. How do you know it isn't?

  • @Idsz

    -

Because he has said it several times. Its well known TJ uses private samples and has done for a while. Apparently the percussion in this IS East West Orchestra... personally I'm doubtfull but thats what he said. Right now he still uses his private library... or maybe recently started switched over to some more EW stuff because they are making brass and winds right now. Point is, the brass, woodwinds and choir is definitely not EW.

  • Im wondering about the legato sound if someone has it can tell a little about this feature .. important to me.

    thanks

  • what exactly is the difference between this and EQSO

  • @iamacomposer Could possibly be the conversion from American to Australian dollars, though I'm unsure.

  • Comment removed

  • @daeuscannon for now. but brass is coming very soon and so on...

can you record a violin part for my disco record? it needs run articulation and i don't have it. what programs are you using.

  • @cortezforever What kinda parts you need? I have Goliath and SD2. Thinking about investing the money in HS or could I get the same thing in Complete Orchesral Gold

  • world class composer on this

  • in the beginning there are harp glissandi or arpeggios it this a patch or do you have to play every single note?

  • @PeterKneter1 programming every note doesn't sound like that, it's a complete gliss sample.

  • @iamacomposer definitely another awesome mockup

  • @iamacomposer pleas sent other demo sound thanks ;-)

  • is all of this made using a midi keyboard?

  • Was this written purely as a demo for Hollywood Strings? It's fantastic, I literally can't stop listening

  • and this, gentlemen, is called perfection...

haha the prize really kills common folk like me, but the prize of those sounds is absolutely justified!

  • I wish the ability to make awesome stuff like this, came with the library...

  • This is so fantastic. Obviously, so much comes from knowing how to use the software. I'm confident someone with skill could create something similar to this using EW Symphonic Orchestra. Brilliant composition.

  • If only I hadn't bought ANOTHER Complete Composer's Collection... I won't afford this is a long, long time.

  • @iamacomposer What are the major differences between LASS and Hollywood Strings? I'm stuck deciding between the two and I'm curious as to what each of them offers in regards to workflow ability and quality.

  • So, should I buy Hollywood Strings or LA Scoring Strings?

  • Does the hollywood strings collection include any other instruments than the strings? If not, does anyone know what collections is used for the rest of the orchestra and the choir in this sound example?

  • The 4 best quality products:

-EDIROL ORCHESTRAL [light orchestral software(computerized, and sometimes studio-recorded)]

-LA SCORING STRINGS [heavy orchestral software(all studio-recorded)

-PROJECTSAM SYMPHOBIA [heavy orchestral software(studio-recorded, and sometimes computerized)]

-EastWest HOLLYWOOD STRINGS [heavier orchestral software than LA or SYMPHOBIA (ALL studio recorded)

THEY ARE THE BEST QUALITY PRODUCTS THAT BUYERS CAN BUY!

  • maybe this is used on WALL'E music score

  • this is better than symphobia

  • @iamacomposer IMO VSL still beats this in sound quality. I don't know what LASS is though?

  • @iamacomposer I agree with all your statements, except possibly the one about LASS (debatable, IMO). And I actually "ripped" this song from the demo video that was posted awhile back, so apologies for the bad quality. But yes, the website now has many demos of higher quality, so you should all definitely check it out!

  • it DOES sound good, but to get it this good you have to be an awesome programmer with a nice effect rack.

Also, I am way more interested in realistic Solo Strings, but thats way more difficult. Even the LASS solo strings arent convincing.

  • @RemovdSande11 check out east west gypsy, that solo string in the demo is quite nice :)

  • @RemovdSande11 , so what you're saying is that you really don't want ot have to put forth much effort to get the most realistic results? LASS has the best solo strings I've heard yet. Yes, it still takes a LITTLE bit of programming chops, but compared to what we had available to us just a few short years ago, I'm WAY impressed!

  • @siloo1

that is ofcourse very true ... and I am most convinced that within a decade.. ,maybe even sooner, there will be software that sound like a "real" orchestra, and I mean real real ^^

  • I am buying this software when it comes out...

  • cant wait till it comes out already!!

  • @SuperPawuk The strings still have that fake Eastwest sound! Cinematic strings has the best hollywood sound. Several film composers claim that one can still get closer to the real thing with LASS, I agree but I' m not a fan of the sound. No great composer is raving about hollywood strings. No I don' t live on a mcchicken salary. With a few more updates cinematic strings will shit on it all!

  • @MrJambone1 I can't argue with you about the awesome quality of CS. Check out their new demo "Passacaglia" if you have the chance. But the reason no one is "raving about hollywood strings" is because it hasn't come out yet...so there's nothing really nothing to 'rave" about, or criticize for that matter. Only when it is actually released will composers get a good sense of what it is capable of.

  • @MrJambone1 dude, did your pet die on you or are you on prozac? When something new comes out it doesn't mean you should be pissing on it just because you have to, since you bought the other libraries. All strings out there can help you in different ways, and combining them gives you loads of options. Cinematic strings are ok in combination with others but sure as hell not the best. Be pleased all these companies are trying to give us the tools. I'll buy them all, fuck it.

