  • chills!

  • God bruce wails on that telecaster.I havent heard streets in a while. I walk with angels that have no face. LONG LIVE BRUCE !!!

  • my dad introduced me to this song and i grew up with it actually

    i love it

  • It takes a real artist to write dark songs about real-life dark characters...and no one does it better than Bruce.

  • There is nobody, simply nobody aound at the moment who can hold a candle to the Boss..........and sorry Gameranger, the best Boss track at least for me, remains .......Cadillac Ranch..........pure rock and roll!!

  • 'Then you realize how they tricked you this time, But it's all lies cause' I'm strung out on the wire'. Stellar writing, stellar track.

  • Is there anyone more intense than The Boss? This song always makes me cry because it reminds me of my Dad.

  • Its the winter of 96 and its snowing and my trucks clutch dies in the dark on a snowy backroad. The next day the Girlfriend tells me I dont rock her world

and I am feeling like I am living in the Darkness.

then the next day I hear this song on the radio as I am driving in the dark

and a new Bruce Springsteen fan is born

Everytime life strings me out on a wire I listen to this

song and it makes me want to fight and keep going

    thanks Bruce

  • He Makes Some Epic Faces !

  • still blows me away everytime i see this song just amazing

  • That solo is bitchin!

  • WAHEEEEE

  • The Base in Born In The USA is awesome live..powerful base :P

Especially if youre standing on the front row hehee.

  • can't wait to hear this and the rest of the darkness on the edge of town album tonight :-)

  • Darkness album is incredible.

  • when the time comes that I'm no longer alive.....i hope there is "darkness" in heaven, otherwise, send me to where the "darkness" is.

  • YES!!

  • such a song....i was so close in udine when he played it.....i went absolutely crazy.....i had the streets of fire sign in Torino 2 nights before...

  • This song's got some muscle. No wonder they call him The Boss.

  • YES!!!

  • you can' t pick just one.

  • i so love these guys.

  • My new tattoo..."In the darkness I heard someone call my name"..perfection!!

  • that sounds cool...................

  • I left this on another post but I'll repeat it here:

I love Bruce but I have two problems with him that are well illustrated in this video.

#1 - He's actually a great guitar player but almost NEVER likes to display what I know is an incredible facility with that instrument.

#2 - His guitar always seems to be too low in the mix.

The result: Some people have no idea how good he really is on that instrument. He used to be 'killer' - Clapton-esque Les Paul/ Marshall Stack - kind of 'killer'.

  • I think the same goes with his piano playing - way underated too !!

  • One of my favorite songs

  • IM-PRE-SIO-NAN-TE

  • Brilliant. 1.29 in, he sounds perfect

  • His pipes can still howl. THANKS BRUCE!!!!

  • Classic. This was definitely his most gritty album with this and Adam Raised a Cain. Gotta love it.

  • ageless, timeless, amazing!!!

  • I've said it before, and I'll say it again.......'Streets' is the unsung hero from Darkness..........A perfect album

  • The whole Darkness album is underrated, Streets Of Fire, Racing In The Street, Something In The Night... three brilliant songs that are rarely played, Darkness truly is an epic album.

  • DONT FORGET!

'Candy's Room' and 'Adam raised a Cain' are amazing

Streets of fire was played not long ago at South carolina lol

  • Yeah they're good, but I think the songs I previously mentioned are better, but that's just my opinion anyway.

  • I dont have a favorite song of bruce's. I just cant pick. Its just what i am feeling that day. Sometimes its 'roll fo the dice' sometimes 'murder inc.' it all just depends...

  • @gameranger10 My top 20 Bruce tracks are 1.The River 2.Born To Run 3.I'm on Fire. 4.Racing In The Street. 5.Born In The USA 6.Independence Day 7.Backstreets 8.Stolen Car 9. The Rising 10.Something In The Night 11.Streets Of Philadelphia 12.County Fair 13.Long Walk Home 14.Jungleland 15.Bobby Jean 16.Walk Like A Man 17.Nebraska 18. American Skin 20.Atlantic City. But your right, it changes from year to year and the list could go on and on!

  • @johnny67448

How can you have Jungleland so low?! And no Incident!

    Interesting, though.

  • @Eeza07 I love Jungleland but Bruce has so many great songs, I could do a top 100 list! Incident is a great song, I just don't like the outro!

  • god damn i want ot see this song live but its so rare

  • omg I think I was there. I sat up in the seats in front of the stage...wayyyyy back tho.

  • Very lucky!

  • also, i love the live version of this song in any form. i just wish he would have kept the lyrics the same as the album in the first verse.

even in the lyrics in the album jacket the last line is "and leave you stranded face to face with streets of fire" but on the album he says "and baby i ain't no liar i walked streets of fire"

always thought that sounded a lot cooler

  • i thought it was

    don't look at my face

    don't come around my place

  • I'm a year late, but was just listeing recently to a Bruce bootleg from 1978, and it def. sounds like he says exactly as you said it.

  • That line at the end of the last verse is impossible to hear, I don't think it means anything. This is one of Bruce's most under rated songs, it's stunning, the guiater solo on th studio version is what rock music is all about.

  • He says

It's all lies and I'm strung out

    On a wire in

    Streets of Fire

  • RIP Danny Fedirici:(

  • from like 3:03 or so to 3:10 When the music dies down and the wind blows, i got chills

  • no, the end of the song. After Angles that hide no place; sounds like "don't look down at my face", then another line which is inaudible.

  • I shoulda clarified; I meant the studio version from the record.

  • sounds quility is a bit crappy, abnd dosnt give dredit to its overwhelming power. This son is fantantastic, go and see the 1978 version in Passiac....just fenomenal!

If there is any girl that like this song then you must merry me!

  • after "angels that hide no place", what does he say? Can't find on google.

  • the line is "angels that have no place" and the last line is "don't look in my face"

  • right after that line he mumbles something inaudible

  • that next line is, "you realize how they tricked you this time/ and it's all lies" then it goes in to the chorus.

  • listen to the studio version, right near the end he says "don't look in my face", then he says something about his name(?), then he says "stranded on a wire in these streets of fire". I've looked all over google and this lyric is nowehere to be found and it's driving me crazy.

  • I just listened to the song super loud and I think he says "don't come on oooooooover" either that or he was just making it up in the studio, if you look at the lyrics a lot of them are a little different then those printed in the booklet.

  • adds to the charm of this excellent and sad song

  • The exact lines are

I walk with Angels that have no place

    Don't look in my face

    Don't come on over

Because I'm stranded on a wire in these

    Streets of Fire

  • how do you know? Can't find anywhere.

  • If you listen carefully, you can pick it up, I hope I was a help :)

  • From the album "Darkness on the Edge of Town," which contains two of his three greatest "guitar" songs -- "Bandlands" and "Streets of Fire" (The other song is "Backstreets" found on "Born to Run")

  • I don't think Backstreets is all that complicated. Most of Bruce's songs don't have that many chords, but fuck, that solo in Backstreets makes me rip out the air guitar every time.

  • cant wait to see him at giants stadium in july 08

  • Infrickencredible - this man is absolutely amazing - love you Bruce. You've given my life meaning for 30 years

  • Power! I wanna hear this one live

  • Even at 50 something he's still got the emotion and energy to be the best performer ever.

  • At 58, he can still put in more energy than all bands in their 20s wish they had..

  • Yeah he does!

  • Nice. Fairly underrated song.

  • how brilliant is this.

  • Thanks im glad you enjoyed it :)

  • sure did. compares well with the 1978 one doesn't it?

  • oh yeah I totally agree with you. I was actually surprised this uploaded so well.
