  • LMAO my dad built two of the shopfronts for that tesco because you idiots destroyed them and i was talking to the security there and they said about 40% of the people that are protesting actually shop at tesco :)

  • I bet most of them shop at Tesco :P But I do see their point about proximity, we have three all within three square miles where I live, one is enough.

  • @KidRiviera Yeah but if the community don't want Tesco like they claim then there is no problem for local shops, right? As the local shops could only be harmed if the community started shopping at Tesco. It seems odd logic for the PRSC to claim the community oppose Tesco and therefore it shouldn't be opened, why not just let the community do the talking. If local businesses are harmed then this is what the community's fault for shopping at Tesco, it isn't Tesco's fault.

  • The PRSC tesco protest has to be the saddest joke imaginable, and if you're some naive first year uni Gemima or jeremy thing of getting involved, ask yourself this question....is it worth throwing away your career with a criminal record for a bunch of cider drinking crack addict squatters living in a property that isn't theirs and is payed for by your parents? If you want to ne tarred with the same brush as the prick who threw the ascaffolding pole of the roof, go ahead. No Banksy limited editi

  • @jhjyjfg It's fear that keeps you in your place of NEVER CHANGING ANYTHING. plus it's more than just stopping tescos. The strike is empowering for the community and since you don't live there, you're obviously never going to understand. Some people are brave enough to advocate for change and some people just obey and accept while judging others who do,,,,,,,the saddest joke of all.

  • Tesco FTW

  • what community, my friend got mugged there before the TESCO was even planned!!!

    explain sum1 please.

  • "I can't wait till that generation are dead, then maybe there will be small progress"

Hmm. That's just what Hitler said.

  • stokes croft looks amazing with all the independants, not like the identikit soul vacume that my town is. are town council decided that instead of lowering extortionate rates for small buisness the savior of our town was a pound store. i cant wait till that generation are dead , then maybe there will be small progress

  • i find the best way to dissuade them from trading is to rob their shelves dry!

  • @TheivingGypsyScum, No wonder, the name gave it away - your sort of people makes this country shit.

  • @ShowPolitics do one you miserable prick, it was implied as a joke! if you want to start preaching about "my sort" of people, go ahead! but i'm studying medicine at university as from september, so your point is pretty void - i'm probably a lot more useful to society then you're ever going to be!

  • @TheivingGypsyScum I think it my be difficult to analyse your comment as a joke with a name "TheivingGypsyScum" and just out of interest what has studying medicine and university got to do with a Tesco in stokes croft, personally i think you should roll over and die becuase you can see how effective the protests were if you go to that exact spot today !

  • @TheivingGypsyScum ShowPolitics commented on Margaret Thatcher Tribute: "God Bless you maggie !"

    I rest my case.

  • @TheivingGypsyScum Lady Thatcher was one of the best PM's this country has ever had, I also rest my case.

  • @ShowPolitics That bitch thatcher is a hag ,the only good she did is blowing the other PM's in between the killing of brave Irish men

  • @MrRock1331 Maybe if you'd like to bring this subject up, you could private message me becasue I don't feel the need of discussing it on a video about a Tesco Express opening, thank you very much.

  • @MrMousket defeatism through experience perhaps - I distinctly remember spending many a weekend back in 1996 telling the people of Newbury that they shouldn't have a bypass (you see I used to be a self-appointed moral guardian but unlike you I have matured)! Anyway the last time I looked there was a repulsive 6 lanes of tarmac through the beautiful Berkshire countryside. You are a fighter - I respect that. Over and out.

  • @MrMousket (1)so you know nothing of the area of Bristol which you are defending - good(2) keep throwing roof tiles at police vans; that will help your cause no end & get all that impotent rage off your chest!(3) keep patronising people who like supermarkets you hate (4) pretend you never go to these very supermarkets whilst occasionally getting a perverse pleasure and feel of superiority by going to so-called independent shops! (5) continue your role as the self-appointed moral guardian!

  • @MrMousket Oh believe you me being idealistic after the age of 30 is either sad or sinister. Why else do you think most soldiers are so young? - if they weren't young they would see hanging around Afghanistan with a machine gun is a waste of their time, their lives and the lives of the so-called enemy they are supposed to fight & the daft notion of fighting for "God,Queen and country" backed up by a compliant embedded media sucking hard on all the lies of whoever is in goverment.

  • @MrMousket HOWEVER - with regards to the Stokes croft situation there is simply nothing there to be lost if Tescos open a store there. If it was somewhere like Sherringham in Norfolk who had loads of diversity to lose then I would completely understand (they successfully fought off the planing application last year).I am not apathetic - just realistic. When you pass the age of 30 you will realise that changing the world to how you like it to be is sad although ever so slightly admirable in intent.

