  • holy shit he's not funny or interesting... at all...

  • As a christian...he is my favorite atheist

  • @dogincat12 he's not an atheist he's an evolutionist like most intelligent people.

  • @dogincat12 he is jewish

  • Britain never colonized the middle east. India and Pakistan was about it. They tried Afghanistan but found the natives to be too vicious.

  • the manlyyyy

  • The Office brought me here :) stanleeeeeey!!

  • If anyone seriously believes Islam is the reason the Middle East is screwed up, like a certain top comment that's trying to pass itself off as educated, I'd recommend a history book.

  • @superman32101 Religion overall is the reason it's fucked up.

  • My birthday is on valentines day. Lol

  • I simply don't understand why literal religous nuts don't have any humor. Never had any I guess. They need a chill pill eh. ;)

  • FSM I love you so much!! Thank you FSM for creating the Universe!!!

  • Hes an atheist jew just like me!:)

  • At Christmas time I've been witness to strangers..my god STRANGERS being nice to strangers...Opening doors for them, giving extra change in their pockets, more apt to smile, strike up random conversations etc. My problem is that if people can do this for a month or so once a year and not the rest of the year it must mean that overall people are pieces of shit who don't truly care about one another. We could be nice...we just choose not to be.Sad!

  • Christians is the cwaziest peoples

  • I'm eastern orthodox so my christmas is january 6th

  • Stop buying stuff for Christmas and instead tell the people you love how they've affected your life in positive ways. It will mean a lot more to them than whatever piece crap you would have bought them anyway.

  • I think he's even funnier than Carlin

  • Hes a Jew, hes an asshole, he hates God. No wonder the Jews have been hated through history.

  • @pantherfan17

Oh look, yet another 'loving' christian..

  • @tampertt Oh look, yet another self absorbed, self loathing, arrogant, ignorant, atheist.

  • Here's something funny - JEWS and QUEERS are allies. Just a fact for you.

  • Christians are out of control?!! Ha-ha-ha, someone needs to get Black and his peeps a mirror. Money, power, property etc? How much do you need?

  • Of course, he's right! I hate the bloody commercialism, the *@#(%$_ materialism, the goddam marketing crappe we have to put up with! INSANE!

  • @Boeing747fourhundred I thought J.C. had some 'ranting lunatic' characteristics too. I mean, him kicking people out of Solomon's Temple was pretty violent. I guess we just have to pick our ranting lunatics to follow.

  • @Boeing747fourhundred Oh I see. Jesus said it. So it must be true? Did you hear him say it? I was just wandering around minding my own business, when someone came to me, believe in this guy or you will lose in the end? Oh and is it reaaaally that easy? To just believe in Him? Really? You kind of left out all of the fine print dogma didn't you? Lil disclaimer like an auto ad? nohomosexualityabortionchildrenoutofwedlockmasturbationcatholics, and a host of others.

  • wow, my Birthday is on July 7th ... and here I thought all that hub bub was about me.

  • lol, January 6th christmas... Doing things the Russian way!

  • Most things Christian are based off sun worship. The real Sabbath day in Jewish tradition is Saturday but Christians made their holy day Sunday because it is the day of the sun. Christmas is celebrated on the winter solstice. Easter is called what it is because the sun rises in the East. The list goes on and on. Even the Old Testament itself is just a bunch of Jewish folktales. The fact that Christianity, Islam, Mormonism, etc. all spawned off of it means they're bullshit too.

  • Amen Lewis..................Amen!

  • I like hanakauh better. It hasn't been taken over by commercialism. And it still stick to it roots.

  • Jews are so obsessed about christians, it's crazy.

It's almost as if they need christianity to justify their own religion.

  • @qopha Try the other way around for that last statement. The Christians are a Jewish cult not the other way around. And I don't know about you but I'd be a little obsessed too when some group of schmucks decide to steal your idea and then call it their own.

  • i love this jew

  • lol he winks when he said that x-mas is the best holiday of all at :11 or 11 secs in

  • Christmas half-time.....hehehe

  • I watched this clip because I love Lewis Black's comedy, but I now have a question for those of Christian faith. Why is Christmas the same date every year but Easter isn't? Is it because it's a conglomeration of Christian and Pagan traditions?

