@aleki30 I agree with you...who cares that she can't play by ear? sometimes it is better to know how to read notes. I am saying from experience. I can play some by ear, but the technical things that notes and theory teach you put you at a bigger advantage because when you audition for certain groups, note reading is necessary. It is "insurance" that you know what you are doing and know how the piece is meant to be played. I wish I could play by notes on piano.
