  • I'm a believer, and this is not anything close to the point of the bible. Pisses me off that these people become the 'norm' that the world sees christians as.

  • Isn't that hitting? No, it's spanking. What's the difference? Hitting you do with your hand and spanking is when you BLOW THEIR FUCKING LITTLE HEADS OFF, MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!!!

  • I think that the Pearls have a right to espouse pain- not physical injury- as method of conditioning; all the same, I'm sure they are wrong. I grew up in a loving home, primarily without religion. When I did wrong, my parents explained why my behavior was harmful and expressed sadness. Yes, I felt emotionally bad, and that was part of the point- but it was also the point to learn. To learn and grow and become a better person.

I have never struggled with religion- I have left it behind.

  • I used to be into god but people, like my history teacher ect would tell me that its stupid and shit and I ignored them but then i started reading stories about how Christians abuse money donated by churches n I used to have this Christian "friend " who told me that all non-christians go to hell...and that's when I started to think straight and became an atheist at 13...somehow Im happier that I am an atheist than a christian

  • Using violence to teach children not to be violent..... yeah, makes perfect sense...

  • Comment removed

  • According to the dictionary spanking is defined as "An act of slapping, esp. on the buttocks as a punishment for children USUALLY DONE BY HAND" It's not hitting they say? WTF Is going on with the wrold?

  • Maybe if you would take the time to read the ENTIRE book, you would understand that what the Pearls are advocating is not to discipline your child but to train them to do the right thing. I can take anything out of context and make an argument in my favor. Please educate yourself before listening to one sided propaganda... It rings a familiar tune to do that. Last time humanity did listen unquestioningly to propaganda we lost 55 million lives...

  • Christians eagerly seek out any excuse to be abusive to others.

  • Oh shut up, neither book should be banned. Its the parents fault. They were conscious adults who chose to do that. The authors of the books (both) were greedy misled idiots, but that doesn't reduce the parents blame. Oh, and to those saying the bible teaches us to love each other, read it again.

  • How many more children must die as the result of this book before Michael Pearl and that simpleton of a wife of his are put in jail where they belong? And when are these sketchy Christian adoption agencies going to be investigated? They pressure congregants into "adopting" children who've already been traumatized by childhoods spent in poverty, war zones, etc., and then teach these parents to beat the "heathen" out of them via Michael Pearl's abuse manuals.

  • "I've never met any well-trained, emotionally secure, happy, creative children that weren't spanked."

You need to come to my family gatherings, mister. My nieces and nephews fit the bill, no spanking ever.

  • she didn't die by getting spanked! she died because she was beaten and her parents said she killed herself.

  • Despicable.

  • This is what God wants they say? Really? God speaks to these people? people who say God tols them " to do something are often mentally ill.

  • Makes me sick!!! And the Pearls should be ashamed of themselves!! Someone should spank their ass to death. There are much better and humane ways to get a child's attention/discipline them!

  • If I can hope for anything to come out of this is these parents rot in jail and the child get out of religion.

    Religion is a vile venom....

  • Look at these people. They are uneducated, backwater, Bible-thumping idiots. Who are they to portray themselves as an expert on parenting? Religion, in any form, is NOT a source on parenting. If you're looking for advice on how to raise your child, seek help or guidance from a person with a education in child development and substantial real-world experience. Just because their children "survived" or "thrive" by their standards is not proof of their expertise.

  • Good example of why christianity is wicked and devoid of Gods.

  • I started to watch this video and had to stop. This is one of the most discussing things I have ever seen. Can they not think for themselves and realize that this is just WRONG. They are now murderers. and not christians. Our God is a loving god. I find this bone chilling. There is no excuse for stupidness and uneducated. Don't them hide behind some bible and get away with this. These people should be quartered and cooked.

  • @EasyTurbo9

Actually The God of the old testament is a brutal God ordering many people slaughtered & according to scripture drowned the earth's entire population except for a single family. All this brutality in the name of Love.

Even Christ says in Luke, bring them before me who will not follow & slay them before me.

Moses separated those to continue to follow him & those that refused, his followers drew swords & slaughtered 3000 men women & children, Moses is no different than Jim Jones.

  • There are crazies in every religion. It's sad that people stereotype christians and think were like that (which were not!). I have 3 kids who i would never harm a hair on their head. Most christians are good, honest people. Please don't group us with these crazy s.o.b's.