  • @datisookzo Prozac is not strong enough for me son, my system handles it like it' s vitamin c! I just might get hollywood strings too, just to have several options like you said, so I guess it is a plus that they do not all sound the same. The city counsil won' t allow me to have pets because I always made them shit in my neighbours' yards.

  • @MrJambone1 Really not! I've downloaded Cinematic Strings for about a week ago and I was surprised of the bad audio quality! The "true legato" sucks. EW Hollywood Strings is way way better!

  • @YourVisualDesigner ...Wow I completely forgot about these posts... you replied to some old shit. There is nothing wrong with the audio quality of CS you can clearly here it in the demos don' t act like such a HS fanboy pissing on everything else. In the end however I went with Hollywod Strings because it is the most complete one with more articulations than all the others. It enables me to get more realism and make compositions sound like they were performed by a real orchestra!

  • @MrJambone1 I'm not pissing CS but I just don't think the audio quality is that good.

  • @SuperPawuk

Because of your ranting I just listened to CS and it doesn't do the trick for me. Like iamacomposer says: it beats lass and definitly vsl in my opinion, or maybe "shit on it all"

  • As a casual listener, this DEFINITELY sounds real :) I wouldn't doubt that it was real for a second if I didn't know it wasn't.

  • Pretty sure the trumpets are WIVI.

  • i'd still recommend vienna symphonic library

  • I would *almost* kill to get this...hmm, well, I'll start saving up anyway :D

  • I needz this!!!

  • 540gb de mis sueños

  • I gotta step up and defend Narcoman; nothing can ever truly replace human beings in a room playing together IMO. Although this demo is stunning it ISN'T totally realistic, it definitely has a sound.

OTOH, with the industry being is the state it's in money constraints will win out, the average listener wouldn't really be able to tell (or care) that this demo isn't real. People scorn Cowell but get older I realise I don't want to die poor for the sake of artistic integrity. So live and let live!

  • theres just one problem with what you said.. you said it's not realistic. but on the contrary it is real recordings.

the art is in how the notes go together, and east west is the closest at getting the most realistic blending of live recordings to where a performace can be reconstructed.

and they're only gonna get better and better

  • Bullshit... even cinematic strings sound better. Check the demo someone posted on youtube. LASS is still the way to go. This needs its own system that is the biggest dealbreaker. In addition the muted strings are not real recordings but modeled mutes.

  • When it comes down to it, you're getting a very believable full orchestral performance (as long as you work it right), pre-mastered, for little over 300/400 bucks. I'm about to buy a cello, and that shit is almost 500 bucks for a DECENT one, not even a good one. They're trying, and I commend their attempt, but of course a real orchestra is going to sound better.

    What's LASS btw?

  • @unku LASS is short for L.A. scoring strings. Hollywood strings is actually well over a thousand bucks! LASS slightly less than a thousand. Listen to the demos on their site and you' ll know what the hype is all about. Take care!

  • @MrJambone1 hollywood strings rule, lass dont even compare its shit beyond all belief like VSL

  • @SuperPawuk Nope.. they dont rule but keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better!

  • @MrJambone1 La shit strings has 1st violins with divisi........but the lame ass developers decided to use same sounds for 2nd violins with a little tech to stop phasing. That sucks! no realism at all! HW strings are separate individual recordings for all divisi of 1st and 2nd violins giving much more realism as each divisi sounds slightly different! n who cares about the stupid ART tool most pro's will want their repetitions to be more unique than straight 8ths 16ths etc etc..

  • @SuperPawuk Why all the animosity? Are you an unhappy LASS costumer? In any case, you seemed to be quite misinformed. For Hollywood strings, each string section was recorded using different mic positions that emphasized one part of the section over another, and thus it is not "true" divisi (this is arguable). On the other hand, LASS has "true divisi". It is essentially five libraries built into one: "a First Chair library, 1/4 Divisi A, 1/4 Divisi B, 1/2 Divisi C and a Full Section library".

  • @SuperPawuk Furthermore, " all LASS patches and programming are consistent from the first chair to the full mix. If apart sounds right using the first chair patch, the same sequence will sound right with the full ensemble — no MIDI reprogramming required."

  • @sidesauce With all this programs I always say the same... If you can record a real orchestra do it, but this program will do the job.

Recording a real orchestra would cost 1,000,000 times more, but the sound improvement won't be 1,000,000 times more.

    It's a simple equation:

    PERFORMANCE = QUALITY / COST

Of course, if you can afford recording an orchestra do it the old way.

  • narcoman2 you really need to get out of your self opinionated arse, when you produce some music of real worth and substance then your words might carry some weight!

  • thanks!! I'll just give that Bafta and two Emmys back then....hehe

  • @MarkLiddell um..... okaaayyyyyy

  • THE GREATEST

  • Examples such as Legato, Staccato, etc. are very good.
