The same music, the same food, the same culture, the same traditions. What make's us different? The religion... Stop this fight, we live at the same style Turks & Greeks
its all over balkan this kind of music,in south albania are the real gurus of this kind of music, they breathe through the clarinete, but its found all over the balkans similar catches of this music mainly played by roma people(gypsies) and they are good at it.
This music is really pan-Balkan friendship :) It is a Tsamikos, and as the name indicates it is of Cham (South Albanian) origin yet one of the most popular Greek dances done at every Greek wedding. And I'm guessing here it is played by Roma musicians. And this is how it has always been in the region, many communities influence each other's music and culture, and the Roma spreading it around and playing it the best!
when i was in athens this last spring i saw these guys playing at the exact same spot and really enjoyed it. i ended up sitting there listening for about a half hour before i had to leave. nice music!
this is not a G clarinet, but an ordinary Bb..Of course it's played extraordinarily..Notice that this music is not tempered but played with tempered instruments
I just started searching for Balkan music since I read in an article that citizens residing in N. America have trouble catching the rhythm. That includes me of course...UGH