  • What are these people thinking? How about love, encouragement, being there for your child?!

  • spanking and beating are 2 different things and one should not be mistaken for the other...thank goodness mine responded better to time outs and groundings...

  • these people are obviously radicals just as any other religion has radical belief systems look at the Muslims for example or the Taliban yet most are peaceful loving people like you and me should we damn a whole society just for a few radical's who have taken scripture and twisted it to their way of thinking...

  • @mrmusicman68 Yes it pretty obvious these people are radicals, that term is to hard for a flaming liberal to understand thats why they would group anyone that reads the bible with theses few that are not only radical but Im sure have some form of mental disorder. Of course by liberal logic, since they have a mental disorder we could assume they must be liberal because it is known fact all liberals have SERIOUS mental disorders.

  • Sick effing shit. I hope the Pearls and anyone who subscribes to their torture methods of children die from ass cancer.

  • Talibangelical christianists will all be going to HELL ...

AND they'll be taking their hate-mongering party of choice - Repubicans - along with them!

  • @SoINeedAName48 spoken like a true brain dead liberal. Thats like saying all Democrats are socialist. In both cases its only the most ignorant of that group that makes the rest look bad. Good job making the rest of your particular group look like brain dead baffoons.

  • @SoINeedAName48

im with you ! they all seem to hang together dont they?

  • fucking sick shit

    these Pearls are torturers.

  • I can't wait until these Christianists die off.

  • Pro-life...indeed...

  • Christian love in full display.

    Beat your kid to death.

  • A rod is something shepherds use to train their sheep. Have you ever seen or heard of a shepherd beating their sheep? No. They use it to gently guide the sheep. Use gentle discipline.

  • How did I know this was going to be a video about brain dead rednecks. I'll bet my bile duct that they are also republicans.

  • As much as I hate the pearls we cant blame them entirely for this. I mean they did not tell them to beat that girl for seven hours straight.

  • Beating your kid to death is evil. I have read that book and do spank my kids. I love my kids and you can not blame a book for some freak killing their kids. If yo truly LOVE your kids you would never beat them to death...this is a joke, CNN is crap

  • First of all, his Wife doesn't look intelligent enough to put a sentence together. Secondly, give this book to the Inmates in Gen Pop. Then ask them to demonstrate what they've learned. Then put Pearl in a Jail cell and have him endure what he preaches. Then make him stand and defend his book.

  • Let us make note, the ex-wife of CNN owner Ted Turner wants children to be put to death in infancy by Planned Parenthood abortionists and said the religious leader she most admired was Jim Jones of the People's Temple suicide cult, Never trust any advise on helping your children live long and prosper from leftwing liberals who want to save us from overpopulation by killing off large numbers of us.

  • Reality check. Saudi Arabia where children are beaten by sharia law has one of the highest population growth rates on Earth. Germany where spanking is illegal is losing 2% of its population every year meaning German Socialists will be extinct within fifty years. Which extreme is more dangerous to the survival of your family? I would tend to think it would be the one more likely to make your family extinct.

  • @Texasjim2007 I don't understand your correlation. Because spanking children is illegal in Germany, people there are not having children? Sounds to me that you are an advocate for Shariah Law, and reaffirms my thoughts that western Christians have much more in common with eastern Muslims than with the the western secular Atheists who share and contribute to western civilisation.

  • @papersplease Absolutely, no doubt about it.

  • Traditional practices in raising children aren't that hazardous to the health of children compared to say covering up teenage sex with private abortions until you have a global AIDS epidemic that's killed more people than the Vietnam War. Pain is beneficial as a warning of when you're doing something dumb that could kill you. People can die from overdosing on perscription painkillers. All extremes are risky.

  • Spanking is slapping somebody on the backside like my mother used to use on me, A hand slap on the backside has no risk of any serious injury to anybody. There is obviously a slight risk of serious injuries if you beat somebody with a stick like my grandparents used on my parents, which was an almost universal practice

in Biblical antiquity along with absolute monarchy and executions for stealing.

  • Oh that couple will be loved in prison; "I beat a nigger girl to death!" I hope that the man gets a few kisses and touches in prison before he is killed.

  • I book if fine not to harsh on the kids but some parents don't understand the difference between causing some pain to get their attention and killing them to death to get them do whatever they want.

  • I will never beat my children. Discipline, yes, but not physically. I want children that obey because they want to, not because they are afraid.

