ok i need a real answer... im looking for another 12 guage for my son for duck hunting. hes shot my 10 guage bolt action so he can handle big guns. should i get the beretta xtrema 2 or the maxus? please reply thank you
@MrFluffytoilet They are basically the same gun but with a different look. Identical on the inside just not the outside. I think the Maxus has a little better feel to it so I personally would choose the Maxus over the SX3
just got this gun and it is amazing. i would recommend it to anyone because it is so light and very low recoil. it shoots very nice and the camo is awsome. Ive shot the extrema 2 and i would take the maxus over it anny day. BROWNING ALL THE WAY!
Currently saving up for a Maxus Stalker 26". Best shotgun I have ever fired. First day at skeet I rented one for the day and put probably 300-400 rounds through it. (Keep in mind this was a 3 1/2 model) like that matters for this gun. I used one ounce loads, not a single fail to feed or fire, felt more like a .22 than a 12 gauge, in weight and recoil. They definitely got a home run with this one. Thank you, John Browning
I like this gun! It's just hard to believe though that anything can shoot better than the sweet-as-hell Browning Gold 3.5" I have now!
On a related note, if anyone wants to try out a sweet shotgun that was way before it's time, try out a Browning 2000. When it comes to hitting the shoulder quickly, accurately, and naturally, the 2000 is probably the best I've ever tried.
@CrystalHunter1989 Oh yeah, Argentina is literally overrun by doves. There's no place like it. I don't even think there's a limit. You can go out and shoot THOUSANDS a day. It's possibly the most demanding environment for any shotgun because you might fire 1k rounds before lunch. Until the Maxus the gold standard for Argentina dove hunting were usually the InertiaDrive Berettas, but their lack of serious recoil damping (due TO their InertiaDrive) meant a trade-off of punishment for reliability.
My uncle just bought one. and he let me take it to the range . I love it and the best part of it i like the sholder rest bust shotty i will ever fire in my life
i love the idea. i just bought a browning silver and while i was at the store i held a maxus. i would have bought that instead but why id there not a traditional wood stock version??
Mrquackwacker8, I really like the Xtrema2 but it is about a pound heavier and $300-$400 more than the Maxus. For waterfowl and upland game I prefer the Maxus in camo. I guess it depends on what you want to do with it.
....By the way, the 2 shotguns I see most for sale in the classifieds hands down are Mossbergs and Benelli's. Buyer's remorse much!? Walk into any Cabela's or Sportsman's Warehouse and they will tell you that the Maxus is outselling the Vinci hands down. It's not even close.
.........not to mention paying the absolute highest rip-off inflated prices on the market for a Benelli that isn't worth half that much. I personally know that Benellis kick like a mule, even the new Vinci. Don't get sucked in and fooled by Benelli's marketing campaign.....
.......as for Benelli, Franchi or Stoeger inertia driven shotguns, they are not even in the same league as gas autoloaders. You would have to be stupid or in denial to prefer an inertia driven shotgun over gas operated when considering design, recoil, reliability, innovation and speed in a semi-auto......
The Maxus is not the same as the SX3. There are at least 7 new design innovations starting with the PowerDrive gas system that Maxus has that the Gold, Silver and SX3 do not. Did you guys not watch the video? Watch it again and pay attention.
Yeah, Ive talked to my local gun dealer, he even opened both up and showed be the difference, basically none, they just gave it a new name because they redisgned the oorts on the piston.
Lool you so serious , benelli fastest , simplest and the most comfortable guns ever , browning are good guns , but this gun wont beat the Benelli vinci , and i know what im saying ;)
i had a sbe2 from benelli and it was a piece fo junk. i had to put the barrel in a vice to get it off to clean it and it jamed when it got too cold or when it got wet and my maxus is way better than this peice of shit
I just picked up a 28 Camo Maxus on Monday and took it out and did a side by side shoot with my 26 SBEII. The Maxus kicks less (not a night and day difference but enough to notice for sure), especially with 3.5in loads. They both feel nicely weighted and balanced, and both shoulder equally well IMO. The Maxus action is easier to load and unload and it has speed load and magazine cutoff. The big question now is to see how durable and low maintenance the Maxus it, the SBEII has been flawless!
Im having a hard time deciding between this shotgun the silver or the winchester sx3....i have had browning and love them to death i have had a gold and an A5....anyone have any suggestions anyone shoot this gun?
man that locking thing sure looks like they copied the benelli vinci! I dont know about you guys but I love my benelli vinci I got it in black 28in to me no recoil my arm was fine after 12 boxes at trap and skeet and im used to a 40 year old remington 870 one of my favorite gun witch kicked a heck of alot more than my vinci plus vincis are awsome case closed. browning just copied benelli and made a peice of junk compared to a vinci a peice of art
the vinci is a waterfowl gun that dont shoot 3 1/2 (stupid) i own a browning gold/silver 1187/and sbe2 the sbe2 kicks the hardest hands down!! the vinci is a joke a big letdown anybody tell u that even if u don't shoot 3 1/2 u should always have that option!!
i love this guns look and performance. but why dont they make it with a wood stock. guns look much better when they have the contrast of wood and steel
this gun looks awsome i hunt with a 28 gauge verona from Italy which is worth about $1600 that i won at a sportsmen banquet but i am deciding between a camophlouge maxus or a browning blr 308, we already about 6 12 gauges but this gun really impresses me
i love browning i own 2golds for deer hunting but im a lefty so for waterfowl hunting i got a super black eagle2 cause they make a lefty.the safety on the left side and your always pushing that. if browning made a lefty.i would own a maxus sbe2 is nice but i also got 11-87 and the sbe2 kicks the hardest they both got there ups and downs
