  • Sam accent as Porky Pig; +9:00. He aways tawks wit a wittle double yew. :P

  • Mistake at 11:30 : Farmer Maggot gives shelter to Frodo, Sam, and Pippin (not Merry)

  • Very interesting! I always felt that Hobbiton was rural England. I wondered if Hobbiton alluded to spirit of Britain & its people as in Hob - Briton. Hob means house spirit.

The Curator, Janet Graffius, has a pleasant voice - easy to listen too.

  • I thought the key theme was supposed to be about men, being mortal and elves being immortal. is this wrong>>?

  • i thougt (bad english)

some nerds are playing lord of the rings in real life lolz

  • is Ian Holm the narrator?

  • I love these books and films the white supremacy theroy is just another thing blacks have to ruin black people wearnt known in england in the time period J.R.R Toilken was writeing about

  • @RickieScene Did you seriously say they didnt know about black people in England in the 1930s and 50s?

wow.......literally THE stupidest thing I've seen on the internet.

  • @RickieScene LOL OMG that was one of the dummest thing ive ever read....wow

  • Middle Earth is old English, it's the land between heaven and hell where men walk.

  • As unintended as Tolkien may have been. He was prophetic in his story telling.

He saw and described the All Seeing Eye as Evil. The working of two Wizards one of light one of darkness, the difference between white magic and black is that of wills.

Thy Will Be Done being of Light. My will being done, that of dark.

The Simerillians describes the story of the fallen angels and the magical mysteries of music in realms into that of chaos. Again, as he may say one thing, another was described.

  • The narrator is Ian Holm!

  • why did i watch 28 minutes of it

  • @BaseballkidsTV Why DIDN'T you watch all 58?

  • If one were to study real world history, they would learn that people of all races have performed good and evil thoughts words and deeds. I suggest you or anyone to thuroughly asess one's self and make sure all personal bias is checked before you go judging anothers spirit and character!

  • Wow Barabatico! Thats a very Sweeping generalization! I myself am what people (how be it ignorant) mIght call a negger. Brown Skin broad nose and black corse/currly hair. I have grown up and lived around my race my whole life (25 yrs) and I have also met many Africans while in school and alot of those ppl have been very delightful to be arround. And yes I sense this intuitively.

  • Its clear to me that the colors of the races (In the story) symbolizes those races as either evil creatures or good creatures (not whites and neggers). And actually if you look closely youll find some white orks on film. Art should not be interpreted literally or into a plainly physical sense, it reaches way deeper than that. And this comes from and young African American Male.

  • @barbarotico...Any person who objectively views this work as a true piece of artistic expression would definately notice that the main theme was a battle between good and evil or light and dark (not necessarily literally relating to the color of skin but more so the darkness of ones thoughts words and deeds)

  • @Louda4th But in the real world most neggers have darken and negative thoughts.

    Let ask you a question.

When you are near a negger don't you feel something evil that emanates from him?

Because i'm latin and I notice that...the mean negger emenates a evil though energy ofenvy and hatre. What happen is that in this materialistic world the people don't pay atention to their 6 sense.

  • Hi, very interesting channel! We georeferenced our 3D terrain model: Hobbiton = Sarehole, England. Minas Tirith = Florence, Italy. :-D

  • i wish Sir Ian Holm had narrated this

  • @barbarotico

Actually Tolkien gave this story to represent Germanic culture and its beauty, he was not a racist.

  • @barbarotico you are a nasty person.

  • @madkaye I'm a realistic person wih my eyes wide open to te reality.

  • Nice big bunch of chemtrails at 2:40 approx :P

  • If Middle Earth is Europe then that means the land of perfect and immortal beings across the western ocean is North America - that can't be right surely?

  • @belisariusorb You should not take it so literally. It alludes to an age lost in the mists of time.

  • @evilyig I don't take it literally, I was responding to the previous comments

  • Middle Earth was definitely no other than Europe. There is Norse evidence of it, where on runes it wrote "middengeard" which in our English means "Middle Earth".

  • youtube is possessed.. ... I've refreshed this page a few time AND closed out of my browser as well. and each time i come back to the video it starts off at the same place where i was before closing out..... :S

  • I have a right to free speech you cannot block me curse you

  • Excellent film,I would like to add my own theory to the meaning of the story, you may notice that in many of the frames of the sky ,their are many chemtrails in the sky long straight lines of white trails thought by many to contain aluminium particles and barium for a secret Geo engineering which has been going on covertly, you may notice that the sky is always hazy not clear like they used to be ,It has been noticed that many trees in America and Hawai are dying because of increased pollution.

  • really good !!!

  • I don't know where, but in some interview Tolkien himself says LotR is about "death and deathlessness"

But certainly there is alot of Englishness in the Shire.

  • Why was "Lord of the Rings" never featured on "Wishbone"?

  • @fdfederation because lord of the rings is too epic for wishbone

  • You know you're a good writer when other people start writing books about you.

  • thank you martinthegnome, I'm glad someone besides me noticed that!

  • Great documentary, but I don't like that red haired woman. She annoys me.

  • same.lol

  • yea she is!

  • Tolkien is god!

  • @Juice34tr Incorrect. There is only one true God.

  • @stickyshoesies There is no god..

  • @Juice34tr We are god, everysingle person on the planet.

  • @Juice34tr, Amen to that.

  • @stickyshoesies Incorrect. There is no God.

  • @stickyshoesies And it's made of spaghetti and can fly.....

  • caucus mountains kind of feel like mordor to me in my mind...here come the turks.

    remember their invasion

  • ehehehe

  • This was extremely well done and quite interesting to watch. I really appreciate the professionalism of the production, and enjoyed the tying together the places of Tolkien's life and the imagined landscapes of Middle-earth. Thanks for sharing it here!

  • 58 minutes? O.O

  • @chumlongcho well it's a documentary what did you expect?

  • well, Papa Tolkien flat out stated that he detested allegory in all it's forms. He wrote Lord of the Rings as a pseudo mythology for his beloved home of England.

  • I agree with you but I mean come on, can we say that his expierience in WW1 did not have some effect on how he would write his environments.

  • i don't deny that he was probably influenced by his personal experiences (what artist isn't?) but there was no intentional straight line correlation between Middle Earth and its history and the real world is my point.

  • @martinthegnome "papa tolkien" ?

  • @Jopari444 many fantasy/sci fi authors refer to J.R.R. Tolkien as "Papa Tolkien" because he is considered the father of the modern day epic fantasy novel.

  • @martinthegnome oh didnt know that

  • @martinthegnome Are you really a gnome Ian

  • @martinthegnome Are you really a Gnome ian

  • @martinthegnome Are you really a gnome
