  • This is so awesome.

  • this is badass bro!!

  • hehehe

  • Now do the wall!

  • 3:33 <3

  • @rossoshinsky WTF?... If you were a real fan... you would apreciate this piece has something amazing

  • This is really cool. What a great homage to the original Dark Side of the Moon.

  • PLEASE REMAKE THE WALL.

    I BEG OF YOU.

  • DUDE THIS IS SO FUCKING AWESOME

  • There is no Princess Peach really,

Matter of fact, she's in another castle.

I FUCKING LOVE THIS SO MUCH ♥♥♥♥

  • You are brillliant man. You are able to observe every single detail of the song and put in there

  • Dude....this just made my day!

  • am i the only one who thinks the prism looks like nyancat?

  • 2:12 is the most amazing part of the this video.

  • @jammmon Good ear for spotting the same chords. Neither Paul McCartney nor the Beach Boys invented them, though. Besides, I'm the guy who "ripped off" an entire album; why are you complaining to me?

  • @jammmon

listen to Neil Young's "Down By the River" It's the same as "Breathe"

  • @jammmon musicians take ideas from other songs all the time, but even so who really cares as long as it sounds awesome (and in pink floyd's case trippy aswell). just enjoy the music and stop making comparisons

  • @jammmon How do I know that The Beach Boys, one of the worst bands from The 70s, didn't rip off Floyd?

  • @PS3rocks7513 no man, from the 70s yeah, but not sixties. And even then, Pet Sounds (1966) beats everything from da 70s xD

  • @PS3rocks7513 i wish the beach boys went psychadelic. it would have been dope

  • @magua4 Check out "Smile" which I think was their unfinished last album... trippy as fuck

  • @jammmon you tryin to say that pink floyd, one of the most creative and brilliant bands ever to exist ripped off the greatest ablum in the world from the beach boys and paul mccartney? their music isnt even on the same level as dsotm. so they use the same chords big deal its briliant music

  • @jammmon you cant copyright chord progressions, in theory since there are only so many notes there are also only so many chords so eventually they are going to get used again, and in jazz music its cool to play other peoples stuff I bet if paul or the beach boys realized that as you say "pink floyd ripped off their stuff" they wouldnt look at it that way at all only lowly youtuber fan boy would

  • @jammmon The Beatles used to dress up in costume and go to Pink Floyd shows...

  • dooooodee this is SICK

  • DUDE!!! You should do it in Mario Paint now. ;~D

  • a wild roger waters appears

  • I was really out of World 1-1 at the time!

  • is this original or not?because if it is this album sucks

  • and everything in the level is in tune

but the princess is in another castle.

There is no other castle really.

Matter of fact they're all the same.

  • familly game / nes :D

  • Must. Have. This. On. Ipod.

  • You should upload this in 1080p, just to fuck with us.

  • There is no bowser side of the mushroom kingdom really.

Matter of fact, it's all a mushroom.

  • I love it, great work!!!! XD <3

  • If you are bored (or just high), please check out my cover version of this song; I tried to give the video a psychedelic twist. I hope my alien friends in outer space will enjoy it.

  • haha tight

  • this sounds like the music from old cheap video games lol, overrated album

  • @MyDreamside your joking right?? please tell me you know this isnt really pink floyd

  • @ndgambella what????????????????????i heard from your channel the whole album

  • @MyDreamside you're pretty dumb

  • @Thriftshoplifters I stink he's trollin'

  • 1:20 is my favorite part in the real song and I loved it here too, pure gold :)

  • There's no another castle, really. Matter of fact, they're all another.

  • +10,000 bro points for you sir.

  • OMG! this is so cool! going to my ipod now

  • This whole 8-bit remix is nothing short of amazing. So tuning in to this the next time I trip.

  • World 1 completed

  • Very well aranged! This is truly a work of art!

  • If you felt extremely well listening to Brain Damage, give one up!

  • too cool!!!!!

  • Love the climactic moment at 4:48!

  • Dude, if you ever were able to make actual NES Cartridges with your music, I would TOTALLY buy it.

  • Fire throwing Mario sound at 2:08 is BEYOND EPIC!

  • @phillpa Heh, the intent was muted guitar scratches, but a fireball will do.

  • lol !

  • It's funny how even in 8 bit this is still better than most modern music. Do shine on you crazy diamond next.

  • Is this emulating any particular chipset? It sounds a bit like a Commodore crossed with an NES.

  • @fearhasaglare Yes, it was made with an NES sound emulator via Famitracker. Maybe you get a Commodore vibe from the use of arpeggios, which was a lot more common in European games (esp. C64) at the time, but it was well within the capabilities of the NES. There is a FAQ on the website, if you check the video description.

  • @Sakanakao That's it exactly. The sine and triangle channels are unmistakable as NES. Also the counterpoint present in the original piece really comes out with the 8-bit version, I never noticed it that much before. Great job.

  • Sure you can make voices with 8 bits... The problem is that we are working with a few channels that can only output a single sine wave or triangle wave at a time. We could use the PCM channel like some NES games e.g., Blades of Steel.

  • @fearhasaglare Someone sent me a version with synthesized voices dubbed in. If you're interested, there's a link posted on the website. (See video description.)

  • @fearhasaglare ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!

  • My biggest pet peave is when people say you have to be high to enjoy pink floyd. but i can't help but imagine a stoned mario.