  • @kazknight13 I never thought of it like this but I think you may have a point there. Easter was there in some form before the old romans spread out christian traditions and the julianic calendar. therefore the moon was used to decide the day I guess. Just a shot in the dark though.

  • thanksgiving when they pilgrims landed or something im not american so i dont care

  • TRUE so true and i'm a fcking christian

  • To All The Christians: Lewis Black is not just being funny but telling the Truth! Christmas is a FRAUD! I cite the book by Alexander Hislop: The Two Babylons! Read It! Study It! Show Thyself Approved! U Might just LEARN something!

  • google Doe's Account, its insane.

  • this is so funny....love it...i fucking hate christmas

  • Comment removed

  • well it is when they make all their money. stupid christians

  • Lewis Black is a Jew, I very funny, straight forward in your face Jew. Reminds me of George Carlin.

Christians are a Jewish Cult, who worship a Zombie Jew. "urrrrrr! Eat my flesh, and drink my blood, and live forever!!", Perhaps J.C. was a Vampire...

  • @draco5638 wel lol, havnt heared that one before

  • @draco5638 want to know how to have fun with christian fanatics? say jesus was a zombie to a normal christian and they may laugh, say it to a fanatic and they go crazy over it. its pretty hilarious.

  • @draco5638 Carlin was Irish-Catholic...you jews can't have him? ;-) If we Christians are a cult, so are you.

  • @draco5638 If JC was a vampire, then he was the a very sweet one. And I agreed on Chrismas is not Christian Jesus was born in september. But hey! if I own a business I want to make sure that I can make ton of money in a holliday like...CHRISMAS! so why not lets lie to has many people as possible about Jesus birth date and they are so stupid they will not investigate, and happily give us their money and their generations to come.It was after all a great idea for big Corporations and kids.

  • @draco5638 Please don't let Stephenie Meyers hear that...she MIGHT get more ideas!

  • @draco5638 lewis black's idle was george carlin :)

  • @johnny2086 "idol" And for the record, George Carlin liked and admired Lewis Black

  • "Halloween was Halloween, and Santa wasn't poking his ass into it", bravo!

  • lol I think he is reffering to Christmas tree shops

  • wow, a religious person calling someone a retard, isn't that Christlike LMAO! haha!

  • god you two are fucking retards.

  • Saint Patrick isn't even a saint. He has never been canonized by the church. possibly because he opposed all the catholic church stands for.

  • LOL sadly he is oh so right about the Holidays they are and have been out of control for yrs

  • I agree with Lewis when he says "When I was a child, Halloween was Halloween. And Santa wasn't poking his ASS into it!!!"

  • That is the best smile in the world

  • scared the shit outta me xD

  • Yes, he is right. Christmas time starts in july.

  • ....i'll be honest.i like Christmas cuz my whole family hangs around & i get presents!lol

  • and just cause i feel the urge.. i will let y'all know a neat little tip... Christmas isn't Christmas..... is the winter solstice... If you knew the history of Jesus ... he was born in September....

and yes.... thats to you Sarahaudrey03

  • I hate to be the bearer of bad news for all those fans of false hope, but it would benefit you all a bit more to know the ENTIRE history of your religion. Christianity in all forms is completely flawed, from its egoistic name all the way down to its deistic philosophies. If you have any questions about what that means than maybe you should start with the old virgin moon goddess Mari... you might be shocked by what you find.

  • dont look at me,im an atheist.

  • Ignorant?. . .at least we don't believe a man walked on water and brought dead people back to life who had rotted in the hot desert sun for three days.

If God wants me to believe his son walked on water, he can send me a living example. It's not fair that those that witnessed it (only the apostles, by the way. . .no one else saw it) get the short path to heaven and me, because I can't wrap my head around that stupid event, am doomed to "eternal death".

    SHEEESH.

  • Not believing because you weren't there is a retarded reason to not be a Christian. That's right I said it, retarded. You should have a more spiritual or reasonable reason to not believe other than "Well I wasn't there, so it didn't happen."

  • No Sarah. . .believing someone walked on water when, if your neighbor reported the same incident you would call him crazy, is retarded. Please, get your facts straight. I live in REALITY: you should try it.