  • @revol148 you have not responded with my critique of Stokes croft - hence we may agree that you have no idea what the Stokes croft area of Bristol is like then? (you ain1t missing much).Don't worry there are quite a few of you in youtube world who have been caught out here articulating their view based on part of a city they may have never been to!

  • @MrMousket The identikit element of the high streets is perhaps THE most sadest part of living in the UK.Quite why the chains seem to have almost complete stranglehold over the high street (including resturants, pubs and even nightclubs) in direct comparison with continental Europe is a matter of huge debate.I wonder whether the regional entreprenurial spirit has gone in the past decades with the vacum filled by multi-national chains with huge buying power and a Napoleonic expansionist agenda.

  • Speaking as both an ex-employee and a shopper, I've absolutely no love for Tesco. But these idiots are treating them like they are Esso or Shell. At least they don't rape the planet like the big oil companies do. Tesco are a family supermarket. So what if they're like shit in a field? Would u honestly go next door to 'Best 24 hour' asian market to pay £1.00 for a pint of milk? And beautiful is not how I'd describe Stokes Croft. Cultural Quarter? Brothel quarter more like.

  • REALLY!!!!!! did you needs show the bloke with the bag on he's head!!!!!!!!!

  • love what your doing, but the man with the Tesco glass on, REALLY!!!!!!!!

  • some facts about your favourite supermarket:

They offer services at a LOSS (free eye tests to ruin optician companies)

Generate 60billion £ in revenue yet avoid paying tax

They intend to saturate every area of our lives by 2025 and assimilate all british companies.

Once this is done (and there are no choices left) tesco will become a dictator - they already have more power and money than government.

Oh, and theyre investing heavily in RFID human implants:

    w w w . boycottesco . com

  • @SteveFusionX nice to know because ive been boycotting tesco for years now over them selling live turtles as food in their chinese outlets

  • @SteveFusionX avoid playing tax, DESPITE ANNOUNCING pre tax profts, THEN annoucing TAXED PROFITS !!!

Please reply when you have checked your facts...

  • @ShowPolitics

playing tax? Not sure if we are talking about the same thing here :)

Also there is more than one type of tax, just so you know.

  • @SteveFusionX playing tax, Tesco don't really play with money, they invest it !

    (blocks) :D

  • @MrMousket stop reading this and get back onto the streets and inform those lesser educated souls to remove the wool from their eyes and go to over-priced corner shops with marked up food, limited opening hours and bread which was baked about a week ago.Incidently where are the local businesses which are going to the wall? the last time I walked down Cheltenham road I did not see a fishmongers, bakery or greengrocer - just 2 off licences and some awful pubs with bored men drinking warm lager

  • @MrMousket agreed HOW DARE the common people of Bristol go to Tesco - still luckily self-righteous, self-appointed moral guardians such as yourself are on hand to show them the way out of their ignorance.Well done!

  • 0:48 eh? "beautiful Stokes croft"!? - well yeah if you want to buy some strong cider, visit one of the three brothels or by over-priced food at the shops on nearby Picton street.Still I suppose it all depends on how you define "beautiful".

  • its so crazy down the stokes croft but they had 2 call in the south wales police because the metropolitan police were busy at the jasmine allen estate

  • Fair play to people power.....but what we should all be out on the streets about is the Fukushima disaster thats poisoning the world, and the governments dont want you to know about. You cant shop in Tesco or do any thing when youve got cancer.

  • @MrMousket

    Junk food.....I mentioned apples!

  • @MrMousket If they stop normal people from having the choice to decide where they want to shop then yes.

  • @regvarney I thought the poor oppressed working classes were getting priced out of Tesco and heading off to Lidl and Aldi instead?Come on boy - you are the self-appointed leader of the common man I would expect you to know this?! "there are far too many people in the UK who believe the sun shines out of the backsides of the working classes" - Sir Bernard Ingham

  • @MrMousket Neither was I.Going by the news reports it was only"activists" involved(Middle class student twats).

  • @regvarney Oh my God - you are everywhere! I thought you were busy moaning about middle-class students on the London demos (whilst pretending you live in Australia)!

  • @revol148 I"m out to expose the middle class posers wherever they have their pathetic ,childish demos.

  • @regvarneyI first met you slagging off the "Jeremy Hardy verses the Israel" army video clip!