  • "There is no dark side of the moon really, as a matter of fact, it's all dark" -Pink Floyd, various astronomers

  • I came.

  • However I hate covering Pink Floyd (very conservative in this kind), I must admit this one is quite good.

  • It's like my ears and my computer are having sex!

  • nice Mario Guilmour Bros.

  • This is the geekiest, coolest, sexiest thing ever.

  • I love how the guy says at the end: "There is no dark side of the moon. As a matter of fact, it is all dark"

  • @smg125 wait what are you talking about?

  • @BrechPro In the original song, there is a man saying "there is no dark side of the moon really. Asl a matter of fact it is all dar" I love that quote... it completes the album for me. It's not in this :/

  • @smg125 I dont think you can make voices with 8-bit.

  • any color you like is the only accurate sounding one

  • Any Colour You Like; so long as it's available as part of a 48 colour palette.

  • i feel you are not aloud to dislike this

  • You raise the blade, you make the change, you rearrange me 'till I'm sane.

Really good job on the album, listened to the whole thing A-Z, and started at my screen in hypnosis. Thank you for making this.

  • awesome this sounds cool

  • Next do 16 bit!

  • thats awesome! im not a tech guy....dumb questoin! how is that done? keyboard? computer of course

  • Holy fucking shit.

    HAVE MY BABIES.

  • lol at vuvuzelas with this

  • @shusbock lol

  • There is no chiptunes side of the moon.

Matter of fact, it's all chiptunes.

  • Cool!

  • there is no dark side in moon really ; as a matter of fact it's all dark

    it's awesome

  • hehe creative and ridiculous. nice job.

  • Awesome!

  • This was so effing awesome. :)

  • epic

  • lmao this is deadly

  • This is what Mario heard during all those games you played on the NES... All those damned shrooms, man. They mess with your head... dude....

  • Brain Damage... it's just as chilling as the original. Amazing job.

  • this is ridiculous! Ahh! Insanely good!!

  • Pink Floyd and video games are two of my favorite things, thank you for this!

  • this is the part where mario grow up(gets high)... xD...

  • hell yeah... boss battle right here

  • @kitchendetail

Any Colour You Like must be the last level before the final boss, amirite?

  • OMG

    you are fucking awesome

  • @VioletDecapod its the best track

  • Sakanakao, you are a LUNATIC, my friend.

I love all of these videos. :)

  • I was so entranced by this whole thing, it took me until 9:30 to realize this was not the original Dark Side of the Moon. The whole time, I was thinking: "THIS is what they mean when they say you hear something new every time you hear this album. It sounds very electronic this time around."

  • this is perhaps the greatest thing i've ever seen.

  • Simplemente GENIAL

  • wow. this is incredible thank you so much for your effort!

  • freaking. awesome. thank you so much for taking the time and effort to do this, as a huuuuge pink floyd fan this has really made my day.

  • Totally awesome.

  • No Comfortably Numb? ;( Oh well, exelent work regardless! {v}_{@w@}_{v}

  • awesome xD

  • I think I'm tripping balls

  • This made my day.

  • shine on you crazy diamond both parts and echoes!

  • I think they stole this from Megaman 2; Crashman

  • Wow....Just... Wow... This brought together the two things I love the most, Pink Floyd and NES

  • This is totally what would play over the end credits.

  • The new YouTube layout fails, how do I share videos now? I can only email, facebook, etc.

  • I would KILL to hear Animals in 8-bits.

  • Fun stuff... I can imagine a retro 8-Bit video game using these as the soundtrack. Now I'm waiting for "The Wall" and I'd like to hear "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" too!

  • Wow! Awesome job :)

  • Just awesome!

  • This sounds amazing man. Just an outstanding job, I'm freaking blown away.

My favorite band and Nintendo... Wow!

  • ACYL sounds so much better in this version

  • If you are going to have an obsession, might as well go all out. This is pretty damn amazing. After listening to the whole album, all I can say is, the lunatic is in your head. Cheers.

  • Thought I had something more to say.

Completely mindblowing to hear the legendary Dark Side Of The Moon in 8-Bit, you did a fantastic job Sakanakao, Roger, Nick, Rick (God rest his soul) & David would be proud of this dedication.

  • Total dedication to one's art. Respect

  • beautiful

  • This is epic beyond words, haha. Any Colour You Like is easily my favorite song on the entire album, and it just translates beautifully to this style.

  • that was awesome

  • Amazing !!! wow great job!

  • Beautiful

  • sounds like it belongs in sonic the hedgehog

  • the lunatic is on the grass

  • @jaywastaken2 are you a troll or a flame? of course everyone here loves rock and loves Pink Floyd, but this nerd arrangment is something sublime, and it's not so easy to do it!

  • @jaywastaken2 First of all, it does take skill to match up the sounds to match as closely as possible to what the real sounds are. Ever heard of Mario Paint? If not, go find it and and try make a simple lullaby in it and see how long it takes you.

The creator of this probably spent many hours perfecting every song, matching up as closely as possible and editing and fixing it up. I doubt he'd take kindly to you saying it takes no skill to do this.

    Go troll somewhere else.

  • goes great with some california chronic!! trust me.

  • Très bon travail ! ! ! bravo ! ! !

  • pretty cool ma just need a joint

  • This rocks my socks off.

  • I heard about getting high and listening to DSOTM in the dark - here you simply get the high score.