  • I was spanked as a child (when I was being a little shit) and I didn't turn out any worse for wear. These people were absolutely nuts. My mom, for one, wasn't for using objects.. you can't gauge what your child feels from the end of a stick. When I was acting up, and repeatedly refused to listen to her, she'd pop me on the butt and sure enough, I stopped. She didn't hurt me, she didn't beat me, she disciplined me. Sure, I cried, and I'd go to my room, but she always talked to me afterward.

  • This may be a good precedent for book banning and prosecution. We already don't allow books with anti-American islamic rants that include bomb making techniques. This book is anti-American and shows how to kill.

  • Ugh, these people make me sick.

  • He has never met a well adjusted person who wasn't spanked? Seriously? How many people does he know?

  • Why would anyone follow intstructions in a book labeled "How to train up..." anything? Seriously... train up? Why don't they call it "Yeehaw! Maws and Paws, this book is fer to learn ya 'bout child rearin' ". Religious folks have it SOOOOO easy, to be an expert in any other field, you have to go to school for years and years, or apprentice under a master, or spend years honing your craft; these guys just pull any old crap out of their ass, and the sky-daddy followers just lap it up.

  • Spanking outta "love" hahahahahaha.... Well i want to show you some "love" mister god wants us to spank our children.

  • What the fuck goes on in these courts?

Oh , two parents who beat a child to death.

Well, better give the woman a reduced sentence.

WHY? SHE IS EQUALLY AS PERVERTED AND GUILTY? BECAUSE THEY ASSUME SHE MUST HAVE BEEN NICE TO THEM?

US court system makes me puke

  • @poopfartpenis I concur! And I would like to say that I voted your comment up for 2 reasons. One, I thoroughly agree with you, and two, because your user name is hilarious! I'm such a child I can't help it! I love potty humor!

  • Beating that poor girl to death is absolutely horrific in every way. But the type of spanking that the other couple demonstrated would not be the kind to cause death. I received similar punishment as a child and I wouldn't say I was abused. I simply think her parents were deranged and terrible people. :/ Trying to blame this on a book simply because they took it too far is just silly.

  • @PotatoesAreEpic

    You are missing the point.

It was as a direct result of reading the book, that they did this. Taking it a stage further, if they did not have this insane belief in a god, it is very likely they would not have done this either. Their religious belief & reading the book both served as the catalyst for their actions.

However you dress it up, spanking, slapping, hitting is always (without exception) abuse. If it isn't, then at what point does it become abuse, 1 spank, 2, 3 ?

  • @freetheworldof So religion is to blame? I know plenty of religious people who are perfectly fine individuals. And I myself was spanked as a child and I'm certainly not emotionally scarred or abused. It's not abuse if you don't take it too far. Yes, the book is controversial but the people are not in the wrong for writing it. It was the other people's own fault for taking the book's teachings to the next like. It's like saying videogames cause violence.

  • This isn't a case of religion or religious belief. Do not confuse what these parents did to their child and religious belief. The parents who beat their child did so out of rage, anger, and sadistic belief. They used religion as an excuse to beat their child but I think if you look deeper you'll find that there is a deeper reason to what they did. The news focused on the book and religion because it's easier for people to accept that parents can do this if there is an out side reason

  • The bible says a lot of bullshit. Doesn't mean you listen to it.

  • Start the tractor up that they are sitting on and dump them in the hole they crawled out of.

  • the bible is an archaic old book written by ancient people who had no other way to explain natural phenomena, so they created a so-called "allpowerful being" .

I'm really pissed about this. Stupid ignorant theists. The bible shoudlbe banned. how could they possibly justify the murder of a little girl unless they found some "justification" in the so-called "good book?"

  • @nancy6ify Well, lets stand the fuck up and get that bullshit banned!

  • @nancy6ify You are full of crap! The bible was orginally a history book. But after a million translations and things being left and changed it stopped making sense a long time ago. If it was just another book people would not follow it like they do. Much like the Tora and the Koran. These people were sickos and used religion as a guise for their abuse! It is not as if athiests have never abused a child so stop with the holier then thou attitude.

  • @nancy6ify I do not follow religion nor do I attend church but I am not going to down on every christian because these nuts are out there. I do believe in a higher power however and I am not stupid nor am I ignorant. These people will be punished here on earth and in the afterlife.

