The interviewer is a pretty massive tool but he asked the questions ive been wanting ed to answer. ed was a bit (very) uncomfortable in answering them. I'd still like Ed to expand on what happened to Live. As a fan for a long time im still a bit in the dark.
How sad what happened with 'live.' They were the best band to come out of the 90's. They were around a long time. Thankfully I was fortunate to see them perform for the last time. Just wish I had gotten to meet them. Ed didn't need to be selfish and money hungry like that.
Lol someone said the gracious few rock bigtime ...err..no they don't! its plain to hear that in their sound, ed obviously wrote and made the music that WAS live!! his new album sounds like a live record where as the gracious few sound like a shitty b-grade garage band! That's why they didn't want to split because with out ed they are NOTHING""
I'm glad the interviewer asked the question because he cleared it up. He wasn't trying to ambush him he wanted to give him a chance to clear his issues with live then move on and focus about his stuff now. Now I see clearly that he wanted to move on too his solo project before the band broke up. He already had studio stuff in the works and the band wanted him to scrap that stuff and stay with live and he wanted to be compensated or covered for the work he was doing.they said no so he stayed solo
What an asshole of an interviewer! Who cares about that crap? Why did you choose this location over and over, and then disgruntled ex band member comments? They are nothing without him? He was Live. Get a clue.
Live was a great band but he was right about a lacking feeling from them in the last CD. I wish they could have stayed together but change has proven to be good.
fuck! get a new interviewer with a less annoying voice and someone who has more respects for the artists they interview! he said 'let it go' and the dick still persisted!
this interviewer was biased and obviosly working for a no ethics producer, ed is doing gods work getting people to sign up to sponser world vision kids
Its interesting to hear Ed's side too....from what I can make out the band tried to get him to play some festival without much notice which slashed with his studio time, probably to test his loyalty so Ed asked for an insane amount of money to either call their bluff OR as compensation to pay off studio bills.
the new album is awesome.....and I am behind Eddie K's solo career 100%. If he isn't feeling "Live" right now then let him do what inspires him....he may go back one day :)
@HowellKenny -ed did answer the first question about whybands accusation of ed wanting a lot of money for no reason and ed gave a good answer that he wanted to make a solo record and they were trying to get his focus off of that after it sounded like he already paid for studio time and maybe ed was willing to play the concert festival at the last minute if the band would cover the fee for his solo studio time , and producer costs and maybe ed wanted to play with some other like mindedordifpeople
I think Ed's new album kinda sucks sorry Ed I love ya but gota be honest. I think your old boys are making better music with The Gracious Few they rock huge!!!
I love Ed's new direction, and I think his new album is amazing. I just saw him last night at the concert in Charlotte, and his eyes were lit up with pure joy and happiness the whole time. You could tell he was genuine. I connect with Alive far more than any other album he's been on. I love many of those albums, but this one is very real and full of creative passion for life. Great job!
I`ve loved +Live+ since Mental Jewelry and have always looked up to Ed as a great songwriter and singer. But, I am deeply dissapointed in him... It is so obvious that he is lying, everyone can see that! To do something like that to your friends and bandmates, which he has played with since their early teens is just... beyond me. I sincerely hope they will reunite one day and make some great music once again! :)
Well Ed's album flopped so i guess it wasn't worth ending Live for was it?
I haven't been huge on these guys since T.Copper back in the mid 90's. 'Songs From Black Mountain' was a partial return to form, and certainly better than B.O.P or V, at least imo, but still not enough.
I agree with whoever said that the musicians in Live are superior to the ones he has now.
"I've done nothing dishonest" Look at him move in the hot seat. At least the prick knows that he was wrong and has to look at himself in the mirror everyday. Caught with your hand in the cookie jar......"hey ED!" Digging for extra cash, just like how you're digging for that booger throughout the interview. DISGRACEFUL!
I don't think the interviewer was necessarily being rude..I think he was just asking interesting questions...After all, Chad Taylor posted that info of the fallout, and nobody has since heard much from Ed's side of the story. Grace is an okay song, but it does sound rather generic and mainstream. I like The Gracious Few. I keep listening to that band, and couldn't be happier for Dalheimer, Gracey, and Taylor.
Ha Ha, "my home town . . . Donkeyshit California." Dude, you're from York Pennsylvania. Your brothers (scratch that, former brothers) aren't ashamed of it; why are you?
jet " eds new music rocks " lol your a joke.....i have been a fan of live for 18 years.......eds voice has crumbled over the years, and his lyrics have been more and more cliche ''''''want to talk about " grace " talk about him stealing from his bandmates...is that " grace "
it was the band that made live, not just ed......chad gracey is one of the best drummers in the buis........taylor and dalheimer are amazing.........ed is a liar, anybody would know that from this interview......
@bri1again you're right, his new songs/lyrics aren't really strong. The older Live songs like lightning crashes were awesome and so good, but his new ones aren't, they sound so commercial. I do like Grace however. And Ed's been ruined by stardom. It's a shame.
This interviewer, through his personality or is bitter about the break up, felt like he was cornering Ed. No doubt this interviewer was rude , and for Ed to get irritated is justified I'd be too. I fully support TGF and hope they do well, let's move on to great things. Not worth going on about who said and did what.
it WAS live the others are losers, they no they are nothing without him and offered him 100k extra to stay, ed's new music rocks just like all the older live stuff that he and he only wrote, he made the others rich off his back, the gracious few can suck my nuts

A lead singer with great vocals and who writes the lyrics deserves a lead singer bonus. I'm sure all bands do it. Big deal.
