  • i just wanna sincerely thank you for uploadin this track! I thought i'd neva hear it again after i lost the tape all those yers ago. It's a monumental track and absolutely fundamental to the origins of any tune containin base'n'sare at a higher bpm.

For me, it marks point where the tree of dance branched from hardcore jungle into jungle and hardcore which later blossomed into happy hardcore and drum&bass!

OH, not forgettin the prodigy of course. Praise be to Keith for the prodigy experience

  • fucking wicked tune.... there is a slipmate studio set he did where he played tune after tune...

its on hardcorewillneverdie... one of my fav tapes..... has the likes of ruff in the jungle, and snowman, the tune he plays after this is unreal

  • i have decided that this is my number one tune ever

  • Hmm i've got still a copy of this somewhere.

  • one of the best things about unclear lyrics was making your own up!!

    y

  • who cares u mad heads top tune

  • seduction at his BEST, good upload,a hard track to find

  • "Through bushes and through briars/I lately took mine way/For to hear the young birds singing/And the lambs to sport and play" - English traditional

It's close to the top post but it's sport in this version and not skip. And "mine way" because 'way' starts with a vowel sound.

It took me forever to figure this out. Eventually I had it slowed down and EQed so I could make out 'and through briars' and I found it from there. It's hard to imagine how difficult it is if you don't have the lyrics.

  • i prefer the storm remix

  • For fuck sake you retards...Here are the CORRECT lyrics, which, are, from an english folk song.

" Through bushes and through Briars, I lately took my way, for to hear the young birds singing, and the lambs to sport and play"

  • Wicked Seduction at his raw best!! Mental stab breakdown half way through....any ideas what he used to create this sound???

  • @EditorSparkie Drugs

  • Outta control!!! Keep spinning!!!

  • The lambs to sport and play...

  • Two Moishas and two Brians are laid to talk one way. but to hear the young boy singing and the lobsters sport away.......C C Come again!

  • LUV DAT BREAK -BREAT

  • Thanks for the uploads, thanks for sharing!

  • No Mail Outs

  • The sample is from an old english folk song "bushes & briars" the lyrics are

    Through bushes and through briars,

    I lately took my way.

For to hear the young birds singing,

and the lambs skip and play

  • Great work there DJHARMONY1. Happy new year.

  • wikkid 1. thx man.

  • @DJHARMONY1 It's actually "sport and play" as the last line

  • @DJHARMONY1 looked up the lyrics of the "bushes and briars" orginal folk song and the woman never sings those words, no mention of lambs either!! fuck nose

  • @talltomp

Theres a few different takes on it heres one with the same lyrics

youtube.com/watch?v=UJ8IUqCLKk8 if your on about the SANDY DENNY bushes & briars song that just has the same song title

  • @DJHARMONY1

    Through bushes and through briars,

    I lately took my way;

All for to hear the small birds sing,

And the lambs to skip and play.

The real text is a bit different.

  • @DJHARMONY1 isnt it the lambs to sport and play??

  • @moanjackery3k Yes it is.

  • @DJHARMONY1 I used to never know what it said, but i used to think it said "and the monsters cum-out an play" lol

  • @DJHARMONY1 OOOhh I was sooo close ... unlike my m8 who thought it said "and the lobsters all turned grey" at the end ;D

  • @DJHARMONY1 lmfao for years that has bugged the shit out of me ,now i can finally sleep at night :)

  • @DJHARMONY1 sounds gay as hell

  • @DJHARMONY1 nevermind

  • @DJHARMONY1

Good God, thank you so much for solving an age old mystery for me! For the longest time, I've never been able to figure out what the lyrics were, if even they were original lyrics or not. I can finally sleep at night!

And as much as I love old skool, I'll always love the DJ Storm Remix the best. Long live happy hardcore!

  • @tehyoster lol yeah i was hearing 2 russians and 2 liers since this tune came out

    PEACE

  • @DJHARMONY1 so close. its 'spurt', not 'skip'. but kudos. not many people have a clue what any of it is :)

  • But what are the Lyircs!?!?!?!?!?!? Its been Driving me mad since i was 12

  • Later on in 1996 sampled by DJ Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - Young Birds...