  • @nancy6ify You seem to think that everyone who reads the Bible is like this. I've debate this point before, ultimately the Bible (and any other religious material) is a tool. It can be used to inspire good works and heinous atrocities, but the tool itself cannot be held responsible for the acts committed by those who misuse it. The man with the gun is the killer, not the gun. Not sure if you're a Dexter fan, but for every Professor James Gellar there is at least one semi-rational Brother Sam.

  • @nancy6ify The Bible does not justify this - people who misinterpret the book do. The Bible tells us to love each other, not to kill each other.

  • @nancy6ify The Bible should not be banned, that book 'To Train Up a Child' should be.

  • the bible is an archaic old book written by ancient people who had no other way to explain natural phenomena, so they created a so-called "allpowerful being" .

I'm really pissed about this. Stupid ignorant theists. The bible shoudlbe banned.

  • the bible is an archaic old book written by ancient people who had no other way to explain natural phenomena, so they created a so-called "allpowerful being" .

  • It annoys me that they are trying to place blame on the authors. Are they abusive individuals? I would say so. But I don't believe they ever advocated brutally beating a child until s/he was dead. This is something the parents did, and it is something THEY should answer for fully. If you have to be TOLD that hurting a child is wrong, then you are disgusting. If you are in your right mind, no book should be able to change your mind about that or influence you differently, even the fucking Bible.

  • There is a BIG difference in Spanking and beating... The bible is a good source of what to do. Although I believe that in this era stoning or beating is uncalled for. The adults know better!!! Banning the bible, ARE YOU CRAZY? I think so. This is just uncalled for on all sides and I pray for those children.

  • @tnbeehive I think the world would be a better place without the Bible.

  • @tnbeehive sigh...you religious folks (mainly Christians) will never get it. As much proof as there is against religion, you'll never get it..

  • spanking is okay.....NOT ABUSE..............

  • I think one of my biggest problems with this, pragmatically at least, is that I don't believe it's possible to prevent readers from punishing "in anger" just by putting that phrase in a book. When you give yourself permission to strike someone, it's all but certain that you will at some point do so out of frustration. These people's advice is dangerous in the hands of mere human beings. Maybe God can mete out punishment with perfect calm and objectivity, but for us that's out of reach.

  • OK, Brothers and Sisters, I am more than open minded, explain to me please the reasoning behind these beatings

( and if I don't like what you say, if I consider it an insult to my intelligences, will you let me beat you the same way?) don't consider that a question!!

  • Spank children to death? I read many bibles but they nvr say anything about spanking a girl to death

  • This is not investigative journalism, it is a hatchet job. The piece is not investigating whether the book is responsible, it assumes it is and takes a biased tone to convince the viewer. I guess it's no surprise this day and age that viewers can't discern the difference.

  • @GlorifiedTruth yet I bet you watch fox news and believe their blatant spins

  • i think parents should spank their kids, on the butt, cause it soft, and got no bone, so it leaves no damage, except for a red mark, that will go away fully in a hour. a course don't go as hard as you can, and don't go lightly cause then whats the point. it makes the kid think, that what they did was wrong. i got spanked as a kid, but i learned from my mistakes, and i grew up just finnnne!

  • @YouRface841 i agree 100% part of the reason kids are so fucked up nowadays is because they don't spank their kids.

  • The emphasis in this video is on book, while it is obvious that do do this you have to be a sadist first. Religious sadist is twice as bad ofcourse.

  • I spank my daughter LIGHTLY

    I NEVER EVER HIT HER

and when I spank her I don't spank her any more than 2x in a row. I rarely ever spank her, she has to be really bad like screaming for 20 minutes straight.

I was also abused growing up, and daily had bruises and black and blue eyes and everywhere on my body. My dad beat me with a belt, hanger, electrical wire, a branch stick(a big one too. pretty much anything you can name. I had

  • @dashizzle1985 bleeding lashes all over my back. I had a fked up life. I would never ever punish my daughter the way I was punished growing up. I will never lay hand on her ever. She listens to me because I am strict, but I am not strict to the sense where I beat her or hurt her physically. I am laid back with her and my husband thinks I am too laid back about everything. My daughter just threw he laptop across the room and I told her to

  • go to time out with out spanking he at all. There she goes to time out in her bed crying. I told her I will take this away from you because you don't take proper care of it. You are in time out now go! See I don't even spank her. Like I said it is rare for her to get spanking.

