I love how the sister dynamic comes full circle. In the past, Roseanne stood up for Jackie when men treated her like crap. Now, Jackie is returning the favor shocked that a Dan after 25 years and four children would even consider cheating.
The last season was great. It left the audience with a deeper understanding of all the characters. Sure the fiction could annoy some, but the maternal instincts of Darlene, the reciprocity of Roseanne & Jackie's relationship. Such gr8 things were revealed.
My dumbass would have just confronted him like a psycho. It was genius how she was asking questions and rubbing the guilt in and catching him in his own lies.
alot of people hate on this season,cuz its kinda bizzare and because they win the lottery,but i like it and after everything theyve been through,they deserve it,i wish they really did win the lottery and it wasnt just something roseanne made up

jackie had every right to know what dan was doing and to make him confess that to roseanne, because she is her sister. it's just showing that she loves and cares about roseanne. i know if my sister's boyfriend was cheating on her i would have done the same damn thing. i understand that this is just a show, but in this situation jackie was completely right.

I can understand about her concern for their marriage, but why "grill" Dan because he had JUST a connection with his Mom's nurse. He didn't cheat on Roseanne. Well, remember that, this entire series is what Roseanne wrote. In the end, Roseanne mentioned that Dan's death from his heart attack felt like he left her for another woman. So she wrote that he left her for another woman. Writers always write what they feel. So, the storyline says he left her, but in reality (or the reality within the show) he died from a heart attack. Look at it from this PoV; it's like Dan said, things are diffrent out in California vs a place like Landford. He did marry young and gave up on the chance to date diffrent people. OR he could have fallen for his mother's nurse simply because she was female or there for him while he was having his mother treated.
Season 9 was random and sometimes pointless (Rosambo especially) but I understand the metaphors within all the episodes; when Roseanne gave a reason for certain things throughout the seasons. Like Dan cheating on her was supposed to symbolize how betrayed she felt inside when he died. Or how she made Bev come out of the closet to give her a sense of her own self instead of living life according to a more dominant figure.

Right after his heart attack he says he's never cheated and first thing he does after is cheat. The writing in this season is really bad. They should have ended it in the 8th season.
They were going to end the series at Season 8, but they renewed it for another season, and any series where they renew it almost always keeps going regardless if the writers/producers/actors want it to. And also, the last episode of Season 9 pretty much makes up for all the craziness of it. Dan died from his heart attack and never cheated, Jackie was actually gay, Darlene married Mark and David married Becky, etc.
He was still alive when he said that. Shortly after he died. Roseanne wrote in her book that he cheated on her because it was easier for her to imagine him cheating then dying, a coping mechanism. What we're watching in the 9th season, for the most part, is how Roseanne wrote things in her book after Dan died.

In all fairness jackie didn't know fred as nearly long as roseanne and dan had been together.. Even before she was married to him she never got really close to fred.. Dan and roseanne are a different case.. Roseanne has not only been there for dan through the financial tough times but sat by dan's side when he nearly died.. I think dan's betrayal couldn't compare to what jackie did ..

yeah, but you learn from the very last episode that Dan didnt really cheat on Roseanne because he actually died from the heart attack. It was really a copeing mechanism that Rosie used to help her get over his passing away that she made up basically everything after his heart attack. I have a real hard time with this episode and especially with the very last one.

i cannot understand how after all of the shit that they've been through, dan can cheat on roseanne. I mean... they're one of those couples that you always thought would make it.