the only browning i will ever shoot is my rifle, and my citori 525 sporting..i will never shoot a semi auto from these cheap bastards people call browning..ya this gun looks nice, but it sounds too clanky everytime they pull the trigger, and looks like ya could get a lot of jams..in the hunting i do for geese wen it is -20 out these gas operated guns jam like a bitch...love for my benelli super black eagle 2!! benelli or beretta all the way!
come one mate mossbergs aint that beautiful,,,,,,,id say like a remington...those are stae of the art shottiieesssss...good in the eye and in the field...............
Wish they would design or make one with the semi drop back like their silver and their older european gold they offered. The plug system looks nice but I don't think you could use a pen/pencil in a pinch as a plug.
FYI A-5's use the recoil for ejection of the shell and they don't kick as much as my gold or silver. Then again the barrells move on the A-5s woudl that be considered an inertia system?
Honestly price and reliability are more important to me then recoil.
Does anybody own one yet? I've heard that the speed lock cap doesn't hold the barrel in as tightly as a screw on cap. Is that true? Nonetheless, I want one.
Inertia Systems kicks harder then any other autoloader! Its based on the recoil of the shell to jack the round!! Not to mention they feel like a toy gun!! I will take my Browning over a inertia gun any day of the week
I have several friends who give me crap all the time about shooting "Jap Junk" and that I need to come over to Team Benelli. I have killed a lot of geese and ducks - never had a jam or gun malfunction in 5 years/thousand rounds. I love my Browning Gold 3 1/2" and will definitely look at this as my next replacement. I own a Benelli Montefeltro 20ga and it is a sweet gun, but I can shoot the Browning all day - was bruised after 100 20ga rounds. Inertia driven guns kick more than gas, period.
I would love to have one of these, but are they really better than my gold? It never jams, its light weight, has a back-bored barrel with invector+ chokes and shoots like the devil. How is this browning different?
I was in Argentina, at a different lodge, but at the same time as these guys. We talked alot on the plane and at the different airports. They were very excited about this gun.
I would agree about recoil and benelli, but I recently got a Cordoba and it is the finest shooting, faster cycling gun I have ever had.I look forward to shooting this gun for comparison.
This looks a lot like the SX3 which in my opinion is one of the best shotguns out there, I have one and I have cycled about 400 rounds through it without cleaning it and never had a jam. If you want to save some money I would go with an SX3 but this new browning looks sweet.
I really like my Beretta Xtrema II. It's very reliable and light and is fast on the cycling rate.
For me, the gun is about the feel, so I'll have to try this sooner or later. However it's not likely that I'll get a new autoloader shotgun anytime soon.
Does the Browning Maxus come with large magazine capacities? The fact that my Beretta could hold 12 rounds is what got me.
Benelli and Beretta, and Remington for that matter, are good guns no doubt. What counts is speed, reliability and price.
The Browning Silver is equal or better than Benelli at half the price. It is a lot softer to shoot and functions at least as well. The Maxus takes it to the next level and still is priced lower than Benelli.
An over/under is more reliable than a Benelli. Also, every benelli I have shot kicked like a mule. I'll take a gas system over the inertia system any day of the week. I've got an 1187 that hasn't had a FTF in 15 years of hunting or target use. Brownings current system is IMO a few steps above Remingtons and this system looks to be better yet. I can't wait to get my hands on one.
Nothings more reliable than a Benelli. Browning's gun is a gas system which is always less reliable than an Inertia Driven system. Browning is going after Benelli with this one but they can't go head to head with Benelli on reliability.
I owned a Benelli SBE and it broke after a few boxes of magnum loads. I sent it to be repaired and it took them two months to send it back. I sold it and bought a Browning Sliver. That gun is unbreakable. I bet this one will be the same.
I don't know when the last time you shot a Gas system like the Browning but they are hands down more comfortable and as reliable as a inertia driven gun. Why do you think Benelli has to cut holes in their stock and place rubber recoil reduces in them? Inertia driven technology is an antipuated system. Look at the video on the SX3 Patrick Flanigun from Winchester and tell me thats not reliable.
This is the best autoloader ever made...Bar None. Watch for this one to dominate Beretta and Benelli as it is faster, lighter, softer recoil and less expensive. FN/Browning has the best engineering in the world.
No animals were harmed in the making of this film....

A great gun no question. Will it take over the title of supremacy from the Xtrema II? I dont think so.
Simple facts:
-nothing beats the KO system
-reliability benchmark from the X2 is more than most will ever need
-X2 kills birds (period)
I dont see this gun taking over the market share. But it will be a close second. Without the KO system, its already obsolete

My citori o/u is one of the sweetest guns to shoot, HAH IT CANT JAM!! i mean its only 2 shells but oh well thats what you have friends for

If the Benelli Inertia system is so reliable why did they use a Gas System on the M1014? Gas automated guns are more reliable.

This is the best autoloader ever made...Bar None. Watch for this one to dominate Beretta and Benelli as it is faster, lighter, softer recoil and less expensive. FN/Browning has the best engineering in the world.

So what's the difference btw the power drive vs active valve?

So, this is a new shotgun, right? When will it be available? I was thinking buying a new 12 Ga this year.

Comment se fait-il alors que cette video soit présente sur Youtube alors que Browning n'a pas encore fait d'annonce officielle du Maxus?

He said, "It's Argentina time." Argentina is known for the best dove hunting in the world.
