  • there is nothing that screams cool more than a japanese rock guitar legend playing on traditional japanese grounds

  • This is very nice, I need to track down the Hana CD.

  • He makes it sound like hes on one continueous string

  • Classic, all of Taks albums are great, you dont have 3 signature Gibsons if you arent good.

  • @outofthisswirled hes the only non american to have signature gibsons, that says something

  • @FlamingArcher What are you on about? There are loads of signature Gibsons that are for English musicians lol

Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton has a Crossroads ES-355. Jeff Beck. Peter Frampton. Mick Jones. Steve Jones.

  • @thechadz03 TAK's the only asian though.

  • the erhu at the end is amazing. this melody is eargasmic!

  • eargasmic

  • this song is really good along with his other songs

  • I saw Tak Matsumoto, Koshi Inaba, and Specal guest Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big) they played this song "live" back in 2002 Okinawa Conventon Center concert duing Bz Green Tour! Awesome and very inspirational!!!! Thanks

  • Ai Shiteru

  • I first heard this song on the radio when I was visiting Japan back in 2002. I loved the song so much I went out and rented the Cd, Hana.

The blend of Erhu and electric guitar is so evocative. This song remains as beautiful today as the time I first heard it. Bravo, 5 stars!

  • the intro is like the song "If" from Bread.

    But this song is beautiful.

  • this song is super bravo!!!

  • 5/5 :D

  • Thanks YT user Aldomeyer for sharing this video with me. Tak Matsumoto added a soundscape of serenity to my morning. The video has finished playing but I can still hear his performance.

  • yeah.. a very bluesy solo at the end

  • very true, the melody itself is very easy to learn. but the real hard parts of this song is the expression of the notes. and that is why tak matsumoto is a master.

  • 5 stars!

  • which album is it from?

  • you can find it on album 'Hana' and on cd 'House Of Strings' you can find another version

  • @Miyavi1987Ko its from an album called Hana..i have been trying to find a copy of it FOREVER!!!

  • @kreazeecanuck Are we talking about the same Hana CD? Cause it's been available on cdjapan.co.jp for ages

  • Could someone please send me this song?

  • TAK MATSUMOTO RULEEEEEES

  • I love this song...Does anyone have tabs for this? Theirs just some songs that I'd die to get the tabs for and this is one of them.

  • learn it by ear.

    it's not that hard.

  • if u learn the pentatonic scale, u should have no problem working out the tune :)

  • I believe the erhu part is played by a Chinese erhu player called Chen Min. She does an erhu verion on her 2004 album. Check it out on itunes.

    And yes, Matsumoto kicks ass!

  • His tone is magical, love it, song is amazing, love it.

  • that's where i want to be, it's wonderfull...so peacefull

Tak matsumoto represents the essence of chinese style of song.

    5 star!

  • Hes Japanese

  • yeah, the erhu in this song is chinese though :)

  • this song is tak's guiter + Chinese fiddle

  • + occasional gong

  • yh but its a chinese melody

  • Aboslut perfect. Sound....climatronic (?)

    Takahira is the best !

    gitarowe pozdrowienia z Kielc.

  • wat a beautiful song. Felt like cryin(almost did cry)Thanx 4 uploadin this.

  • geez... And they say that Carlo Santana is the best... They haven't heard Tak Matsumoto. I love his songs D: And I want more Tak Matsumoto Group albums :3

  • Damn! His Kansai Blues style really touches emotions! Makes me want to stay in Japan! I love this song!

  • Ough... I love this. He is a world class guitar player, and it seems that he is highly underrated in the rest of the world... He got the speed, the technique and the feel. Well, to me, he is the Japanees answer to Gary Moore. He might even be better then Gary, since i've never seen him play live. I love this song and i love Tak. It would be nice to se him here in Sweden for once. LOOOOOOOOÖÖVVVVEEEEEEE!

  • live he plays very clean(not sloppy), which I like.

the tone is perfect, vibrato is perfect, and lots of emotion in his playing.