  • @soulhaven2 Dude you have no Idea how many times I've had to tell that to people. XD

  • @soulhaven2 Thats ridiculous. the intention people celebrate it for is over jesus Christ. It doenst matter that Jesus wasnt born on Christmas.

Christmas was the Roman churches way of making it a little easier for 'pagans' to convert, because the holiday didnt change too much.

Its still the celebration of Jesus Christs birth. Get over it.

  • @flamablesteve Nope, It's the celebration of money and everything it can buy for you.The last time it was about Jesus' Birth, was on his last fucking birthday! Assuming he even existed in the first place.

  • @ivnuzi I more of less agree with you on that point actually.

I was referring to a the general character of the original intent, arguing that it was not a pagan holiday. I do agree, however, that it is fairly commercialized.

I think you are exaggerating though, saying that it hasn't been about Jesus since his last birthday. I'm pretty certain it was about Jesus during the dark ages.

  • @flamablesteve Lets not get into his existence here. The most likely case is that there was some man that jesus was based on, and the story became massively exaggerated; as is the case with much religious mythology.

  • @soulhaven2 pagan holiday....

  • @soulhaven2 you are an idiot. There is no proof of Jesus and what about Krishna his story is the same as Jesus. What about Buddha is he Jesus Christs dad? Buddha says, he's god. Jesus is just another Mythra Story do your history idiots and STFU if you don't know what THE FUCK your talking about Dumbasses

  • @soulhaven2 We really have no idea when Jesus was born. We just kinda picked a date.

  • @CyraEm

Historically there isn't even evidence Jesus ever existed. There is no proof of this man.

  • @tampertt There's as much evidence that Jesus existed as there is of the existence of any other historical figure, which is to say that the only proof we have is corroborated testimony from stories and sparse, damaged records. Which is to say exactly jack shit. There isn't much proof for Jesus, but there isn't much proof for Aristotle either. We just accept the current draft of our history and edit as evidence becomes available.

  • @CyraEm

U are wrong, only proof of Jesus is the bible, and the bible can't prove itself. That's circular reasoning. There is way more evidence for Aristotle than for a man named Jesus.

The testimonies u are talking about can be counted on 1 hand & are all dated about 100 y. later & all 'hearsay' & multiple interpretable. Where are all the thousands of eyewitnesses & THEIR testimonies? Doesn't exist. If u don't know much about history or archaelogy then u would do better & say nothing at all.

  • @tampertt *sigh* There are historical accounts of a messiah outside of purely religious texts, and there are historical accounts of some biblical stories. After accounting for the fact that some stories were adopted from other faiths and some stories were exaggerated greatly over time, Jesus is as historically real as anyone. The only evidence of Aristotle is his own writing, the writing of his students, and some vague references to him in letters from government figures. Same with Jesus.

  • @tampertt Futhermore, I don't think you have a clear grasp on how we historically confirm whether someone was real or fictitious. We do not only confirm someone if there are "thousands of eyewitnesses & THEIR testimonies", because that sort of data and record-keeping is extremely rare, especially at a time when the vast majority of people on earth were completely illiterate and completely unable keep records for themselves.

Just because I'm religious doesn't mean I'm stupid.

  • @CyraEm right, but after all that there is still no reason to believe that he existed with the evidence provided much less any evidence proving that he was a divine being.

  • @hempartist420 And there is not proof that any other historical figure existed. Not really. Scientific proofs and historical proofs are two very different things. To historically prove someone was real requires significantly less evidence than it would if the endeavor were undertaken by scientists. We simply have to take more at face value when studying history. He is as historically real as most greek philosophers and that's good enough for the philosophers.

  • @CyraEm I wouldn't say that religion started most violent conflicts, but religion is just another reason for it and by no means does it help society. how can you claim it to be so? How is it beneficial to repress scientific information like the theory of evolution from children, or tell them lies about hell that haunts them for the rest of their life, or prevent stem cell research? look at the Middle East, it's a complete shithole because of Islam. Name one way society benefits form religion

  • @hempartist420 Because it is the churches that also help feed and care for the hungry and the homeless and the sick throughout the world. They are the ones that go into the prisons and hosptials. they build schools in third world countries. I dont care for alot of what organized religion has done, but I unwilling to demonize it. However I do criticize Islam, because it is repressive.