  • @MrMousket What are you on about? It"s all the right on middle class people who don"t want Tescos.as you well know ,all these protests are led by anarchist twats.

  • @MrMousket "Morons" are they?No need to slag people off just because they don"t share your middle class, anarchistic, social engineering view of the world.

  • @MrMousket Well if the people of Stokes Croft don"t want a Tescos as all the local middle class rebels make out I"m sure they"ll move soon enough. On the other hand of course the shop might be a success which I"m willing to bet is what the protestors are afraid of.

  • Surely the new Tescos will bring jobs right?

  • Holy Shit! Is that Timothy Leary? :47

  • "Shop local"! see a Polish restraunt... facepalm.jpg

  • are you LOCAL?

  • Looks like the only people who are arguing against Tescos in Stokes Croft are the arty middle classes who have colonised it in recent years and couldn"t give a toss about the old established community.

  • @regvarney Yes.

  • u lost

  • Stokes croft should be flattened, arse end if Bristol , the place stinks....

  • Fucking Hippies.

  • lots of banksy like art on that street.. let alone some of his own...wow

  • @007bondspy god your one dumb fuck you really have no idear do you, infact no sorry am being harsh its not your falt you have been dumbed down

  • This blokes a twat Tesco have sot a right to set up shop same as anyone,if you don't like it you don't have to go there."Local things for local people"(where have I heard that before?)Tesco'd be brilliant bring down the prices in those shops down there..Stokes Croft is beautiful? No!Its a shit hole.

  • @GavinS1965 The problem is that Tesco didn't have the permission of the PEOPLE to set up shop. Planning permission? Ever heard of that? How about democracy?

  • @mollythesard Well who else had "permission of the people"to set up shop there?I won't be trying to set up any business there you lot sound like a bunch of fucking idiots.

  • @mollythesard We tried running a business in Stokes Croft, namely the JUnction pub,we got forced out by the monied hippies.Don't bother replying to this I couldn't give a toss about you.

  • @007bondspy Very well it is your opinion, I not sure how we went from Tesco selling euro meats which is destroying our British farming industry to Enoch Powell, immigration, racism and the problem of multi-culture. Dont get me wrong there are some serious issues in regard to immigration but to love tesco just because you wish to avoid coloured people seems a pretty bad reason to love tesco lol.

  • Tesco sells food cheap. Whats wrong with that? Rather that then get small changed by a corner shop.....more Tesco's the better innit!

  • @downyclown It buys from Europe and thats undercutting British farms killing our local and national farming produce, killing our jobs in the long run and forcing local business to close down thats what is wrong with that. Its also buying product from farms that endorse slave labor or very poorly paid staff.

  • @fireicer

It also buys from America and Australia, which mean we get apples all year round. I love Tesco, its so cheap. Fuck local, go global!

  • @downyclown at least you love tesco for a valid reason lol. As for cheap i not to sure on that Sainsburys were doing and still do at times 3 1kg trays of mince for £10.00 tesco started the same but there packets were 750g each so when we say cheaper there not always. Sainsburys were real British beef as well. There was no statement anywhere on the tesco mince to indicate where it originated from. Overseas products use growth hormones and other chemicals that are illigal in the UK farming

  • @fireicer

Meh, dont care. I dont eat meat!

  • @downyclown besides my concern lies in that buying global as you say means it will and is killing UK farming. We cant control what goes into this global product. Second if tesco continue to capitalize like this every other competitor will be run of the market allowing tesco to choose there own prices for there product, out the window goes cheap. Houses are built with pathetic back yards so we cant even grow our own veg, we would be sole dependant on tesco and i dont see this as a good thing.

  • @fireicer

If you want a big back yard/garden get a better job. I use my parents garden as they have ample space for veg/friut etc!

  • @downyclown Its funny you should say that i am working so god darn hard to get that. Pushing myself to the extremes to achieve that goal is tough but hey you got to fight for what you want etc. There is no giving up. giving up is for the weak.

  • 0:47

Did that bad excuse of a tranny wearing nail varnish actually class stokes croft as 'beautiful'?

Lol mega times and over again!

  • @downyclown In my eyes, It is beautiful. To some, beautiful goes far beyond "blond and walks in high heels". Please, try not to be so ignorant

  • @TheatreFracture

It is full of smack heads and massage parlours. If that is your thing, fair enough. But don't call me fucking ignorant. Every time i walk threw that rat infested shit hole i get some form of trouble. I fucking hate the place. Yuk.

  • @downyclown I lived there for a year and never once got any hassel (except for the local perverts in the corner shop). I guess it just depends on matter of op!

