  • I'm a valet, and it all depends on the particular valet. Where I work now, everyones on the up and up. However other companies I worked for in the past would say things like "not my car, so I don't care, etc, etc". Maybe because I tip well and don't do things wrong to other peoples vehicle, but I haven't had issues when I valet my own car. But I would recommend "EVERYONE" take their valuables, and belongings.

  • i NEED THAT chair!!

  • It's really half and half. I worked valet in downtown Austin, where it was WAY TOO BUSY to take a joy ride or do any of this shit.

  • This is a total set up.

  • these guys give valets a bad name.......assholes

  • Retarded. The video is either completely fake, or the manager is never there and the ALL of the valets let that stuff go unreported. I'm a valet and that wouldn't fly, even though I'm not a manager. The valet who parked and retrieved cars are identified if a claim comes up like something stolen. I treat guest cars better than my own. This video is likely complete bullshit.

  • Hey, I don't eat at restaurants either, except where I can clearly see the kitchen. :)

  • A tip should be given for a job well done regardless if you get tipped or not, you should still do your job.

To say that you're going to abuse somones property just because they don't tip is a liability for the company and if I was the manager, I would seriously have a discussion with that person.

Seems like it's more of a problem at places that are slow and valets have too much free time.

  • Now that was a funny post!

  • high end places and casinos..yeah they have a million cameras and close wach because of dollar value but 99.9%of the time this shit goes down...4 of my friends valet at a club they tell me this shit all the time, and that pole smoker that found the "5 spot" first of all 5 spot? fuckin douche what is this 1982? and second a $5 just sittin on the floor? all you guys that say ur good valets on here would know people plant cash and items all the time to see if you will steal them.kid's a dumb ass

  • Yeah this video is a joke. This is taking the valet reputation to the extreme and if this video is at all real, then this company has serious problems. I'm a supervisor for a valet company and have been parking cars for four years, working with hundreds of valets. If any of this kind of shit goes down, everyone knows about it and it is quickly escalated and dealt with.

@elkrissd is right, it's a shame for what this video does to our reputation.

  • I've been a valet and valet manager at six different high end properties for three years with three different companies and I have never witnessed anything close to the abuse this video suggests. Companies run like this simply won't survive in the industry and if they manage to, it won't be at quality properties. This job pays for my college, so I do my best at it and I take care of my customers as do all of my coworkers and former coworkers. So lay off and TIP YOUR VALETS, trust me it helps.

  • This is not true at all. I am a valet myself. It all depends on the company. For instance if one thing is reported stolen out of a car on a shift with my company, everyone on that shift is fired automatically. If something is damaged, they go to the cameras to determine what really caused it. This company must suck and have a terrible screening/monitoring process. If you are to valet your car and feel nervous, do research on the COMPANY that will take your baby.

  • anybody lets some stranger drive their car deserves whatever happens.

  • Sorry, but again, this shit happened, and happens all the time. Sounds like you work at a great place. But I still never valet if I don't have to.

  • this is ridiculous, i've been a valet for nearly four years and this shit doesn't happen. it's a great job and i work my ass off and perform my job professionally. bullshit videos like this give valets a unfair bad reputation.

  • It really is a shame that these things happen. I agree that it does seem like an easy thing to do. Someone else's property and all. If only every valet staff was as closely watched as casino crews maybe we'd all make more money. Not to say that 4k a month is not enough for parking cars. Right?

  • @chomponthissmut I was a valet parker, too, for two years. Yes, it does happen.

I never did anything untoward, however I witnessed and intervened a lot of disrespect and abuse. It was disheartening to see the lack of respect.

  • You gotta be kidding me! I perform my job as a valet for a casino with absolute honesty. It is how I feed my family and videos like this are what scares people into not trusting hard working people. It is a shame and this video should be removed. I've never stolen from a car and never will. It takes employees two months average to complete background checks and drug tests before even being considered for employment at the casino in which I work. Shame on you for your video and what it does...

  • I valeted for 5 years at the same place and this goes on daily. Maybe it's not happening where you work, but trust me, it goes on at many garages.

  • this guy is a joke, i valet at a high end place and we dont do any shit like this