  • @rickyd0821 that's very hypocritical of you to notice the repression caused by Islam and then completely ignore the repression caused by Christianity isn't it? Christianity used to be exactly like Islam is, centuries ago, the only reason they're not still burning people at the stake, and starting inquisitions is be cause it's been secularized. There are very many secular charities and schools that were established without religion. All of that can be done without a repressive ideology.

  • @hempartist420 No sense arguing. I have a loving God in my life, I dont care if you do or dont. I will not try to convince you of anything.

  • @rickyd0821 good enough for me, you definitely have a right to your beliefs

  • @hempartist420 i stopped taking your post seriously after i saw your name was hempartist

  • @chrischeckedin that's your own personal problem isn't? it's not my fault that you discriminate against people you've never met, it's pretty pathetic actually. Btw, I don't even smoke anymore, I made this profile years ago, it's pretty presumptuous to assume that I still smoke... so yeah, you can fuck off.

  • @hempartist420 no, the middle east is a shithole due to british colonialism and the way it artificially divided countries at the start of the 20th century

  • @GalenAus women can't drive in saudi arabia because of british colonialism? they have to be covered like animals? people blow themselves up in a marketplace yelling "allahu akbar" because of British colonialism? give me a fucking break. it's always excuses with you religious nutjobs

  • @hempartist420 Nice logical fallacis bro.. first off; ad hominem-I am NOT a religious nutjob, so don't jump to that conclusion. I am a staunch atheist and empiricist who looks for evidence before reaching a conclusion- i.e. there is no causal relationship between 'some' countries interpretations of islam and islam itself. However there is a causal relationship between british colonialism and the rise of religious extremism. Read some history. I recommend Robert Fisk-very knowledgable historian.

  • @hempartist420 Religion prevents wasteful stem cell research which has yet to produce useful results. Michael J. Fox still has Parkinsons and always will.

  • @mustang6172 omg, I can't believe you would say something so stupid, it hasn't been that long since government funded stem cell research started and we already have a SKIN GUN that replaces burnt skin, and we've already grown a trachea that's in someone's body right now. WHY don't you dark aged dimwits find a cave to live in since science offends you? you can start by not using a computer.

  • @hempartist420 I want useful science: cybernetics, warp drive, and a bomb that can destroy the sun. Not your fairytale bullshit.

  • @mustang6172 why don't you trollfags do something with your pathetic lives?

  • @hempartist420 Why don't you build me a flying car Dr. No Science?

  • @hempartist420 Buddhism....? lol, its of the tamest of all the religions i think

  • And anyway, what evidence could I possibly show you that would prove his existence? What could I possibly show you that would prove his divinity. Even given a time machine, there is nothing I could do to prove to some people that Christ existed. The urge to non-believe is just as strong as the urge to believe, whether some people want to admit it or not.

  • I think arguing over whether or not Christ existed is a question wrongly asked. The point isn't whether a man once walked the earth claiming to be God. Religion is a response to revelation, so in the end it doesn't matter whether or not the person who wrote the bible was a carpenter or a group of folklorists. What matters is how people respond to that revelation and how it influences their live. Some people react poorly, some well, but religion of any kind is beneficial to humans.

  • We are fulfilled by religion, we are helped by religion, and we are guided by religion through difficult moral decisions. All those things can be accomplished without religion, but to completely rule religious belief out as an option is excluding and stupid. And as for all the wars religion started, I contest that. The majority of wars began over territory and resources and were later justified using religion. But they could have justified the wars with anything, religion was just convenient.

  • @hempartist420 The problem isn't the faith, it's the people. Like I said before, religion is a response to revelation, rather than a universal set of beliefs. As with all revelations be it divinely-based or something like the development of nuclear physics, some people react my making the world better and some people react by making it worse.

Not all Christians hate science or stem cells and following Christ doesn't necessitate being a superstitious prick.

  • @hempartist420 For example, I am a Christian, devout even, but my denomination is not one that most people would recognize as Christian from the outside. We accept gays and approve of gay marriage, we put value and stock in scientific progress, we are not overly concerned with hell, we are pacifists, and we believe that Jesus would have personally vomited had he heard the term "christ soldier" being thrown around as much as it is lately.