Those people who killed their adopted child need to be in jail for the rest o their lives.they don't deserve to live

  • @dashizzle1985

I really admire you for having not only physically survived that hellish childhood, but truly overcome it by becoming a mother who treats her daughter with love and teaches her with moderation. I wish every survivor of abuse were able to do the same. I don't personally believe in spanking, but I'm perfectly able to respect a good mother who uses it sparingly.

I wish you and your family well!

  • I am so upset by this. I was beaten, tortured by my religious adoptive mother...I should write about it...maybe it will help people to understand how they can seriously injure a young child. I was often healing from huge bruises my entire childhood. Should I write about it?

  • That fucking bitch PULLS on a babies hair if they clamp down during breast feeding!? What the fuck is wrong with those two!? I believe in spanking yes, but that is just BEATING if you call for 15 spankings for a KID! I only got 3 when I was little and it was more of the sound that scared me that made me cry than the pain! You give a couple of slight force swats to startle, not full force hits! Those people .... They will be judged when their time comes!

  • how twisted does a mother have to be to pull their baby's hair when it bites her nipple? that is sick, the end of religion can not come soon enough

  • wtf. 10 commandments, one said don't murder, its a sin. and it says in the bible don't hurt children. and yet some christians kill people and hate, and hurt people all the time, and they say they do it in the name of god. ugh.... i.... no..... wtf is wrong with the world!!! but i do agree is a child is acting obsene, then they need to be taught a lesson, not one that will severly hurt them though, i've seen kids who''ve never been punished, and they act like they can do what ever they want.

  • @YouRface841 It never says to not hurt your children, violence is a huge theme in the bible and as the author, Michael Pearl, said several times; Proverbs 13:24 specifically orders them to beat their child(or son in this specific quote). In fact, the entire chapter is pretty violent and teach you do detect sinners.

And note that the fourth( if I am not mistaken) commandment says "Honor thy father and thy mother" which also seems to be relevant here.

    I don't condone this btw. It's disgusting.

  • @VampirePraemium i do agree, you should give a kid a licking when they are acting up. but my point is christians do so many terrible things, and they say its in the name of god, god is suppose to be caring, forgiving, loving and etc, but i'm sure he don't put up with bull crap either. but christains when they don't agree with something, they kill, toture, burn things, and spread hate across he globe. now i''m not saying every christian, but some are like that.

  • @YouRface841 HEY WHATCH IT!!! im christian i dont do anything i get beating what to i do nothing i just go on with my eating disorder, depression, scuicidal thoughts, & cutting. my mom has a differ. religion/... :/ i hate my mom and life of getting beatin

  • @demiilovatoz first off i couldn't understand half of that.

but i didn't say parents have to beat their children, thats child abuse. i meant give them a spannking, cause spanking is usuallly on ur butt, so nothing get damaged. i got spanked as a child and i grew up fine :/

  • Are the Pearls members of Westboro Baptist? Sounds like they would make good recruits!

  • @kimmipwn665 I would like to believe there is a God but the evidence isn't there. A book written buy ancient people who believe a wizard just appeared out of thin air and used magic to make the earth and everything on it appear, poof! Evolution is a "fact" and fossils is the evidence.

  • who doesn't want to spank the CNN man :) ?

  • Discipline comes in many forms. Spanking is just one of them. These people clearly went overboard and just straight up beat her to death. They snapped!

  • Why is this called "ungodly" discipline? The news should be honest and say "godly" discipline. All of them are using instruction from their religious book giving their god's instruction as a basis for their belief and training method.

  • @MegF142857

    News being honest? Hahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahahahahaaha

  • My mom believes in the "spoil the rod" passages and other passages in Proverbs. But she saws there is a fine line between corporal discipline and abuse. Clearly what the Pearls are advocating may seem right in a lot of ways, unfortunately many use it as a guide and often go overboard with it. I've never read the book but I do believe in spanking and discipline, when it's done right and that the child understands why and you show them love afterwards.

  • Comment removed

  • holy fuck these people need to suffer!

  • This is not an unique case, stuff like this happens throughout the year, and people say Christianity is in someway a good thing?

  • I would like to see her smile when shes "spanked"

  • wtf what is the wife smiling about? You dont beat kids in the name of GOD

  • These religions need to be stopped. This is wrong. All of it. Every bit. Faith is not a virtue. Faith. You know what another word for that is? Gullible. This is not good. There is no good religion or faith has done that could not have been accomplished secularly. On the other hand, this kind of backward thinking leads to this shit all the time. It is wrong. All of it.