  • @TheatreFracture

So you did get hassel then?

  • @downyclown yes, but less than i recive most places.

  • That place looks like a shit hole. I'm sick of liberals acting like this.

  • @samuelbarton

    Yes

  • I LOVE TESCO

  • @007bondspy

    Me too

  • @007bondspy Tesco is supporting the war in middle east, there buying illegal product, there capitalizing the food industry in the UK there killing British farming buy buying euro meat/product and destroying British produce. how can you love tesco?

  • @007bondspy i hope your being sarcastic?

  • Good on you! bitty all the supermarket sheep keep supporting Tesco. They are running this country now! but watch out Morrisons are getting bigger by the hour! local jobs just shows how thick British people are go behind the scene its all polish workers. Brown walking round a local Asda hello why not walk round local shops markets etc oh most towns centre are now closed! Clown Britain

  • Local thigns for local people sounds like something from a goddamn League of Gentlemen sketch. The people in the 24 hour shop are always mean to me.

  • people need 2 get a life no 1 cares about your veiws and its going to get built no matter wot tescos iz takin over!!!! deal wid it

  • @wrighty11000 Fuck off you sad twat, not everyone wants to live in a bland consumer nightmare

  • i go through stokes croft everyday And if a new tesco was to be built there It just wouldnt have the same vibe to it!!

  • @shamblesforever81

    Racist

  • Well done....every little hurts.

  • Full of crusties and people that dont wash. Do something good for the world and get a job.

  • I see what you're saying about independant traders. Because costs are so high a lot of independant traders charge more. Tesco charges less which is why they are popular. I remember a case in cardiff where a family owned all the local shops which were extortianate in price but tesco came along. I am NOT bigging up tesco- I am being rational.

  • Bascically I just thik that supermarkets like sainsbury's hold back information because they know that the type of customer that goes there is more likely to be pissed off. Whereas tesco is actually more free with their information cos they know the people who go there don't care. They're all bad and stopping tesco is not going to help humanity cos they'll just open a store somewhere where you can't see. What about ASDA? Fucking walmart.

  • oh and by the way- aren't supermarkets just part of this 'progress' thing that has happened throughout history. I'm sure farmers protested against grocery stores at some point (oh and wasn't Margaret Thatcher's dad a grocer? She pretended to be posh and she wasn't). Tesco should be fairer of course and sustainable, that is obviously the aim.

  • Comment removed

  • All supermarkets are bad- not just tesco. While you busy yourself stopping tesco, probably about 2 other stores open who are just as bad but all your energy goes on tesco. That statistic , like all statistics was biased to what I want to say. I sometimes wonder whether anti tesco is class war in disguise because it appeals to lower middle class people- the kind of class that leaves a bitter taste, y'know the daily mail type.

  • what we need are shops selling bongo drums and stuff to grow weed with.art galleries and drug dropin centers.we should never have modern stuff keep st pauls down.taken from chapter 3 verse 10 of the crusty bible ! you folk me sick

  • Allowing a small number of multinational corporations to control your food supply is a good thing right? That is what we have over here! Just remember that you are casting a vote every time you purchase something at one of these stores. Somebody is voting for another store in this location. Otherwise the corporation would not do it.

  • @EconoChallenge

Don't buy things from companies you don't like is the best way to hurt them. They don't really care about protestor's or such, they care about their bottom line.

Stopping them before they get planning permission is the best way to prevent them moving into an area. Once they get permission, they'll run their shop at a loss if they have to, just for the longterm prospects.

  • Think of the scanner at the checkout as a voting machine. Every thing that gets scanned is stored in a data base and used for business planning. So every time an item gets scanned you are voting for made in UK or made in China. Locally grown or imported and so on.

  • @EconoChallenge

I think we're in agreement here. The more people that are aware of this power they have, the more they realise their shopping choices change the world, the better.

Ugh, I feel disgustingly self righteous. I'm going for a Cup of Cynicism.

  • I will join you and we can talk about other changes we want to make in this world. LOL

  • Tesco a exactly like wallmart, cheap shite sold for profit rather than to feed the masses like shops should be doing "go up to your URL, put the a Q between the words you and tube and then press enter or click go"

  • I don't understand what Tesco is. I don't live in the UK. Are they like a giant corporation like WalMart who moves in and puts the mom and pop shops out of business?

  • i don't give a shit about tesco but i fucking hate protesters they are worthless pieces of shit that just wait for something different to come out so they can go there and waste their time by "protesting"

  • yeah fuck off tesco

  • No to Tesco!

  • No tesco even in Italy!!
