Hey man, I have NEVER been so impressed by a complete and thorough tutorial on reading music. You have the ONLY real helpful video on the ENTIRE INTERNET. You are GREAT, and I am going to let all of my friends know about your video. You should really have 2,000,000 hits. Thanks so much for helping me out, I am glued to ALL of your videos :-))
thanks lad, i been going through all of you videos and i have a better understanding now, i think you would make a great music teacher, wait are you a music teacher already? well once again thank you, you rock.
So the cycle of notes goes from A-G, 7 notes (8 notes to get to the next A), each cycle called an octave. The cycle goes from C-G in the music world, but why not to an H or an I?
On a serious note, my question is why do some music sheets have the time (for example, 4/4) and in others a "C"? Is there a difference?
A "C" is for "common time". Which is 4/4. So, any time you see a "C", the funny looking one, it's just 4/4. I don't know why anyone hasn't replied to this comment yet. I hope that helped. :]
C4 is the middle key on his keyboard because it is the middle number. His keyboard has "8 Letter C's" on it. What is the Middle number of 8? It's 4 that is why Middle C is 4.
My keyboard is tiny and only has "6 Letter C's" on it. What is the middle number of 6? It's 3. So for me Middle C is 3 because my keyboard is smaller.
Depending on your Keyboard depends on the number of Middle C. Middle C is the middle number of C Notes you have on your keyboard.
I think its a great video, I recommended to someone, however I thought it can be quite dense for a total beginner, especially if they're really young. But good work anyway, I can see the amount of effort you've put into this.
Thanks for all your help i learned almost every thing in piano from you.except in example 4A there is this symbol with 2 heads can you please explane that to me what is it. and some time both head is on the same line what do i do.
If you have 88 keys on your keyboard then you will have 88 possible notes for treble and 88 possible notes for the bass..but for most songs you only have to learn about 7 or 8 lines above and below both staffs :)
it depends really on whats more comfortable for you when your playing a song piece..but its usually regarded that you play the bass with your left hand and the treble with your right hand (^_^)
Oh, okay haha I was having troubles with my alphabet remembering skills :P So I wrote the lines down on some paper like this. ----F-- E ----D-- C ----B-- A ----G-- F ----E-- And then the ACEg one for the bass :P thanks :)
thnks 4 ur vids i think i will be able to read sheet music soon^^ i can play the piano learn some songs online but i can't read sheet music i don't hv a keyboard but i do hv a piano though so how much is an 88 keys keyboard? oh i frgt to mention i'm from singapore and thnks for ur vids i'm only 14 n my mom doesn't hv the money to send me to piano lessons so i'm learning a lot from these vids^^ thanks^^
actually no treble can be for both right and left depending and bass can be for both right and left depending on the song and such, treble is anything above middle c n bass anything below middle c hope this helps^^
Think camera zooms in/out because hands move all the time :) some object front of camera.. So camera tries to get clear shot as possible.. Zooming there and there ^^
i think u get used to it.. its like reading a thing wroten:"clap clap, shout, clap" you know what to do, once u learn to read music perfectly u will know how to read it fine and do what it says =)