  • @xJoeEDangerouslyx Religion is not the enemy. Extremism is. I'm just saying. And what are "these" religions huh?

  • This story makes me angry beyond words. I can't believe I share the same universe with these uneducated redneck hick losers.

  • Really These people shouldn't be in prison There clearly fucking insane They have an imaginary friend who tell them to hit there kids yeah because that isn't fucking Schizophrenia.

  • Looks like his wife is his pet, seriously... she smiles and agrees with her husband all the time, if she disagree she'll probably get punched. These people have no moral standards. Religious people are so manipulative and violent, especially those blood sucking Christians.

  • Beat them to death with the same pipe.... i hate violence, but this is fucking disgusting.

  • I bet they beat a new born baby too.

  • This is so fucking disgusting. I can't wait to see them burn in Hell.

  • Comment removed

  • Are you all insane? This is the most awesome book ever. Christians torturing their own children because they are gullible idiots? Whoever thought of this shit was a fucking GENIUS. :D

  • PULLING A BABY"S HAIR?? WHAT IN THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PSYCHOPATHS????

Somebody PLEASE put a bullet in these mother fuckers.

  • Wait.... when a baby bites during breastfeeding????? Pull his/her hair??? I'm speechless.

  • This makes me sick.

  • ....the hell, you'd hit a baby for biting while breastfeeding? What is *wrong* with people?

  • oh yea and i never said this was rite if you know how to read you should read my original comments again the parents in this video are in the wrong not the author of the book hes not telling ne one to beat the life out of their children!

  • omg ppl really you should really get rite with the lord in your hearts if your not read revelations it will tell you alot!

  • respect is not earned out of fear, its earned out of love. most children want to impress their parents. violence only creates more violence

  • i wish my parents had acces to that book when i was a child.

  • God told a guy named George W. Bush some stuff to....God should probably shut his mouth.

  • Discipline a baby ??? really.Like a baby understands, when you can talk to a child then they can understand. Its all in how you raise your kids,My grandson has NEVER been spanked and NEVER had a reason to be spanked, how could that be,these people must be doing something wrong if their kids need spankings so maybe the adults are the problem and not the kids.Sounds like the adults are doing a poor job of raising their kids if they have to beat them into submission.

  • boumar19721972: Don't blame all religion on horrors spread about by Fundamentalist Christians and Fundamentalist Muslims.

  • And this is why I am a non-spanker. Their are other books from so called Christians that use these same logic. One of them is "Babywise" which is basically an infant torture manual to get the babies to sleep through the night. Another is "Sheparding a Childs Heart" so beware. They are sickening. What these people fail to realize is that spanking, which is only mentioned in the book of Proverbs, was ADVICE for the time and not DOCTRINE for all eternity.

  • Both the killers and the writers of the book are F***king EVIL and extremely f****ked up. To even think about beating a child is pure evilness!!! And to cause pain to an infant is just extremely!!!! (there is no word in the english language to explain that thing!!!!!!!)

  • @12snuffen I think the writer seems pretty sensible, and (without reading the book) I agree what he says here. The parents have obviously interpreted it in a twisted way, and are murderers. I think the parents actually believed that what they were doing was good for the child, which is ... well, insane. But they probably didn't understand what they were doing.

  • Perle is an asswipe and proof that Christianity is evil

  • I was only spanked 3 times when I was a child. The rest of the time, my parents explained why what I did was wrong. They treated me as an intelligent being who could understand and learn. And because I knew the reasons for the rules, I had an easier time following them. "Because I said so" was never used in my family.

I'm happy, creative, and productive, and was the same as a child.

  • Physical violence (including a smack on the butt) is never the best choice for disciplining a child. There are always better non-violent alternatives. Those who resort to spanking are just demonstrating their own lack of skill as a parent.

    Also...

“My best advice to anyone who wants to raise a happy, mentally healthy child is: Keep him or her as far away from a church as you can”

    - Frank Zappa

  • I couldn't click on "Like" for this article, but I do applaud YouTube for publishing it. Frankly, it made me violently ill, it was all I could do to avoid vomiting, but you know, these people are going to heaven, because they profess their belief in Jesus. and follow the instructions in the (Genuflect) *BIBLE* , praise the Lord !!! Sons - of - Bitches like these, and their mentors ,the Pearls, should be -s l o w l y , beaten to death while concurrently being drawn and quartered.

