Occasionally XP Antivirus blocks access to mainstream Anti-Malware software. If this happens, a free program called Mal-Aware will remove the worst part of the infection and then allows you to run other Anti-Malware software to remove the entire infection. Check it out at Mal-Aware. com
I need some help "srajure" because the Malwarebytes Antimalware finds the viruses but when it's removing them the programme always freezes. Why is that? Is the virus trying to stop the programme from removing it? Any help?
- To add on, I found the Antivirus 2008 thing in my registry editor but I am unable to delete it or to deny it permissions over the computer's files. The CCleaner picks it up however and it says it has cleaned it. I'm running it over again, to double check.
ccleaner won't necessary remove the entries in the registry. Try to boot in safe mode, disable/ turn off the antivirus program, and then edit the registry
Thanks for this guide man. I got this virus indirectly the other day and I've been looking around, trying to clean it out. I've done just about everything I've ready on this topic, gone into the registry, used CCleaner too. It's pretty aggressive and persistent. I still see it's little tooltip thing in the bottom right of my screen, so I'm not sure what to do next.
I got this virus on my other laptop, for a while my laptop wouldn't even load. I tried downloading the software to remove Antivirus XP but it blocks the site and reroutes me elsewhere! Any idea how to combat that? I think this virus progressively gets worse, in the begining it didn't do that, shouldn't have ignored it :s
ne way, I had this virus like 5 mins ago but I used malwarebytes' anti-malware (trial version = free) and it worked like a charm. wen u install, make sure to check the update box. run the quick scan and let it catch those viruses then just hit the remove button. after you remove the viruses, a log is created based on the results of removal. Restart ur comp 2 c if the chances worked and run the scan again if uwanna. THANK UWALWAREBYTES!!!1
I think I got to it too late I can't even start my computer right now...damn I'm really fucked this is like the worst date ever for me...(typing from second comp)
Guys ccleaner is somethin which can do the job for u..... i have used ccleaner before and it is not some kinda ad. for ccleaner. Just follow the instructions given on this video and it works out fine. just try changing the wallpaper a few times if the image on ur desktop does not go away. It works just fine. If any questions post here.
mmm my system config wont open my regedit wont open... and!!! im totally giving up fuck it ima just re install windows :D
takes 60 minutes or less neways lol
its that dam keygen from vegas 7.0 or w/e lol happend to the comp in living room too my bro is a dum ass. lol im never dling that again grr now ima have to dl limewire itunes n all that shit again mm owell lol
expand the middle column in the startup list so that you can read the entire path. Then read all the entries and uncheck anything that you can not recognize, press apply, press close and restart the computer.
8) Select a date that is earlier to having power antivirus 2009. The computer will start restoring and getting rid of all virus installed on your pc. Well done and celebrate.
if you can't use system restore, then use the manual removal method. If you think it troublesome, and if you have the windows restore disk with you, you can try to reinstall windows, that will sure to eliminate all the viruses. But backup all the important data and the collect the installation disks of other programs because you will have to install them after windows installation, as it wipes out the C disk / partition during reinstallation
you can use the system restore and go back to a previous restore point. Or you can use a free tool called "remove restrictions tool" from Sergiwa(dot)com
And CCleaner is absolutely a Free program, it does not have a commercial version
I need help AH the virus is making my computer to restart automatically is there a way to fix this? like right when it hits the desktop about 1-2 minutes it will restart automatically can anyone help me? T_T
Are you sure it restarted, because on my laptop it showed some restarting error screen... Until I pressed enter and found out it was a screen saver created by antivirus xp 2008
I called myself trying to remove it by going into add/remove programs in control panel. I removed everything that started with "XP" installed on or after the date I started having these problems. Because I thought it was a problem with windows, and the XP antivirus was installed as an automatic update. Now, all of a sudden, my card for LAN/DSL isn't working. I am only able to use DIAL UP!!! DOes anyone know how to fix this?
1) Use system restore tool in accessories > system tools to get back to the settings prior to the date of when this happened
2) Use the LAN/DSL drivers cd (if there is one) or just do the LAN/DSL settings again. Your internet service provider should give you detailed instructions for it , either by phone calling their customer care, or the instrucitons could be found their website.
i've done alot of those 'removal' methods, but i still have it on my computer (as i type this). my taskbar at the bottom is gone, the computer gets slower and slower as well. occaisonally i will get a fake blue screen, and when i'm using the web browser it redirects me to a page that tells me i have insecure internet activities. i'm going to take it in to a computer place (who previously restored my computer,(not from this), )and see what they can do. good video, but i'm still infected :(
type: remove xp antivirus protection on google and go to the first site you see that can help you remove it entirely whatever you do, DONT PAY THEM its only supporting their purpose, theyre a bunch of scumbags i dont know if this is on the site but if they altered your screensaver and wallpaper heres how to make it fixable: start-run(type regedit) and go... HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Windows Current Version System dont touch the Default one double click the others and change 0 to 1
if it blocks Malwarebytes from running you can change the (dot) exe to (dot) bat and it will run.
thats what I had to do.

when i click on run it open but when i search it it never pops up :*(
xXJhojanlFkinlRoXx 3 years ago
perhaps your search has been disabled. Try to open the folders manually and look for the folders to delete.
Alternately you can download a small free program called "Remove Restrictions Tool" from sergiwa(dot)com
That will help you to enable the search function

there are two ways to recover from it
