The pet store where I got mine told me not to let them eat the grass even if YOU don't spray your yard the chemicals your neighbors apply can get into your yard and lawn. Makes em sick

When I contacted them for it, they said they were almost gonna put her to sleep, bechoose who really wants a 3 year old rabbit, who can't even cope with other bunnies. ( Everyone wants 1year or less old ) But now shes an angel, lowes attention, lets me pet her, lift her without a problem, and brush and trim nails, with no problem.

@pizzaeater6 You can also transport them in such a regular plastic box thingy they use for cats. Just put something like a blanket in it and try to prevent any nibbling on the plastic. Make sure to bring some of it's favourite food while travelling (rabbits need to keep eating). Some rabbits get terrified and shouldn't be moved around unless really neccesary, but i had a rabbit that was totally fine with it, even if i had to take the train with him for 2 hours to get to my parents' house.
@lastlind She was hardly choking him, just picking him up. And it isn't sure he was going in... Rabbits tend to sniff, then hop away. And even if they're in, they can suddenly decide they want to go out. And then you'll have their whiskers stuck in the zipper or something. So especially if you're in a hurry it's better to make sure he's absolutely IN, then swiftly close it.

did you guys know there's a book called "Rabbit Adoption for Dummies". it claims that physiologically and psychologically bunnies are very different from cats and dogs-or any other pet you may be familiar with-and they have their own unique needs and problems that must be addressed. it explains how to choose the right rabbit, how to communicate with your bunny, feed and house the rabbit properly etc

We have a fenced in yard, but I'm worried about neighbor cats and dogs getting to our bunnies if I took them outside without their harnesses. Hi Shiloh! If you can find the same playpen in your area it works really well. You can even buy two of them and hook them together to make one GIANT playpen!
@DevastatorIIC Unless your rabbits are quite big (a cat is superior when it's a baby Polar Dwarf, but doomed when he runs into a Flemish Giant), it's better to stay alert and stay with them when they are running around.
Some play pens also come with a covering net, to keep cats and preditor birds and such form your cuties. If you don't have one you could try making one. It's also easier to support a shading cloth that way, for when it's very warm outside.
Please don't get a bunny through a breeder or pet store. Too many bunnies are abandoned after Easter when their owners no longer want to care for them. Please consider adopting. Shelters are full of them. Or worse yet, too many little buns are set "free" only die a horrible death by cars, starvation, poison, or become food for other animals. I'm pretty allergic to dogs and cats. I have problems with my eyes itching and watering, and my nose running. But, I have absolutely no problems with the bunnies. If you are planning to purchase from a rabbit breeder, most will allow you to schedule an appointment to visit the bunnies before buying one. You should be able to tell if you are allergic within a few minutes of being around the bunnies.
