  • Nice stuff! I can see that you worked hard and took care in what you were doing.

  • contact me at rcarthridge@yahoo.com about your rails

  • do you have a website?

  • how do I get ahold of you to purchase one?

  • never saw one move they must be slow as shit

  • what is with this flower pickin music?

  • are you located in oregon?

  • That thing couldn't handle me behind the wheel! one trip to the dunes, and I few stupid decisions later, it would be a tangled mess!

  • @portertay i bet your black and wouldnt even know how to start the fuckin thing.. so no need to worry

  • @cotequadsport

White, and I grew up on the dunes!

  • @cotequadsport Grow up. Get a mind. Come back when you are healthy.

  • Those are the sand rails threw desert karts right ive tried to get a hold of the guy who sells the planes but no answer. yours are kool i want to build one like the green ones

  • this is in wyoming huh

  • Do you sell plans?

  • sick music dude

  • that thing is automatic?

automatic is gay as gay can be, your gonna make something try to atleast make it worth driving

  • are those all fan cooled? if they're not, how did you do the water cooling systems?

  • slideshows are worthless. lets see one running

  • can I get one with a 400hp turbo apex motor in it?

  • BEASTLY!!!

  • how much did it cost you to build this? i plan to build my own for a school project and would like to know the ball park for price

  • hey man can u help me here i am planing on building a gocart(obviusly smaller then these) but i was wondering soulh the front tires be father apart then the rear tires or vise versa?

  • @smallenginemods The rear tires are usually farther apart than the front or exactly the same. It really doesnt matter cause ive built both and they work pretty much the same. Its what your're confertable with.

  • How do you keep the snowmobile engine cool in warm weather?

  • @hineshonduras you use a radiator and a fan...

  • ok I realy need to swing by and shoot thebreeze again plus i really wanna make one of these a two seater pretty much a highbrid side by side except faster and better alan style!!!! haha

  • yes

  • are they liquid cooled?

  • they sell for $5000 turn key ready to run...let me know

  • @jaxworks is it possible to make a auto killswitch for engine if it flips over... thinking about it in mah gokart

  • @jaxworks im just reading your comment response but does the whole rail sell for $5k?

  • hey man ill pay u the money to build another one of those

  • are any of these air cooled??

  • could i build one without a radiator? or would it overheat? the engine i have on an old snow mobile does not have a radiator and is not set up for one.

  • @mcskatin ...it does not matter if the engine is air or liquid cooled...as long as you use a snowmobile engine AND transmission and have the correct gear ratio, they will tow a Banshee faster than they can run.

  • i would fork out plenty of dough to get my hands on this thing

  • NICE

  • How much did it cost to build minus the engine?

  • thats sweet now all that is left is to get an r1 engine in that

  • @zeekdavis21 ...an R1 will not be as fast as a 700 cc snowmobile engine...it has been done and they never work as well.

  • Are the plans from desert karts dot com are clear and "followable" ? Can you buy all the pieces needed on the website? Thank you

  • cool very intricate

  • those are awesome my man!

  • me...plans at desert karts dot com

  • @jaxworks ok thanks bro nice rail looks wicked

  • who make those sand rails what company

  • @richardarichter123 ...I make them using the Panther plans from Desert Karts dot com

  • @jaxworks thanks alot guy

  • i want the plans of making this please.

  • @matthewmarrs123

go to deseart karts dot com

  • @jaxworks alright but it didn't pull anything up.

  • please post vdeo of them running!!!!!!

  • 120 HP IN THAT light thing it must fly

  • one of the green ones (of theres 2) (at like 0:40) has its rear tires on backwards. but other than that therse are sweet

  • @BMX4827 ....look like they are on backwards but if you are running in sand...they are on correctly

  • How much for the yellow one...

  • well lets see them move!!!!!!!!

  • watch?v=KtSSTgbVnus Check out my monster odyssey

  • i want the purple one =3

  • Those frame tubes look really thin. Is it still in one piece ?

  • @jfb17042 yes...I use DOM and it is tough stuff

  • @jaxworks wat is DOM?

  • i want the yellow one what are the plans for it.

  • thats one mean lookin sumbitch

  • Oh, i see. Thanks

  • sorry i typed that wrong

  • how much are you get for that

  • Very nice functionally, but the frame could stand to be more artistic.

