Someone Tried to make a Probe in space that looked like the Extra final Sega CD Boss but ended up being a horrible model of a weird raccoon that tried to kill Puggsy
@sweetannabee Simple. There are switches on the floor. Each switch opens the doors on the opposite side. Then just follow the ball that keeps appearing and make it land on the boss' head.
It has probably some of the best looking bosses in retro gaming history yet the developers thought that since some parts of the game are hard they would make them piss easy except the last one to beat.
That Boss @8:15 is one of the weirdest I've seen in a 16bit 2D platform game. So basically it’s a pre-rendered 3D animated back-ground made to look and act as if it was a foreground sprite. Interesting technique indeed, too bad that you don't actually fight it.
@alxxz I agree, the 8th boss looks silly and ridiculous funny. Personally they should of not bothered with the 3D cutscenes, they should have kept to the 2D ones on the Genesis version, plus the music as well. Would be nice if there was a complete version hack or something like that where you have all the music and cutscenes from the Genesis version but have all the Sega CD extras as well.
Interestingly, Nova Storm on the SEGA CD, PSX, PC- CD-ROM & 3DO, FM-Towns was made in a similar manner. The only 2D animated sprites was the player’s ship & bullets, while everything else was a continuous pre-rendered 3D FMV. I think it was part of the hype at the time 1994 making games like that, due to the transition from 2D to 3D which was quite new in video games and real-time 3D CGI was not possible yet due to lack of CPU power.
The fact that every boss in this version of the game, after seeing the Genesis version, has the same boss theme disappoints me, personally. In the original Genesis version, each boss had their own theme that seemed to fit well with them, some variety. In this one, they all share the same one. It is like Mr. Nutz from SNES to Genesis. I thought that the fourth (third in the original) boss's theme was much more fitting for it than the one here, for example.

I thought that boss at the beginning would be more of a threat, just look at that serious face.

Looks like captain squawk went down faster than a person falling off the plank, lol! That was a boss kill almost under 15 seconds!

There was no need for the 3d on the 8th boss.

The eighth boss looks like the ripped off head of Tails Doll with jet boosters strapped to it.

The 8th boss looks so out of place in this game.
It just looks weird.

8th Boss had possibly the most classic death ever: drowning.

awww, this version doesn't have the epic music with the badger fight :(

that 8th boss looks realy chalenging, how did you even kill it?

@BurninBluber Just avoid its attacks, it eventually sinks into the rising water and dies.

Is the rest of the game this easy?
demomanchaos 1 year ago
@demomanchaos There are a few tricky puzzles, but most of the game is rather easy, it's just that the bosses are the least challenging part of all.

I laughed so hard at the shitty 3D animation

@WindFanzerD Yeah. But to me it's worth it just to hear this kickass boss theme over and over.

Huh, didn't know there was a SCD version.
Also, that eigth boss was kind of interesting, what with its use of full-motion video.
Spikeman750 1 year ago
Gotta love how the 8th boss is pretty much just a video file.
