  • wow. these would be amazing if they were to the LEFT. but to the right? stellar!

  • J. Ralph One Million Miles Away

  • what level is she?

  • cruel mercy us right about the helmets and the safety stuff. about the vaulting, your compulsories are awesome! especially your scissors!

  • magnifique!!

  • your scissors where amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

also your flank. and mill. and flag. and the WHOLE thing.

i bet you have been doing with stuff for a longgggg time. x

  • is it just me or is that horse huge... it looks like he'd be awsome to ride... smooth canter... sigh

  • normal sized for a vaulting horse :p

  • sam was my judge at barrel fst and we also had a clinic

    SHE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow I Love Her Scissors.. I Cant do Them That Good But I Love Doing heel Clicks ;)

  • what the name of this song??

  • i know her! she comes and does clinics with us alot. and u got this from the AVA website didnt u?

  • Amazing, I can't do gymnastics on the floor let alone on my horse! It would be a total disaster! Book my hospital bed quick hahaha!

  • Boa nich schlecht ;)

  • wow... great.. im jealous!

  • WOAH She did a good job and she is so THIN!

  • nice.. good hight in mula (mill) but we have been taught to hold each leg for 4 canter strides.. she held it for about 2? hahha

  • Each pass is to be done within 4 strides, but not necessarily held for the whole 4 strides. Looked like she probably would have gotten a timing fault for the last leg pass, being one stride late. Awesome compulsories, though...and back when they did a ground jump after mill.

  • yeah she has amazing compulsories ae. alot of training has gone into these. i love her siscors =]

  • hehe...even more amazing is I just noticed they are compulsories to the right, which are kind of hard to learn after you've learned them to the left.

  • oh yeah! haha i onli just noticed that now haha. wow that would be hard

  • yeah, now since Gold vaulters do Technical test instead of compulsories to the right, seeing really good right complusories are a bit more rare.

  • the horse is well big :O

i would never be able to do that in a million years =/. lol

  • VRY nice, how did u learn to do siccors so well?? how ling did that take to become hta wel?? i have vaulted since i was little, on/and off. i am back in and i want to do it consistantly. thanks.

  • I'm not Samantha, but I've worked with her. She learned a cast to handstand on bars in gymnastics to help her flight. She also works the scissors technique to death on the ground and with exercise balls. Hope that helps!

  • It is so exciting watching these vaulting videos. Thanks for the inspiration. I used to vault in my 20's until I moved to an area with NO vaulting. I wasn't very good at it, but it was the most fun thing I've ever done. Now that I'm 50,I've just purchased a horse that I think will work as a vaulting horse and plan to get a group going. He is already accepting us vaulting up on him at the trot (and doing some simple things at the walk). I'd be happy to be half as good as this vaulter.

  • i'm a vaulter myself and i have to say, you make it look easy. congrats for your wonderful routine.

One question: What music did you use for your routine? My vaulting team is re-doing the music and I was just o=wondering who it was by.

    Thank you

  • that was a huge horse!

  • Well, me being the over obsessed person here, I must put in my two cents..

Smith IS a great vaulter, but if I was a R judge, this is what I would say:

Based on her flank, she lost a lot of height during scissors. She also had poor scop in the mill, good height during the top but lack thereof in the rest. Even though there isn't a time limit she would be docked for time. However, her flag was beautiful.

  • i try this it took be like a month to get it right at the canter :P

but i only do it with one of my horses now Dolton because he has a really smooth canter and my other horse i like to jump her and Dolton cant jump so i do some of this :P but i think i like jumping way better :P

  • Actually, there is no record anywhere in the world of a head injury in vaulting. Wearing a helmut is EXTREEMLY dangerous because one of the primary safety skills that every vaulter should learn from the very begining is to roll when they fall. This is called a bailout roll. Wearing a helmut would cause the momentum to stop as the vaulter rolls, causing serious injury to the neck. Also the footing serves the purpose of a helmut anyway. Having the same softness and compression/absobtion as a helmut

  • she isnt wearing a helmet what does she want to kill herself!!!!

  • cruel mercy is right, once ur at that level ur not allowed to wear a helemt, especially not during a comp

  • Heck, your not suposed to wear a helmet at ANY level. They are more dangerous to wear than not beucase of the up side down moves and riging. The only people who wear helmets are the thereputic kids, and even Valley View dosen't wear them most of the time. Trust us, its safe. In fact, going by accidents the safest horse sport there is. If you would like a list of reasons why e-mail me.

  • @fishiz3434

Wow! Really? Thats interesting. Why are you not allowed to wear a helmet?

  • @zavakuria Yeah it's odd but makes sense when u see some of the moves. When your doing most of the more advance moves with three on the horse the helmet can put the vaulter off balance, get in the way of a move, place extra stress on the neck(shoulder stands) and i they are more likely to clash heads with a helmet. I even let my younger vaulters(with parent permission) vault without a helmet when they start doing upside down moves as the helmets hurt their necks. :)

  • @fishiz3434 ah, I see! That makes sense. I can imagine it putting a lot of stress on the neck with shoulder stands- I can't even stretch my neck with a helmet! None the less do all this- thanks for the info! :))

  • @zavakuria no worry's :)

  • not safe but it was still cool but not safe

  • well actually...

vaulting has a better safety record than gymnastics, football, basketball, soccer, jumping on the trampoline, and riding a bike...pretty much safer than any other recreational activity. and at her level it's actually dangerous to wear a helmet, because it gets in the way and impairs your vision. :)

  • Every rider should learn this stuff. IT would give them an AWSOME seat. This stuff is amazing. The horse is great! I LOVE IT.

  • yup^^ in Germany you learn to vault long before you ever learn to ride^^

  • Thats awsome.. Looks so smooth and that horse is Devine!

  • she did a great job!!! i did vaulting for a little bit and for those of you who don't know, those are all of the basics of vaulting. everyone starts with these basic and eventually advances to routines. this girl had a lot of technique and displayed them very well!

  • I can't even do that with my horse being still!! That is AMAZING!

  • i would just about kill myself if i tried this!

  • anyone know what song this is?

  • we have ta h0ld 0ur mula f0r 4 stridez n she 0nli seemd 2 h0ld it 4 lyk 1 0r 2 haha im c0nfused n0w haha

  • she has space under her butt on her mill, but you're right, amazing flight!!

  • ITs like ballerinas on horseaback! lol
