@DarkELfBG4ever You have to show them their reflection as kittens. I put a mirror down for my cat, when he was young, and he finally took to playing with himself in the mirror. Usually when he has his daily "spaz out" if I leave a mirror down he'll play by running towards it. But isn't being aggressive with it. He's actually playing. BTW, buy a stuffed lion or tiger about the same size/bigger than cat LOL. Depending on personality, they'll freak out or "lay" against it after getting used to it.

@CarpathianCarl really interesting facts:D right now, though, my cat (6-7 years old) isn't in the house, she stays in the garden. (she wouldn't stay inside, she's a "free" cat:D) in 1-2 years from now when i'm gonna move in a house on my own, i'm gonna get one and i'm gonna try these:D

@DarkELfBG4ever Also, it might take awhile as they usually "avoid" eye contact with the reflection. I'd sit behind him, making sure he'd look in the mirror. He'd follow my finger's reflection. Other times wait til he was around a corner, than position the mirror to "appear" as another cat "hiding" around a corner. Also, with the mirror in front of him/her, try angling it at different angles as it'll appear the cat is in the floor, and they tend to get curious.

@DarkELfBG4ever I've noticed that my cat can be trained by "making him" do something. When I bought his scratch post (about 2 months old), I'd hold his front legs while sitting behind him, and make him scratch at the post. Even taught him to "grab" the post (like putting your hands on each side of someone's shoulders) Surprisingly he caught on quickly. He'll only scratch the post and not any furniture as well. Same idea with the mirror. If he ignores it, sit with him and "puppet" him and see.

Quite a smart kitten, it successfully deduced that the back and front of the mirror are parts of the same object despite looking different as evidenced by its attempts to look behind the mirror whenever it confirmed the 'other' cat was still present on the reflective side. Most 3-month old humans can't master object integration, guess kittens evolve spatial abilities at a different rate.

At the end of the day guys, it's a kitten. It may not understand the concept of a mirror, but eventually it will get used to the idea, my cat is 8 years old now and walks past the mirror everyday without concern, I think she eventually understood what it is, as she can see me in the mirror too! Cats are still quite smart considering we have words to listen too as a cat cant understand anything but their name :)
