  • Such a beautiful and inspiring documentary. I can honestly say that my opinion of wolves has changed for the better after watching this film. I have a better understanding of their behaviors, social structure and delicate family system. Films like this would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of individuals like Jim and Jamie. I can only imagine the solemn pride they both must feel for reintroducing this majestic animal to us. Thank you Jim and Jamie for your amazing efforts!

  • I howled with the wolf at the end :D

  • Jim & Jamie Dutcher if you are reading this comment I wanna say thank you for showing this amazing documentary. It was inspiring & makes appreciate & love wolves even more. May the Wolves be at peace in Heaven

  • I always cry at the end to know the pack is gone.(but never forgotten) & I howl with the last wolf at the end. R.I.P. Sawtooth Pack/ Sawtooth wolves forever

  • Remember, this is the way of life. Those wolves died, so that others may live.

Don't forget the circle of life people. I didn't cry. I have a heart, don't get me wrong, but I was just happy that I had the joy of watching this.

Jim and Jamie must also be thrilled experiencing this. Not the death of the wolves, but their lives.

Just remember that which matters most :-)

  • The ending made me cry! I love wolves and i cant stand to know that even one of them has died! D:

    To Jim and Jamie,

You people are so inspiring! And so is teh tribe that gave teh Saw Tooth pack a new hone. ^^ Thanks to all the people who helped them save teh wolves! :D

  • This documentary was so inspiring.

  • this is amazing

  • Oh my god, the ending made me cry

  • And to believe it's true that were hunting these beautiful animals to extinction, why would anyone want to hurt these ? They seem more caring and loving to their families than any human could be to theirs.

  • Your devotion to the sawtooth pack won't be forgotten. Such a touching story :(

  • D': Its just so sad D':

This documentary gave me a whole new perspective on wolves. Farewell to the Sawtooth Pack for there story does not go untold. Wolves are not just vicious killers toward humans every single time.

  • This is my favorite documentary because it has wolves, I cry everytime, & the Dutchers show that wolves amazing, kind & beautiful creatures. It was a tragedy to know the pack is gone, if anything wolves should live longer than 9-10 years. It would've been an honor to meet the Sawtooth pack at least once. THANK YOU JIM & JAMIE DUTCHER FOR THIS DOCUMENTARY. (R.I.P. SAWTOOTH PACK ) :,(

  • Just couldn't control my tears

  • This was a beautiful story . I got to stand only a few feet away from two timber wolves at the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park here in Nova Scotia , Canada . For some reason , with other people around , he kept watching me . I got this sense that he "knew" I was friend and not foe . It was such a spiritual experience . How I envy the both of you . May you have many more years of helping the human race to understand these amzing animals . Thank you

  • i loved this story it made me shiver hearing the wolves how i think it was amazing on what they did and i love wolves and wish one day to do somthing amazing to help wolves this story was inspiring and emotional to me i loved every minite :)

  • It takes a lot for me to cry. but i have to admit this had me in tears, especially when the news that most of the original members of the pack had died.

  • what an AMAZING story !!! thanx for the great job :)

    --

  • An totally enchanting documentary. Thank you, Pawneewolf.

  • *went to get more tissues*

  • 0 dislacks yep its to good to have any

  • well the wolves were fed killed animals and when you release them into the wild how do you expect them to survive, obviously thel die one by one and without food and the reinforcement of hierarchy at the meals the pack will fragment and perish.

  • no why in the crap does it half to be so sad

  • If I die I would want to come back as a wolf they're so cute and peaceful.

  • it;s so really AMAZING!.for every individual and for the people who always killed the innocent animals in the ecosystem must watch this inspiring videos. and all of the pet lovers who loved animals must have organization to proof their love! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! JIM and JAMIE DUTCHER two thumbs for you!

  • This is one of the best on wolves i have ever seen thank you so much for your beautiful work. People like you are true heros that deserve the highest honors. This was so heart warming I cried also. Thanks again Jim and Jamie. I hope people will have a better understanding of the wolf after watching this and will help preserve them.

  • wow im so sad and cried so much at the end RIP sawtooth pack...... I love you

  • I don't know how someone could watch this and NOT cry. It's so touching!

  • Fucking beautiful. Thanks pawneewolf!

  • How beautiful, I too couldn't stop crying, these amazing people how lucky they were to do what they had set out to do for not just them but for our future children, thank you....God Bless

  • im crying....

  • I admit. This did make me like wolves a lot more. Nature can just be so wonderful.

But I still like cheetahs better. ;P

  • continuing...

animals who couldn't bring down what wolves can, benefit. Another interesting thing. Hunters try to keep the herds down, but they Don't take, the old, sick, and young, they usually take the biggest and strongest, weakening and making the herd smaller. Nice...

  • @HoundmanV Heh we humans lost our sense of natural balance when we started thinking ourselves to be greater then nature.

But I completely agree with you.

