This is not a million dollar car!!! Porsche dropped the price quickly once it was launched and there is one in the uk at a Porsche garage taking offers and would accept 225,000 for it.
@ulef19 it was produce in around 1250 plus man..so it's not a limited production car, if you sell it, it will be lower than the price that you purchase it for a firsthand, just like the ferrari f40. so sad man..
@sengalkol The F40 is starting to come into it's own and will be a million dollar piece eventually like this no doubt will. Msrp 04 was around $455,000 and can be had nowadays for less then $375,000 and will no doubt bottom around $250k before going back up. F40 held it's original sticker and really never dropped at $375k!
@d14d yeah indeed..but remember some customer even pay more than a million for one of the prancing horse master piece the f40, but in the end it just end up around 300k above, not more than that though.it will happen to the carrera also due to it's number of production line, unless the car own by someone famous who really could overcome the materialism value due to sentimental value overcome materialism value kind of thing.
@sengalkol This could easily entre "The Million Dollar Dream Club" by the end of the decade and wouldn't be surprised to see it do just that. Especially when the true followup comes by like 2013/14 timeframe will no doubt spike demand in the 980,
@sengalkol In Porsche numbers 1,207 total units (estimated that between 950 - 1,000 still survive to this day) and production only ran from like Q3 2003 - Q2 2006 makes it a limited production. There are at least 50,000 911's produced annually with an estimated like 125,000 cars produced total annually (911 - Boxster - Cayman - Cayenne - Panamera and 918) makes the P980 Carrera GT rare by comparo. The 959 which ran form 84 - 86 only 200 makes both uber rare!
@d14d yes indeed 950-1000 unit might be survive..but in the end the total unit of the production that matters because when it's being auction the total unit of production define the car exclusivity or sometimes the owner himself could make the car more exclusive, for example look at the ferrari enzo(401),the 250 gto(under 40 i heard),599 gto(599),mclaren f1(101), Mercedes Benz clk gtr(35 i think),and the porsche 911 gt1(26 i think),the price of each car just rise up especially the 250 gto..
@d14d nice..actually there's 401 enzos i know because my dad is one of the firsthand owner and still owns it (one lucky dude..),one of it own by a stupidly rice sheikh caught on fire and ferrari willing to make another one with the same serial number,no.400 went to the pope.there's 101 mclaren with 1 unofficial black LM belong to the sultan of brunei..totally respect that dude..i thought the fxx&599xx were mule that a fanatic client bought only not to be able to bring it home,so it's useless..
i watchd tis video eva single day eva since it came out n da Porsche Carrera GT neva faild to take my breath away. its da most beautiful xotic i eva seen i always hav been a porsche guy
