TIME WARNER CABLE ranked as one of the most hated companies in the U.S.
Time Warner has been a public relations disaster for at least a decade. Blunders include usage caps, fees increasing each year faster than inflation and fraudulent business acts and bad services. In June 2011, a lawsuit was filed against Time Warner for refusing to make closed captioning available on CNN's online videos after being notified by disgrunted consumers. Recently it also aired pornography on children's channels.
That's great but this was almost a year ago, they have NOTHING like what they are showing out in the App Store, the App they do have out is useless as it only works over your home TW Internet connection, which is lame and TWC will not support the HBO GO app, which makes the TWC app they do have out look childish.
This is ridiculous and funny, you can almost hear the elder folks in the room thinking "WTF is this, oh well let's play along, that screen in that guy's hand looks like it might catch on, HAHA he is funny he keeps stroking the screen, i need to go to the bathroom"
What is funny to me about this is the contrast between the iPad and the people in the room. The iPad and apple is successful for making things just work. They translate things down into their essential so everyone can understand. It wasn't until TWC undid the simplicity that they were able to come out with something like this.
The production value by this Company is a bloody joke. TIME WARNER CABLE can't come up with better produced video? Temporal Axis? WTF? Is this supposed to be some down to earth more connected to regular people? You guys are SUITS.
Was this shot on a Flip camera? No microphones, no lighting, Handheld? What a joke.
Why is it that corporate types can take something potentially exciting and turn it into the most mind numbing, soul killing bore fest imaginable? Just removing your jacket doesn't mean you're not still a suit. A boring, empty suit.
Great idea. Regarding the two "bone-heads" in the chairs- they are EXACTLY what is wrong with TWC. This company has the most hideous customer service I have ever experienced. These guys look like they could care less about this technology. Having them in this demo was a huge mistake because it turned my stomach to watch and brings back the awful memories of what an awful experience it is to be a customer of TWC! They will be irrelevant soon.
@unctarheels27517 I Couldn't agree more on all your points. So funny too that one of the first things I thought while watching was what a mistake it was to have the "old folks" (no offense to my elders) in the video.
Aside from that it was poorly produced and unclear to some degree and the use of jargon was nauseating. This should have been an introduction video to what they have in the works and it's fine to have the execs speak but they should have had a prepared message.
I just want the ability to set my DVR online like you can do on Comcast now (or DirecTV, or FiOS or TiVo for that matter). If I can do it from my iPhone, that's cool, but even a web interface would be a good enough start.

The iPad didn't become a much more convenient and versatile, it was already. You mean to say Time Warner became more convenient and versatile.

How does a video made by such a huge company look so amateurish? (I suppose it matches the amateurishness of their services.)

When are companies going to understand that a staged "discussion" simply turns people off from the message they are trying to send.
Cool idea, but when I watch this I'm thinking:
Staged
Out of Touch
Forced Image [fake]