  • I didn't "train up" my children, I educated them.

  • Off topic here but why the hell does the girl get 10 years less jail time? Sexists.

  • I believe in spankings, like a smack on the butt with your hand. there is a BIG line between a pat on the butt and seriously beating your child with a rod 30 times or even beating them to death. the verse in the bible says "he who spares the rod hates the child" what i believe is that the "rod" does NOT mean a stick ment to hit someone with but as a guiding tool used by shepherds of that time, for discipline.

  • Even babies aren't safe from religious delusion.

  • fucking sick people

  • "The rod is a gift from God; use it as the hand of God to train your children." First of all, your omnipotent being is to lazy to train his own so called children that you have to do it? Second, if we are going to get truly biblical, why stop at children? What about your slave?(Exodus 21:20-21)

  • my parents and their parents so on and so forth got spankings and they all turned out respectful and successful i had spankings people now and days just dont get it they dont teach their children respect morals and values they teach them vanity and disrespect thats why we live in a society where 12 and 13 year old children are getting pregnant really people come off of it!

  • @heatherheadley14 Dude...what's in the video isn't what you or your parents got. Were you nearly beat to death on a daily bases with a METAL PIPE? No? Then don't compare what happened to you to what happened to these kids.

I understand where you're coming from spanking is needed some times, but not like the way in this news report.

  • @Gazgule2 really i wansnt comparing myself or neone for that matter i was saying the author of the book isnt to blame that we all got spankings growing up but if you must know yes i was beaten badley as a child not with a metal pipe but a bull whip fists belt buckles whatever was handy. i was just saying that the author isnt the one to blame its the parents that did it its the parents to blame!

  • @heatherheadley14

You've got a valid point. But, in some way and to some extent, those who advocate murder, torture or rape must have some responsibility when what they advocate happens. It's like advocating a crowd to string up a horse thief. The person doing it is stirring them up, or inciting them, to commit violence.

The grey area is between advocacy which is free speech and incitement which is a crime.

  • @patrickcorliss Which is why that book that taught folks how to properly commit a murder hit was successfully prosecuted after it led to the death of a woman. It incited murder. It's why youtube removes videos that instruct folks on how to do school shootings, they incite crime.

Like you said, the trick is to find something that incites an illegal act within the book. Personally I'd like to see these people brought up on some kind of charge as I feel they incited torture and abuse.

  • first off i feel sorry for that poor little girl she didnt deserve this. these monsters that call themselves parents took the teachings of our lord way out of context it says spare the rod spoil the child not beat your children for hours on end and the people that wrote the book certainly doesnt seem to be the type of people to do such horrors to children! as for the one saying keep religion and Christianity away from people your totaly wrong its people like you that make the world the way it is

  • @heatherheadley14 The bible encourages you to beat your child if they do anything you do not like. Plain and simple.

  • @Gazgule2 And also kill them Deuteronomy 21:18-21.

  • @boumar19721972 Oh crap I forgot that one. Thanks for putting it.

  • @Gazgule2 Your welcome!

  • @heatherheadley14 The Bible doesn't say that it's wrong to beat your child for hours on end. Quite the opposite, it says flat-out in Deuteronomy 21:18-21 that disobedient sons should be stoned to death.

If the Bible recommends punishing your stubborn son by throwing rocks at him until he dies (because better to have a dead son than a rebellious son), it follows that a hours-long beating is also just fine and dandy.

The Bible is a terrible source of morality. It should be abandoned.

  • @butchkitties you my friend are completly right. t=Thats why I'm an athiest (:

  • Cultish sects like this and the WBC prove one thing - the best Christians are the worst humans.

  • Yes yes, god loves them, so he commands this couple to write a book about how to beat the shit out of your kid, because they and god love them so much.

  • That sort of behavior makes me sick. That's one of the HUNDREDS of reasons as to why I left the Cult of Christianity.

  • a rod is a measuring device.

Bars of metal one rod long were used as standards of length when surveying land. The rod was still in use as a common unit of measurement in the mid-19th century, when Henry David Thoreau used it frequently when describing distances in his work Walden.

  • from my whole heart I wish those people DONT or will EVER have children
