main problem i had with this vid, though the playing wasn't at the level you'd hope for an instructional piece, was the cinematography. the moments in which the camera man chose to film just her head in the corner of the screen and what not.... the video is 1:40, way too much happened with camera changes.... and, to be honest, in a bass vid i don't really care what she looks like.

moral of the story: filming style was distracting of the actual subject matter.

I wonder if this is the same Sharon Ray that was working in the SO Guitar Center many years ago, and sold me my first MM Sterling. If so, great! She was great then, and fantastic now. The real deal, guys-she has worked hard, has all the Jaco stuff down, teaches and told me about 'the wolf' that every instrument has- (ie dead spot) and how a player will get around the wolf, since no instrument is perfect. She is fast and funky with chops that are quite amazing. Great sense of humor and wit.

I am a bass guitar veteran. Sharon has some cool licks and techniques, no doubt. But she is not locking in with, and grooving to, the beat. She is rushing, right out of the gate. At times, she seems unsure of herself. She has great potential, but needs a lot of work to really "be there and represent". I say this with all due respect because I am a strong supporter of female musicianship, but still honest with constructive criticism.

I too, am a bass veteran (25+ years) and will have to agree with ironflame12. She has potential. However, she is way out of sync here. He groove could be solid, but in this example it is not. I like her finger tremolo technique and think that with some training she could be awesome.

I came to this one hoping it was somehow better than the other solo you had posted so that I could post something nice. Unfortunately, not only is it the same beat, same key. But most of it is the same recycled dry riffs you were playing in Bass Solo 2. Honestly, you are a decent musician. I don't like ripping on other musicians. But the only way this could get worse is if you put out a "Bass Solo 3" vid. Sorry if it seems mean. I just have high expectations of those who wish to teach.
