sometimes the traits you inherit from one parents aren't always visible via facial features. sometimes you can tell in other areas. she is small and very slim so that may be what she got from her mother. And she does speak english as well, just this interview may have been for a japanese audience.

@Kelly101Girl she's not half japanese, she's half okinawan which is a very different culture and ethncitiy, even though it is part of Japan. I'm just like Olivia, in fact. I'm half Okinawan and half American/white too!

I can see how it is hard for her to say certain words, and by certains words I mean the "converted" ones. I speak English very well as well, and I therefore find it hard to say English words in japanese, so I have understanding for it all. For example, rock becomes "rocku", and Olivia becomes "Oribia" :3 It doesn't come natural for someone who's so used to proper English.

no, no dude... it's just a cultural thing. They pretend they doubt, they pretend they hesitate, they pretend they're modest, they just PRETEND, PRETEND AND PRETEND... argfff, I should have never started studying their language, because I don't really like their culture :___(

Her family moved to San Diego, California when she was about two years old, and lived there until she was six. After spending another seven years in Okinawa they moved to North Carolina for two years, before returning to Okinawa, where they lived until Olivia's debut.
