It is too bad that 136 hostages died, they should have had the medical resources prepared to help the hostages. However, in this situation I don't think there could have been any better way to handle the terrorists, they had bombs and were ready to die. Any other type of assault by the Russians would have resulted in a lot more than 136 lost hostages.

This wasnt the only time Russian SF teams went in before a thorough plan was laid out! 2years later there was another assault at Beslan number one school, the number of killed still unknown, the perimeter not secured, some of the terrorists were believed to have escaped! Yeah Russian SF teams are just fan-fuckin-tastic! The Russians were offered help from other countries and units and they declined, the old Russia lives on behind closed doors, but its people dont matter to the Kremlin!

The whole thing was rushed coz the Kremlin wanted the situation over and dealt with as soon a spossible! SAS, Delta, GSG9, GIGN or other specialist anti terrorist units wouldve done the job after thorough planning and risk assessment! The SAS are the leading unit the world over in this field! FACT

Yeah it is sad that people died, but in a building chock full of bombs where if even one had been set off the others could have detonated what choice did they have? America, British, Israeli or any other special forces you want to name could not have taken out 41 terrorists with control over those bombs without the entire building and all hostages being destroyed. They won in the only way possible. If the navy seals or HRT had tried it everyone would be dead includeing the assualt team.