  • @hempartist420 Christianity can be good and righteous and grand, and inspire people to do great things, but the problem is the fundamentalists. Anyone claiming to be a fundamentalist of any religion is inherently dangerous. But most people aren't fundamentalists. The fundamentalists are just louder than the majority, and give us a bad name.

  • @CyraEm No not stupid but totally ignorant.

  • @onebaud So what? So if I knew more about the world I would become an atheist? Just because atheism is the end result of philosophical skepticism for some people does mean that it's the end result for all people. Life is sometimes complicated. There is not one answer to the question. Just like not all people come to Christianity, not all people lose faith upon examination of their religious constructs.

  • @onebaud Your assumption seems to be that I do not know enough about the world. So, tell me, which field should I study closer in order to see 'the truth'? To which area should I apply myself? Science? Mathematics? Literature? World events? Because I can tell you with great certainty that there are religious scientists, mathematicians, literature professors and historians. Knowledge is the way to salvation, be it secular or otherwise. Knowledge does not necessitate atheism.

  • @soulhaven2 christmas......a pagan rip off?

  • I wanna be Lewis Black when I grow up.

  • The Christians in the first century didn't celebrate Christmas, so why should we? People really didn't start getting all crazy about it until a few hundred years ago. Look it up.

  • I'm a Christian and I think Christmas is redicuously long and commericail. I agree thanksgiving should be its own holiday.

  • yes! i always believed that about valentines day

  • Lewis Black argues as if everyone celebrating Christmas ARE Christians...which is obviously wrong

  • That's the way I do it!!

    Celebrate Christmas like a Jew!!

    Why not?

  • Lewis Black is right; we've so commercialized Christmas that it's not even really about Jesus anymore; I say we put the Christ back in CHRISTmas and start celebrating its true meaning: the birth of our Savior.

  • in the future people will lose the christian beliefs, and the whole idea of christianity will be forgotten. They will talk about where did christmas come from. And the teacher will respond to the little 3rd grade child, we think it was the birth of santa but some crazies we talking about this saviour of some sort named jesus being born. And it will not matter, in the future, christmas will just be presents day. Because people care more about who they love, and not the love for jesus.

  • "And it will not matter, in the future, christmas will just be presents day. Because people care more about who they love, and not the love for jesus." And that my friend, is the sad irony and true tragedy of Christmas.

  • then its agreed lol

  • sarahaudrey03: "Lewis Black is right... I say we put the Christ back in CHRISTmas"

...were we just watching the same video?

  • Christmas is about Christ's birth. If we dematerialize Christmas, then we must of necessity go back to the original meaning.

  • go back to its original meaning.

so your saying we should be celebrating Norse pagan mythological battle victories in the dead of winter while burning a yule log in a grand lodge and possibly having an orgy to round out the feast of days?

cuz if you want to talk original, there you have.

Christians stole (or borrowed) Christmas from the Norse and put Jesus where Thor used to be.

  • your a pathetic immature child; mentally and emotionally.

go back to talking with your imaginary friend and leave thinking to those of us who are actually able to do it.

  • "....if the price is right, sometime after January....." LOL!!!

  • Is Christmas REALLY that strung out in the states?

  • If it hasn't already then it won't take long until it does. I swear I seen so many Christmas commericals during Thanksgiving by the time Christmas was over I didn't miss it.

  • My hero! I worship at the alter of "Black"!

  • wtf?! really?! brian regan and him are NOTHING alike, one is constantly sarcastic and the other rants a lot. I like them both and can understand that you dont but dont compare two completely different comics

  • I wasn't comparing---I'm just saying that I prefer non-offending humor to the Lewis Black brand of humor.

  • Yeah, I agree with GermanConquistador and Lewis Black on the topic of Christmas. Christmas is one of the most commercialized and abused holidays, besides Memorial Day and Valentine's Day. The meaning of these three holidays are completely twisted and they've almost completely lost their ture meaning.

  • LMAO. True. Also when did Santa replace Jesus as the sole figure of Christmas? When the fuck did that happen?! We celebrate Christmus because Jesus was born, not because a fat red petofile broke into our homes and left gifts for little children. I don't get it!

  • I loved the book

  • Riverhead Books?

Did you piss off Simon & Schuster already???