  • I find it interesting that people you would think would know the balances in nature, that have been developed over eons, don't understand. Recently heard, where wolves were reintroduced, the environment flourishes, because deer and elk don't eat all the vegitation, stopping trees from growing. On a PBS show, "Alone in the Wilderness" The guy who lived there 35yrs, Thought wolves just killed for the fun of it, but the show shows, how many other animals benefit.

  • beautiful......

  • made me cry, thanks so much for posting this up

  • man these are the times when you ethier wish you were a wolf, or you were jim and jamie

  • This is inspiring. It tells how wolves can not only represent the natural ancestor of faithful dogs, it brings a couple together as well. RIP Sawtooth Pack.

  • omg, i didnt think i could cry over a wolf pack that ive never met before! Ive never seen a wolf and this made me cry my heart out! RIP Lakota and kamots, i wish i could of met you! after watching this i realised how much I LOVE WOLVES! its so sad to think that they yoused to kill them in england thinking that they were crule, mean animals, love you sawtooth pack, pass on in peace and happines :)

  • the book is called Living With Wolves i gonna get it

  • not's can be more faithful than animals ... but most of all honest ...... how great ... living with the wolves- thank you for this wonderful documentation:)) greetings from austria

    Silvie

  • Why did they die? What is like there now besides this lone wolf? One would think after assembling a pack different generations would be in place?

  • Why did they all die?? Was it old age??

  • @danger7x7 yes

  • @danger7x7 Yes it was. In this documentary they say that wild wolves live about 7 to 10 years. I have even heard before that in the wild they only live about 5 years- while in captivity, in a zoo for example, they can live approximately 20 years...! That tells you a lot about hardships in the wild. (Possibly thanks to humans..)

  • thankyou so much pawneewolf for uploading this after watching this series i will try and be a better person

  • best ever

  • Ohh I had to cry through the last 4 parts of this XD... this is such a beautiful story it really touched me

  • WOW i feel many different emotion, happiness, sadness, inspiration and others i cant describe i wish the sawtooth pack was still alive i cried at the end of this TT.TT. i love wolves and i want to become someone who can help them out!!

  • @dally4790 they are still alive silly, just not the orignals that were realesed for the science thing, there child are alive having there child etc. :D which is why im glad this story wasn't completly sad :)

  • Thank you so much for sharing that. I greatly enjoyed the videos. Thank you so much for putting them all up!!

  • Thank you for uploading such a beatuiful documentary, now i understand more about wolves. Once again thank you ; )

  • i love this video. this was all recorded with limited human interaction with the exception of the wolves approaching and the initial raising to assure they were healthy cubs. they let the pack grow on their own without imposing terms. i share it with everyone i can

  • Thank u so much for uploading this- fantastic, really moving. What a wonderful planet this is (apart from us humans ruining it). Jamie and Jim were a great example. Loved it! Thank u!

  • rip sawtooth pack <3 xx

  • I loved this!

    Worth the watch.

    Im speechless wow.

  • i know this sounds crazy but i couldnt stop crying at the end it was so sad yet so heart warming... long live the wolves :')

  • This was great and i enjoyed it very much. Thank you all.

  • are they married??

  • Let me explain something that you may have not learned in redneck 101 . Wolves are an apex predator. This means things that they kill, in this case an exhausted elk with its tongue hanging out, trickles down through the food chain regardless if its an entire carcass or just remaining scraps which supports the ecological system of the area. So that elk, though disregarded by the wolves, went to sustain a whole host of other animals.

  • Thank you so much!!!!! I Loved it......that was a show that was worth watching.THANK YOU SO MUCH.I'm glad you up load it for people like me can watch, since I can't afford both cable and internet.glad to see this on internet thank you so much again.....

  • Semply fantastic, thank you very much for doing this job.

  • wolves are soooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely amazing documentary, seen it a couple of times & only now realized that it's narrated by Liev Schreiber, one of my favourite actors!

  • I'm skeptical about how much natural behavoir is exibited by wolves raised by humans, kept in a fenced enclosure, and not hunting as a pack.

  • You have to read the book. That's not what they were trying to show with this "experiment". There is much documentation about the hunting and eating habits of wolves. They were trying to show the relationship of wolves in the pack. And they succeeded. If you have not read "Wolves At Our Door" I highly recommend it!

  • Thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks Pawneewolf.

  • Thank you very much for sharing this video!

  • thanks alot this video was great! :D i feel soo sad how after all those time with the wolves, then they all died :( its really sad when you think about it....

  • thank-you for taking the time to upload this documentary.

It was very touching to see humans physically interact with this pack of wolves.

Wolves are truly intelligible and remarkable creatures

  • true thing some1 said in one of the parts , that animals r better then humans, whatever this animals do is only to try to survive, what about we? (we as humans in general). tyvm for uploading this, it was amasing.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. I love all animals (except the human) but I have a special place in my heart for wolves. A beautiful documentary. I hope this pack will live well. If only all people were as loving as the ones in this. I have never cried so much in all my life.

