Nuka says "he just took him in" meaning kovu was born before scar died, but kiara wasn’t born then. this means there would have had to be another male around pride rock around the time that scar was king. I think they wanted to give the impression that Nuka was scars son but there not clear on that.

Zira , the 3 cubs and other lions i think were exiled along with the hyenas, if i remember simba saying “i banished you” so I’m guessing some lions were scar followers.

@MrArturoui when he says "you and your young cub" he is refuring to kovu and zira, If he banished kovu, he must have been around at that point but very young. so, kovu was around when scar was alive, some time while scar was king he decided kovu would be his heir, when he died zira and the few scar followers must have been banished. kovu would have to be very young around this time. like days, weeks or months old.

@evilyakko yeah that's what i mean. He's only just banishing Kovu right there and is changing his statement to "now you and kovu, not just you" because he doesn't appear to recognise him. as in he wasn't there before. Either that or Simba never saw Kovu. Just banished a bunch of them and never actually saw him, and is only now seeing him as a threat on recognising his existance. It's all very thin on disney's part I think. haha.

Okay so Heres the "Family Tree" If you will...

Zira and Scar were mates well then Nuka and Vitani were born, (so their brother sister) My theory on Kovu is that, Zira had Kovu "without scar knowing" and then Scar decided to let Kovu be the next King. So Vitani and Nuka are (half-brother, half-sister) to Kovu, because Scar isn't the father. Even though Kovu's eyes are the same color as Scars. Now my question to all you guys is when did all this happen! Between the 1 & 2 that we didnt see??

Unknowingly,Tama went to birth her cub and zira klled her, but only then saw newborn Vitani, so she adopted her. Noone knows about Kovu, except Zira was his mum, but scar wasnt his father. In Tlk2 Nuka says: "Why's Kovu the chosen one? I mean, Scar wasnt even his father.." And his mother silenced him.
