  • rub a bit of soldering flux on the pins with an old shirt, use old iron and heat the pins, then wipe the pins again. my method, burns the grease up a bit to make it easier to clean. sanding/magic eraser is a hiiiiiggghh grit sandpaper pretty much/steel wool make the pins weaker and scratched (easier to oxidize again as moisture has more places to rest)

  • Nice job man! wow.. you are dedicated! Craps.. Never put that cart in again! =P

  • @PhatPhunk

yeah that damn cart totally trashed my pin

connector! now im hesitant to put unlicensed

    cart in my system..lol

  • @eSkilliam hey thanx dude!

I have one of those same shelves,

    but mine came from walmart.

will def check biglots and see if they got em

    any cheaper...=D

  • What was with the subliminal pigeon about halfway through the video lol?

I usually just use q-tips and windex, but magic eraser is probably good for a real deep clean.

  • @n8great321

LOL!!! I put it in there just to see how many

    people would notice...;p

a lot of my games really did need a good cleaning,

since most have never been cleaned..;p

  • hey buddy I have the same problem with Nes games as you. I stack them the same way you do but its an inconvienece. Let me know what you figure out

  • @tb46667

sadly, I prob just leave them that way

until I get a new media shelve.

man games take up a lot of space!....lol

  • DO NOT USE MAGIC ERASERS ON CONTACTS. Magic eraser when wet is like the highest grit sandpaper. You are will just scrape them down to the point where the is no contact left.

  • @Thepaddster

lol, calm down dude, you act like nes contacts are frail and brittle.

light grit sandpaper or magic erasers will not harm the

contacts. theres no way in hell a magic eraser will grind

    down to the pcb.....=p

  • i done this with about all my games. the hardest for me to do is some sega gen game because they have different kinds of screws it seems. i usually use pink eraser on the contacts then rubbing alcohol. works good enough. i clean the case with soap and water too if there is stuff on it. don't know how safe ti is to use that magic eraser on the contacts like that since it is basically real fine sand paper i heard.

  • @james42519 pink eraser really sucks for

cleaning nes games pins, because it leaves

a gunky residue behind. steel wool, light grit

sandpaper, or magic eraser are great for this

    kind of thing.

  • Nice Corey, never thought of using the magic eraser on the contacts.

I usually use the soft white eraser & rub. alcohol and if it's really bad a bit of Brasso.

How's it going with the NES2 top loader A/V mod?

  • @thomas3120

yeah man, magic erasers great for

cleaning them, but the eraser doesn't seem

    to last very long..lol

to tell ya the truth man, im thinking of

doing a tg16 av mod, seems a little

    more straightforward.

    maybe sometime though...=)

  • hahah what's with the pigeon w/the arrow through its head LOL i still cant figure out how to place the thumbnail just right either.

  • @henryblazer20 Poor pigeon lol

  • @cowboys4life956

    lol!!

  • @henryblazer20

I put it there just to see if anyone

    would notice, pure randomness....lol!!!!

  • If you stack them horizontally instead of vertically, you would not have that problem of having to stack them all again after you remove one from the bottom of the stack... I know you're asking for help on the guys who have them stack like you have... but honestly I think it's a dumb idea to have it like that ;)

It's a good idea, that one about the card board in between the rows... but if only if you had them horizontally stacked, that way if you remove a cart from a row, the one on top stays.

  • @1UPGameOver

but if I stacked them horizontally , I would not be

able to fit all of my nes games on the shelve.

another big prob with going horizontally is that

when you pull a game from the bottom

the top falls in its place.

so both ways pretty much suck...;p

  • @elcheapouno

the top would not fall if you had cardboard between rows ;)

  • Whats up dude! I watched the video, but forgot what I was going to say. ...Maybee just cheers to beer!!!

  • @jillpoo3 =D

  • I can't remember which method worked best with stacking NES games. Something about cassette holders and CD case holders. Something like that. But if you could figure it out I bed it'd kick ass.
