@calahoon22 Same here, I had never really heard the song since I never played FFXI.. But when I heard this it definately gave me goosebumps and stirred me emotionally :) The whole concert was simply BEAUTIFUL! :D
Translation of the Esperanto part: Now flows innocent blood On Vana'diel, a vast land The entire world trembles In despair from the scourge Prevented By no fate Stopped By no strength But through the stormy night Behold: a star of glory shines! Against a brutal outcry Behold: a hymn springs forth! A shining star, a ringing song: Dream and pray for us! Vana'diel! Vana'diel! Hand and hand together Across the limitless eternity We will no longer be put asunder We will no longer be bound
This sound like its from Warcraft. Yea yea I know this is from FF XI. Don't try to bite my head off. I saying that coz its got choir and sound epic in a Warcraft style.
This is just amazing. I heard this first on a Radio station and thought ' I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THIS TRACK! '. I'm glad I finally found it. This is an amazing preformance for and amazing MMORPG track. Don't care what people say but... Let's see Blizzard try to top this.
Memoro de la stono's lyrics are missing! (The Esperanto lyrics in this song can be found using google, eg. "La Memoro de la stono esperanto lyrics" -- La Esperanta teksto en tiu ĉi kanto estas trovebla per Google, ekz. "La memoro de la stono esperanto lyrics").
A nice use for Esperanto TBH. Sounds latin or otherwise european, yet isn't a natural language, so less chance of stuffing it up and having something unnatural sounding (Like "stoned memories" or something hehe).
This song will always have a special place in my heart. At the risk of sounding lame I always think of the friends I have made in Vanadiel over the past 8 or so years I have been playing FFXI. CoP was an amazing story and brought some very fantastic characters and landscapes into my gaming world. As silly as it is I cannot ever get through listening to this song without crying. Thank you Mr. Uematsu for composing such a beautiful and emotional song. <3
this song will always hold a special place in my heart after playing through CoP in FFXI. beating that story line is one of my most memorable gaming moments and always will be, and at my first Distant Worlds concert I was just blown away, another 3 concerts later and it's still the high point of the show for me.
Heard this live at the Krakow concert and was just blown away emotionally. A tour de force of a piece, and really a magnificent, touching expression of music that only Uematsu is capable of.....
@mechahalcon I went through a similar experience in the "Royal Albert Hall" in London. I was so blown away that I had to thank Uematsu, Roth and Calloway for coming all this way for the concert. As well as susans amazing voice ^_^ listening to it live is a 1000 times better in my opinion.
@mechahalcon You realize this song was not composed by Uematsu? This is from FFXI, which Uematsu had nothing to do with. This was composed by Naoshi Mizuta.
@Kongming54 Please don't write ignorant comments about something if you don't know the factual information, as it confuses other people. Uematsu composed on FFXI, if you don't believe go look at it yourself on any legitimate informational site. Not only that, but Susan Calloway, the recorded singer for the original Memoro de la stono is a good friend of Uematsu's and was personally chosen by him to sing on the record. Get your facts straight.
@mechahalcon "The expansion packs were scored by Mizuta alone after Tanioka left to pursue other projects and Uematsu left Square Enix."
From the wiki page for FFXI. This song is from the Chains of Promathia expansion pack. It was composed by Naoshi Mizuta. I am not going to argue about this any further because it's not that important, I just thought credit should be given where credit is due.
@Kongming54 Sorry but you're wrong. Taken directly from the first album, I'll even give you the track number: "25. "Despair (Memoro de la Ŝtono) (Uematsu)" " <--- Taken directly from the tracklisting as according to Wikipedias records, from the original FFXI album. Whatever information you've been given, it's false, sorry to tell you, Mizuta did compose tracks, but Memoro De La Stono is not one of them.
@Jakezing Really? Is that how you feel? Hm, well, maybe you shouldn't be so angry when you can dig the information up yourself. And, another thing, you should also be grateful that you can listen to the music. People like you are.. well.. lost. I'm completely sorry that you have a tiny little brain and can't appreciate the smaller things in life. Maybe you're the one that's not seeing the full picture...
@ValiantTerra you could also do it so we dont have to? and really, teachers of history are tiny brained? with my gradesO.o wonderful. yes. i guess my chess and go playing along with that mean nothing
@Jakezing HA HA HA HA!!!! Are you kidding?! Teachers of History?! HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! I'm sorry, but, if your really a teacher, then yeah, you've some some small ass brain 'cause I can't even understand what the heck you're typing!!! (Still laughing my ass off!) You know, you're one of the most pathetic people I've ever had a... wait, teachers of history?! HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much, 'cause now I got something to laugh about all night! You just made my day!! (Still laughing!) : )-
@Jakezing Don't get butt hurt just 'cause you can't piss me off! Laughing is actually a really good sign, it's better than yelling at the computer screen! Ha ha ha! Well, it is still funny, whether you like it or not. By the way, since it seems like you've had a bad day on the other day, I'll tell you that these two songs comes from FFXI, in other words, FINAL FANTASY XI (11).
@Jakezing If you know a lot about FINAL FANTASY, or about the soundtracks, then you should already know. What most people don't know about is the soundtrack's official information, which is why I only list soundtrack information, and not what game it's from. Most fans already know what game it comes from. You know, to avoid complications in the future, you should just ask, and not be so rude to others. You make a lot more internet friends by being nice, or at least by being calm.
@Jakezing I know. If you really pissed me off, I wouldn't be kind to you. Besides, there's no point in fighting, or typing mean things online. Because all of those rude things don't matter, and that the internet, is well, the internet. You can't jump into it and kick someone's ass. "Memoro de la Stono" and "Distant Worlds" are two different songs, combined together in one performance (or track) so that other songs can be recorded.
@Seimyx The title is actually Memoro de la Stono, but to be honest, "Answers" is a pretty damn amazing song (though I doubt you did not mean any negative remarks towards the song.) Also, would not any FFXI player feel more attached since the game as been out much much longer than FFXIV?
@Kattzman Its true. I agree "Answers" is a beautiful song too. I have yet to hear it used in FFXIV. "Memoro de la Stono" was definitely a reoccuring theme in FFXI.
I was in the theatre watching this yesterday as the whole orchestra brought this piece to my ears, and I can say, while sitting 10 feet from Nobou Uematsu himself, I pretty much cried.
Though it's partly because of the missions/quests storylines that came in the game, I'm very impressed that Memoro de la Stono ~ Distant Worlds never fails to jerk a tear from me. It must also be something in Susan's voice.
@Aleczan it's so true... I have to say it's my favorite... at least it's always first on my playlist. =P It's very epic and ethereal at the same time.
This is one of the most epic themes I've ever heard, it's too bad it didn't go to a more recent FF title in order to earn it more notoriety, but still... TOTALLY AWESOME!
@projectpatgt i play , after playing 14 i return too 11 its way better plus 11 hold more memories i cant let go and all this stuff they added make the game more fun i got from lvl 75 too 85 in like 30mins hard too believe but its was fun , 14 was a dissapointment til they fix it right , oh and there still alot of ppl playing ff11, plus i love all music from all the areas of FF11 they are the best.