  • absoloutly amazing....

  • 5 stars for sure!!!

Tak Matsumoto is the best rock guitarist in Japan.

This song has more emotional and great harnomics.

    I really like it.^^

  • Oh man, I nearly started to cry...

This is the most beautiful instrumental song I´ve ever heard....

  • this song means a lot in my life.. i dunno, i suddenly realized that when tears came from my eyes... man, i'm a big guy, that should've never happened be4 i listened 2 this song...

the most beatiful song i've ever heard.. hiks hiks...

  • To repeat what others have said: It is a magnificent video clip. The clip is wonderful, the music is wonderful, the country is wonderful...

  • I remember hearing this song on the radio in Japan in 2002 and I went out and bought the album immediately, such a beautifully composed melody. I also played the Tak gibson signature model guitar he's playing in the video in a guitar shop.

FYI this song is track no.3 from the solo album "HANA", and you can get it from ebay.

  • 50% TECHNIQUE and 50% FEELING. Not many guitarrist can do that. This song is amazing. I recomended the entire album. If you can get it. In México is almost imposible. Guitar Forever. SIDDHARTA 2007.

  • AWESOME. And damnit, the whole technique vs. emotion always pervades pop music discussions, but in my opinion, Tak is damn talented and his music is very emotional to boot. Mere technique by the "world's best" instrumentalists often leave me cold.

  • Awesome song. It sends shivers up my spine. I saw this on MuchMoreMusic and I've finally found it.

  • I've been searching high and low for an .mp3 of Koi Uta, but even as I went to look, I found that neither Limewire nor Kazaa seem to acknowledge Tak Matsumoto's existance!

If anyone can help me find this music file, I would be most grateful...

  • use emule

  • iTunes sells this song for 99 cents.

  • u want this song go 2 liwewire now.............

  • How would I go by at getting this vid? I have Limewire Pro and it can't find it. I really love this video and need it for my collection.

  • Awesome.

  • sunbane666 - your post made me laugh a little bit. Cause you probably think virtuoso is a guy like Vai, or Satriani. BUT. If you know Larry LaLonde, or Tak, for example - it's mastery in my opinion - knowing just when NOT TO PLAY. And to know that - you have to be a virtuoso. To make things esthetic.

  • koi means love, uta means song, it literally translates into love song

  • ouhwoah~! really great!

  • yeah when i first heard this song a couple years back (lost track and couldn't find this song till now) i thought a woman was singing in here too

  • Totemo Kirei!

    I Love Tak!

  • tak is god, this vid is absolutely beautiful

  • This is what guitar virtuouso should be - knowing how to arrange a guitar into the melody with other instruments not some scandinavian jackass shredding like no tomorrow on a "scalloped" fret guitar. WHAT THE HELL ARE THE SCALLOPED FRETS FOR RETARD?!

  • How is this guy a virtuoso? It was nicely played for sure, but this is stuff that a student with a year of experience could do easilly. When it comes to his improvised spots, his playing feels inhibited, and his vibrato is weak. There's nothing in this tune that screams 'virtuoso' on any level.

  • You analyze technique only. Realize that a guitar is not just vibrato, tapping or shredding. It's about arrangement and feel. He puts it well as an arranger, there's nothing excess. It's just enough. Not overlaying sixteenth notes plus delay and everything else.

  • sweet tune

  • that "guitar~erhu" blend in this song is just P-E-R-F-E-C-T !!!! It seems like there is a woman singing along with the guitar

  • HE SHOULD PLAY OR COMPOSe WITH NOBUO UEMATSU !!! (FF) REBORN FOREVER

  • no one can beat matsumoto!

  • great song, blends guitar with erhu

  • this is really awesome. great vid and wonderful music. thanks for uploading

  • this music vid is one of the best i've ever watched

  • oh this is sooo cool i love it! just a perfect mix of cultural elements and modern instruments

  • i love this song. got the whole album and every song is awesome.