  • By this pack I mean their memory

  • @TherianthropeAndrewH u r human idiot..

  • What.... really?... wow, I never knew that.

But now I know, thank you, your oh so wise.

Yes I know Im human, what on earth gave you the impression I didnt?

Im sorry I love wolves, is that a crime?

Oh & next time you attempted to be smart at least try to construct a sentence that doesnt let people know how stupid you are.

  • @Dominicanboy255 never said loving wolves was a crime im saying your human too and how do you not understand my sentence when you responded to it?again, idiot

  • your and you're* there is a difference

  • thank you

i love wolfs with the deepest affection.

    Thank You.

  • Awhh. :] Beautiful.

  • omg! I cried EVERYtime i see this!

  • @Joeyblondewolf2 what's the name of the book?

  • @ZWGrail The name of the book is; "Living with Wolves", by Jim and Jamie Dutcher, ISBN 978-1-59485-004-2.It even includes a CD with the Vocalizations of the pack, recorded by Jamie Dutcher, and, ofcourse, lots of beautiful pictures!

  • thank you so much for posting this incredible film. :) what amazing animals wolves are.

  • I cried so much at the end!!!!!!!! did the whole pack die?

  • can anybody list every member of the saw tooth pack and their final ranking for me because i didn't get to see the new official cubs or get their names. if you can just reply:)

  • someone posted a video that i just watched, and it listed the elder eight of the saw tooth pack: Kamots, Chemuhk, Lakota (who finally got out of the omega position =]...), Matsi, Wahotts, Wyakin, Amani, and Motomo. sorry, dont know final ranking.

  • Thanks so much for loading these vids. I blubbered like a baby. Such a beautiful story!

Thank you for this! It was pure magnificence.

  • TY 4 HAVING THE WHOLE THING =]

  • Thank you so much for putting this up. I almost cried this was so moving :')

  • i was extremely moved by this film. thanks for sharing.

  • yes thank you for sharing!!!!

  • End was sad. =0( I wish this could've been uploaded in 10 minute segments, but other than that-it was a beautiful documentary and thank you for uploading it.

  • Wonderful

  • this whole film is so heart warming...

I envy those two people who made this film...

It was also my dream to live on the wilds together with the animals...,

This film changes my own point of view about life., I agree with the last post, after watching this whole film, something would probably change within you... and thats your view on life,..

Thanks a lot to jim and jamie, I would pray for you two guys,..

  • Moving, insightful and beautiful. Three words out of many I can come up with which describes my love for this film.

Something inside me changed when I first watched Living with Wolves. Their books and film reached into my heart and left their mark on it. Thank you, Jim and Jamie, for intorducing me to the wolf's beautiful yet tragic world.

Now only I wish there was a PAL DVD!

  • This is the best film i ever seen about the wolf, i had a malamute mix 4 years ago before i moved from Sweden and this wolfs remind me so much about him, thank you so much Jim and Jaime for this film

  • This was an amazing story! I live in Wisconsin and we are starting to get a fair number of Wolves. Recently I came across a wolf track while hiking through the woods! It really is a remarkable specis.

  • Very good story. It was interestering to see the social characteristics of a wolf pack. No doubt the wolves have a place in the wild. Unfornately, people have moved into many of the areas that wolves may have once lived. How can they survive in those areas with people, domestic livestock and game herds that people have built? Does not the fact that wild wolves do alot of damage in these areas affect whether or not their numbers can or should be controlled?

  • thank you for sharing! very intriguing!

  • :(

the ending made me tear up, but, in a good way.

just knowing that these amazing creatures are finally getting the chance to live on makes me happy.

  • What a wonderful wonderful story about wolves! As a result of watching all 14 parts of your movie, my previous negative views about wolves have changed into a more positive one. If it were at all possible than the current 5 star rating permitted on YouTube, this movie deserves way more than that. Thank u so very much for creating and uploading this movie.Well done to both of u! I am sure that you both continue to be happily married long after you both made this movie about your wolf friends

  • was this a book? what was it called? this made me so sad. but also very inspired. lakota was my favorite i think. did the sawtooth pack ever have any pups? i thought that martsi liked lakota at first and that was why kamots didnt pick her as a mate cuz he knew she liked his brother. but who knows really.well the wolves i guess. : )

  • death to no one

  • thank you ..

    it was lovely

  • this was like a book I couldn't put down. I had to watch them all. It's way past my bedtime now! :) Great program. Remarkable people, Jim and Jaime. And what beautiful animals.

  • Chemuhk escaped the enclosure and was last seen wondering north of the area wheb the wolves were first brought there...they still have no idea how she managed to scale the fence and escape. Kamots was removed from his alpha position and passed away, shortly after Matsi was seperated from the pack. Lakota was the last original Sawtooth pack memeber to pass on. I was very upset when I read the wolves` death too.

  • me too, i was veeery upset