  • U lot done to many pillls LOL

  • omg ... so it's not just me an my m8 who sing

"and the lobsters all turned grey" :D

tbh I have thought about it LOADS I think its "the lambs a sport and play"

  • wadda chooon! great upload, thanx

  • massive tune , aha like the comment below :L

  • WOW!

    Oh My Actual God.

I have been looking for the name & artist of this bloody track for about 10 years or so...

That damn vocal has been stuck in my head for so long its become part of my stream of consciousnesses...

I knew it as Two rushes are two Brians which doesnt make any sense, and that always annoyed me,. The whole thing has made me a bit mentalist..

Its all a bit of an anticlimax now, and I need to have a lie down.

    *passes out*

  • same here, but 15 years... I can't believe i finally found the tune *single tear and smile* haha

  • I' m actually in the exact same situation as you- tracking down the name and song title of a drum and bass track dropped at subdub which has inter-twinned its fantastic grimey bass noise into every string of thought i have- sometimes i talk to the tune of the song, i can't get it out of my head, how did you go about finding this tune- without knowing the song name of artist- help me before my- now certain- mental breakdown

  • @garlicluva I so second that emotion!!

  • @garlicluva man.. i know what ur saying. i kept on tryin to sing it to people -i lately talked my way, cant you hear the young boy singing from a land b4b time rang!!

n funnily enough no one knew what i was on about

  • @garlicluva hahaha

  • You are a bit mentalist mate.

  • @garlicluva

LOL comment of the day :) And I understand.

  • By the way user "yrouiear" it's an old English folk song by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The version sampled was originally erformed by Maddy Prior.

  • Through bushes and through briars

    I lately took my way

For to hear the young birds singing

And the lambs to sport and play

  • come again!

  • Think these lyrics originated from a folk song released in Ireland. I stand to be corrected!!!

  • "Two Russian sons called Brian

    Are lately taught my way

For to hear the young boy singing

    And the lobster's four-ton plate"

    Obviously.

  • @iannewcomb you're right I swear thats exactly how it sounds even if its wrong! She shouldn't put on such a strong irish accent really lol especially if its an english song, it definitely sounds like '2 russian sons... brian... young boy singing... lobsters' :)

  • no lobsters then?

  • good effort on the lyrics...she really doesnt pronounciate very well....(joke)

I think I have a Purple Vinyl copy of this somewhere.

  • great.....love it!!

  • I always wondered what the lyrics to this were.

    Here's my effort:

    True motions sounds through Brians

    I lately talk my way

until here I am bored singing

and the lambs just want to play

  • Always mystified me as well mate lol

Not sure where that sample comes from but great track.

  • it's "through bushes and through briars, I lately took my way, for to hear the young birds singing, and the lambs to spurt and play"

  • sport* :P not spurt lol

    Top Tune anyway *****

  • I have been trying to understand those lyrics for 15 years. Thank you so much!!!!!

  • Although your take on the lyrics is far more comical, if not correct. Who is Brian lmfao!!

  • Brian is the name of the lobster who wants to play with the birds, and occasionaly fart at them ;o)

  • Lol it makes a lot more sense now!

  • rofl!

    CLASSIC TUNE!!!

Least we know who brain is, and the purpose of the lobters lol

  • if only i could spell :D

  • super.. classic.. thnx

  • Come again

    Through bushes and through briars

    I lately took my way

For to hear the young birds singing

And the lambs to sport and play

    Through bushes and through briars

    I lately took my way

For to hear the young birds singing

And the lambs to sport and play

    Come again

  • Bushes and briars Through bushes and through briars I lately took my way; All for to hear the small birds sing and the lambs to skip and play. I overheard my own true love, her voice it was so clear; "Long time I have been waiting for the coming of my dear. Sometimes I am uneasy and troubled in my mind, Sometimes I think I'll go to my love and tell to him my mind. And if I should go to my love, my love he will say nay, If I show to him my boldness, he'll ne'er love me again

  • i had this on test press.. i always thought this was wuthering heights..!!!

  • Farken classic track!

"2 rushes and 2 brians, i let you talk my way but to hear the young boy singing and the lobsters fart and play."