  • dude sweet!!! you should put some bigger tires in it and some side panels!!!

  • Nice rail buggy's.

What is the name of the song?

  • its that song from true romance

  • Why is this sort of buggy known as a "rail"?. What makes a buggy a rail?

  • a rail has a frame built from scratch with a few salvaged parts here and there, a buggy is based off of a production chassis, ie vw bug

  • @Del360T

There are rails that make up the buggy

  • do u make them then sell them or just make them s a hobbie cus they pritty sick wold not mind having one

  • nice slideshow minus the music

  • how much for the yellow one

  • at 0:11 = masterpiece.. perfect

  • personally i dont like how the brakes rely on 2 chains not snapping

  • were do you get the plans for that build ??

  • I want one !

  • are they custom frames?

  • probably,,,depends on the engine, on the hight of the driver (althought this one seems to have a lot of clearance) , and on the driveterain (this one has some beatiful work done)

  • wher ca you buy the rear independant axel for rear suspension

  • you can actually make them out of atv drive axles, my dad used to make them

  • cool

  • where did you get the frames and how much

  • any way you could send some drawings my way?

how much travel at you looking at?

  • i bought a sandrail close to what you have and I need to add an axle and extra set of sprockets to change my gearing. But I don't know what kind of shaft I have. I don't need the cv joints, or cv shafts. I need the "center spool". A shaft with a groove for a sprocket and woodruf key. If you know of anything that would work, or even if you could give me a direction it would be much appreciated. Thanks...

  • and i thought trophy karts were cool. nice job what is the music?

  • Hans Zimmer, the Beach Song

  • thease are cool we put a r1 street bike motor in a saind rail and its fast as hell

  • verrrrryyyyyy coooooolllll!!!!!!

  • a radiator..it is liquid cooled

  • nice video great pic on the song nice sand rail

  • What is the name of that cool song ? I remember it from an old movie with Martin Sheen where he kills people in Montana.

  • How fast is it?

I am sorta planning to build a go-kart with a Yamaha V-Max 700CC triple liquid cooled engine.

  • very very nice except for the exhaust close to the gas tank and the fan close to your head... very safe all that but still probs for doing it looks well made and fun to drive

  • nice job

  • what song was that?

i want to burn it on a cd asap!!!!!

    best song ever

i just hate how lazer 99.3 plays it too much

  • yeah my friend is building one and hes got this massive snowmobile engine. its a little excessive, but damn will it move

  • Pretty cool. How about a Busa motor in one?

  • Nice work by the way I wish you still made them

  • Hey I got a rotax 583 I bet that would move it pretty good. But how well does the motor run in the summer??

  • they run fine all year if you jet them correctly..no different than a dirtbike

  • name music plz!!!!!!!!

  • Hans Zimmer--Beach Song

  • nice work!!! What's the name of the song?

  • Hans Zimmer--Beach Song

  • we made one with a 500 v-max engine last year

  • Where would I get one of these with out a motor. Would like a 2 seater.

  • call short sand cars...they offer a chasis w/o the engine...I don't build these anymore because of liability...they are too fast for kids.

  • I have a 3/4 finished 2 seater for sale

  • kickass music

  • Fox nitrogen shocks would be nice for my buggy but the one I'm building is for my son, do you recommend any other type of shock ? would shocks from a dirt bike work ? In case I go crazy and buy the air shocks what lengths and diameters do you recommend? I see that some of the buggies use the gear reduction out of a snowmobile, did you pull these motors straight out of a sled ? or do you have a source ? your buggies look very nice and your pictures have answered a lot of my questions.

  • what shocks have you found work best for these buggies ? I have a rotax 377 how would that perform in a buggy like yours ?

  • Wow nice, Im working on a custom buggy at the moment that runs off a ninja 900cc engine. The buggy isnt really designed for jumping tho. I bought it off some one and it was designed rather poorly. but it will be fast on the drag strip.

  • what kind of engine are you using? i mean.. how many cc's how many cylinders and who makes them? i saw a few tripples and a couple twins.. how many cc's are you running?

  • Rotax twins 700cc 140hp, rails weigh only 600 pounds. They will tow a banshee faster than they will run.

  • standard VW bug

  • Nice looking buggies. They all appear a little different to each other (individuality?) They also appear to have a very long wheelbase (but not too long). They must handle pretty well.

  • nice music
