Michael Jordan is by far the best player of all time. I remember the day when he said in front of the cameras before game 7 vs the Indiana Pacers back in 1998 "We are going to win game 7" "I don't make promises. I don't even make them to my wife, but we will win game 7" And the rest is History. Long Live The King of Basketball!
Negli archivi della rai la partita credo che ci sia. Mentre guardavo la puntata di "sfide" sullo scudetto di caserta nel '91, hanno trasmesso delle immagini di questa partita. Erano più nitide di queste, quindi penso che ce l'abbiano
2:45..what the heck was that guy doing rushing up to michael jordan? i know what i was doing on 8/25/1985. i was at shea stadium with my father watching dwight gooden become the youngest pitcher ever to win 20 games. i was 4.
On August 25, 1985, I was four years old, and I was in Shea Stadium, with my father, watching Dwight Gooden become the youngest pitcher ever to win 20 games in a season--my first ever baseball game. It's interesting to see what else happened on that day. :)
@randycash39 the "gay music" is by the guy who shared this great vid, these probably were some highlights from a local TV, instead of the voices of the TV news man the owner of the put this 85 music:)
Great to see MJ in Italy, I'm Italian and this game was not far from where I live, but I was 3 at the time..:(
jpsp74, I love basketball. I'm 5'10 and I am able to dunk! I just took the famous training workout at (50 inch vertical [dot] com) - you can probably do it too
High Energy Jordan, what a pleasure to watch and what a pleasure to read the funniest comments here :-))) and I was very touched by Jordans Hall of Fame speech, I see nothing wrong with it.
Some of those guys on the court had no idea who they are palaying against... I think I reconginzed Drazen Dalipagic among other players, but I'm not sure...
I would think you don't become the best at something without being a little bit of a jerk. Especially in sports where it's a cut throat situation. IMO he was by far a better role model than much of the shitheads we got today. At least Lebron James seems like a humble nice guy. Kobe. Not so much but that is what makes him most deadly on the court in this era. Arrogance. You can't go kissing everyone's ass when you're trying to beat them.
I was disappointed with his comments in his Hall of Fame speech. However, everyone I know who knows him (we're both from the same town in North Carolina) says that he's a great guy. I don't know him personally, but I've heard mostly good things about him.
This awsome clip tells me one thing: somewhere in the world today there is a 22 year old, half-Jordan half-Italian walking around, cause you know when you break a backboard, you get laid.
This is not suppose to be impressive... Games like this is not for competition but for fun..more like the globetrotters stuff. So why are you supposed to be impressed. It's actually the "old school" marketing of the NBA back in the days to promote basketball;that is, if you were very smart enough to sense It is not what it is; that is, you're supposed to be impressed. I mean look at the uniforms and the players and all...It just didn't show any competitiveness atmosphere.
it's not supposed to. europeans got their first live taste of what the Greatest American Basketball player had to offer. I bet everyone in that stadium thats alive today remembers that game very well.
It's interesting who has this game , no highlights , but also 1981 McDonald's High School? Certainly somebody has it, every year new games appear - which were missing earlier on the market. I have about 20000 games, but I received about 100 of them in this year. Earlier, I was sure that they don't exist - and it was mistake , they exist - private persons most often have them.
ok its like not even fair cuz MJ is like 5 billion times better than them plus they're not even trying. It's like me playing a bunch of middle school kids, i'd slaughter them
he probably wanted to keep it a hidden gem. so that over 20 years later just when everybody thought they've seen everything of MJ, BAM! something new appears that would get fans talkin and going nuts. I wonder when Fox Sports or the mainstream guys get a hold of this so they can feature it in their best damn dunks compilation. this one slip under the radar haha
OMG this video is crazy. the other team was like "WTF?" I know at half time the player at 1:11 said, "Ok, who's gonna guard 23? Not me!" LOL then later on MJ comes off the pick-n-roll at 1:49 and dude just BACKS UP...lmao. and dude who got picked off Mike makes a "it isnt even worth it" defensive block attempt. HA!
vera: A young Jordan? 1.7blocks per game and over 3 steals a game was not good defense. Lets not get into an all around game where he averaged 32.5ppg, 8rpg, 8apg and 2.89spg.
The mans jumper was always silky smooth. Look at any of the games that Hoopsencyclopedia posts and you'll see how amazing his jumper was.
His ft% was at 85.7% on his 3rd year and his fg% was always above 50% expect for the year of his injury.
Do you even know basketball? Jordan defense was always good. From first year in college through the pros. Only people that only focus on his offense didn't realize. He did not choose to shoot outside 15ft until later in his career. How many guards shot over a better percentage than him not Lebron or Kobe. I watched all his games from senior year in high school until retirement... alot of you cats never watched him until the pros if at all.
I can't agree with you, didn't the young Jordan received an MVP and Most Defensive Player in 1988? For me, 1984-1991 that is the unmatched Jordan as far as physical skills is concerned. His outside shooting is not terrible, he likes to penetrate defense rather shooting outside.
who here thinks that bron bron has a snowballs chance in hell of ever being defensive player of the year.... offense was only one part of Jordans all around game.. no comparison..never will
Jordan in his prime, shot 35.2% from 3, 1984-1993, in the playoffs. Jordan shot 38.7%(55/142) in his first 3-peat run. Kobe shot 37.6%(58/154) in his three-peat. This is when the defenses were the stiffest, and kobe had many more easy looks with defenses collapsing on shaq, the finals MVP.
Jordan = 854 games, 25.5% at 1.2 attempts 37 games, 40.3% at 5.8 attempts (stats DO NOT include the short 3-line years)
Kobe = 125 games, 41.9% at 9.1 attempts 741 games, 29.7% at 2.8 attempts
Kobe in games with 2 or less attempts, is 23.4%(101/432) for his career, Jordan is 23.3%(102/437) in games from 1986-1998 with two or less. Kobe is stellar in 14% of his games from 3, and way below par in 86% of his games on average.
"especially when you consider that the three point line in MJ's day was farther away from the basket than it is presently."
You have no clue what you're talking about. The line was moved in for two years at some point in the 90's and then it moved right back out. It was 23'9 for the majority of MJ's career and for all of Kobe's.
Jordan developed his outside shot after the 37.1ppg season, becoming a more consistent scorer. Its little known, that in the Bulls 40 wins in 86(virtually half an NBA season), Jordan averaged 40.1 points a game, on 53% shooting.
Jordans ability to hang in the air double pump and shoot the ball all with one hand is nothing short of amazing. GOAT

I would think you don't become the best at something without being a little bit of a jerk. Especially in sports where it's a cut throat situation. IMO he was by far a better role model than much of the shitheads we got today. At least Lebron James seems like a humble nice guy. Kobe.
